Escape Halloween 2025 Delivers a Spooky Spectacle in San Bernardino

Escape Halloween 2025

A Festival That Blends Fear, Bass, and Energy

This year’s Escape Halloween, held October 31–November 1 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, brought together everything that defines the Halloween rave experience: thunderous bass, dazzling production, and a world of costumed chaos.

The massive two-day festival, produced by Insomniac Events, once again proved why it remains one of the premier Halloween celebrations in the electronic scene.

From haunted installations to immersive themed zones, every corner of the venue pulsed with life. Whether you were chasing heavy drops, exploring dark corners, or just soaking in the visuals, Escape Halloween 2025 offered a perfect fusion of sound and spectacle.

Whethan’s Rise to the Top

One of the standout moments of the weekend was the headlining set from Whethan. Known for his genre-blending sound and euphoric live energy, Whethan has been on an undeniable upswing — recently popping up across the country with surprise shows that have been selling out fast.

Escape Halloween marked a huge moment in his trajectory. The crowd’s energy was electric as he delivered a polished, cinematic set that confirmed his evolution from underground producer to main-stage powerhouse.

With his headline show announced for January at the Hollywood Palladium, it’s clear Whethan is stepping into a new era — and the crowd at Escape got a front-row preview.

A Nostalgic Return: 2016 Rave Icons Reunited

While Whethan represented the new wave, this year’s lineup also served as a time machine for longtime ravers. Fans were thrilled to see RL Grime, TroyBoi, and What So Not — artists who dominated the trap and bass scene back in 2016 — reclaiming their rightful place on festival stages.

RL Grime once again brought his signature dark, cinematic trap energy that’s become synonymous with Halloween. What So Not’s set was a mix of nostalgia and innovation, perfectly bridging past and present. But it was TroyBoi who arguably stole the show.

The Sewer District: A Hidden Highlight

Performing at the Sewer District stage, TroyBoi delivered an unforgettable set complete with an eerie drone light show that illuminated the sky in perfect sync with his drops. The atmosphere was pure Halloween magic — creepy, cinematic, and completely immersive.

The Sewer District itself was a standout addition this year. With elevated stands, grungy industrial visuals, and a more open layout, it felt like discovering a secret rave within the rave. The stage’s vibe offered a refreshing balance — intense enough for die-hard bassheads but chill enough for those looking to escape the main-stage chaos.

It even carried some serious EDC-style energy — the kind of setup that made it easy to lose track of time, surrounded by lasers, fog, and costumed fans vibing under the night sky.

A Festival Full of Frights and Freedom

Beyond the music, Escape Halloween 2025 delivered a fully realized thematic experience. The grounds were crawling with costumed performers, fire dancers, and eerie walkthroughs that made the space feel alive. Everywhere you turned, there was something to discover — from carnival rides and food stands to hidden lounge areas where you could catch your breath.

The balance between high-energy stages and laid-back chill zones gave the event a flow that kept fans engaged from dusk till dawn. It was both massive and intimate — a hard trick to pull off, but one Insomniac continues to master.

The Verdict

This year’s Escape Halloween was more than a festival — it was a collision of eras. Whethan’s meteoric rise showed the next chapter of EDM’s evolution, while TroyBoi, RL Grime, and What So Not reminded everyone why the mid-2010s trap scene still hits hard.

Add in immersive production, a spooky drone show, and the rebirth of underused areas like the Sewer District, and you’ve got one of the most dynamic editions of Escape to date.

As the lights dimmed and the bass faded, one thing was clear — Halloween isn’t just a night at Escape, it’s an entire world.
