Italian mainstay Nicolo Simonelli debuts on Junior Jack’s ever-growing Adesso Music on November 7 with ‘Sukano’ – a rich and emotive Afro house journey that reflects his evolving sonic palette.
Across a storied 15+ year career, Simonelli has explored all corners of house and techno, weaving in elements of melodic, indie, and tech sounds. His catalog includes releases on some of the scene’s most vital labels, such as Carl Cox’s Intec Digital, Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD, Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds, and Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records.
In 2020, he teamed up with close friend and frequent collaborator OniWax to launch the Reenboog imprint – a creative outlet pushing deeper into the realms of Afro house and organic rhythms, as showcased here on his Adesso Music debut.
‘Sukano’ sees Simonelli further refining that direction. Glowing piano chords and pulsating bass flicker like fading embers amongst rolling organic percussion, while smoky, emotive vocals evoke a sense of late-night introspection and raw vulnerability.
