As BotaniQ continues to grow following an impressive pair of releases from the label boss and a recent guest appearance from Italian talent KOKO, Dennis Cruz’s burgeoning label welcomes its next artist with the debut of Chinonegro.
Landing on 9th January, his ‘Mi Gentee’ EP marks the Peruvian producer’s first appearance on the imprint, bringing his unmistakable groove and high-impact club sound into the BotaniQ ecosystem.
The EP opens with the title track, a simmering, rhythm-led cut powered by infectious percussion, commanding vocals, and a raw, energetic groove. ‘Sexy Dancer’ follows with a driving edge, pairing playful movement with polished, club-ready production.
Closing the release, the Dub Mix of ‘Mi Gentee’ strips things back, leaning into the track’s rolling textures for those looking to keep the focus solely on the music.
Born in Chiclayo, Peru, Chinonegro has steadily built a growing global reputation with releases on influential labels such as Crosstown Rebels, elrow Music, Mindshake, Deeperfect, and more.
However, 2025 marked a breakthrough year for the South American following the release of ‘Funky Beat’ on 8Bit – one of the most supported tracks of the summer, with plays from the likes of Marco Carola, Mochakk, Franky Rizardo, and Rossi. amongst others.
Entering into 2026 with undeniable momentum, this three-track EP further strengthens BotaniQ’s position as a platform for forward-thinking artists who share a deep connection to groove, energy, and atmosphere, all rooted in the label’s nature-inspired ethos.
