Getter Is Leaving The EDM Scene And You Won’t Believe Why !

Tanner Petulla, 24-year-old electronic music producer, DJ and rapper, more commonly know as Getter, recently announced to Twitter that he’s leaving the EDM industry.

After a negative exchange with another Twitter user, Petulla claimed he’s “leaving the industry” and the “scene.” In what seems like a public meltdown, the American DJ vented to his fans over how “shit” the scene has become for him and Twitter user, sandyballz3, is one of the reasons behind it. However, Getter stated he plans to continue writing music but is stepping away after he completes his next album.

Back in 2012, Getter’s career took off when he signed with Firepower Records and later collaborated with big name artists such as Datsik, Skrillex and Borgore. He also released through other labels known as OWSLA and Rottun Recordings, and in 2017 he launched his own record label, clothing shop and artist collective known as Shred Collective.

But I guess all that hard work isn’t enough to keep this one going. Adios Getter, let’s hope you made the right decision.

Scottish DJ and producer, Calvin Harris has announced his new album and, quite frankly, the guest list is ridiculous.

Calvin Harris has announced his new studio album titled Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 is out June 30. Back in February, he tweeted that he’d “worked with the greatest artists of our generation !!!” on the LP.

Here’s who he was talking about: The album features Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, Kehlani, Future, Pharrell, Katy Perry, Big Sean, John Legend, Khalid, Migos, Schoolboy Q, Ariana Grande, Young Thug, D.R.A.M., Nicki Minaj, Lil Yachty, Jessie Reyez, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Snoop Dogg.

But the Canadian progressive house DJ and producer, Deadmau5 is not impressed at all, saying that he f*cking hate watching what he love to do get raped by popular culture. He took the opportunity to share his opinion on Twitter.

These Tattoos play sounds which you can listen to onto your skin [VIDEO]

soundwave tattoos

Soundwave Tattoos are a brand new way to express yourself using art and technology. What is more personal, more permanent, and more meaningful than a tattoo? A tattoo you can play back.

A tattoo artist in Los Angeles named Nate Siggard has managed to create tattoos you can listen to. Whether it’s your favorite track or the voice of a loved one, you’ll be able to wear it on your skin and play it back through an mobile app whenever you want.

It all started when two friends got the opening line from Tiny Dancer tattooed by Nate Siggard. Then, Nate’s girlfriend Juliana said “wouldn’t it be cool if you could listen to the tattoo?” and Nate quickly realized that he could make that happen. Nate decided he needed one of his own, with Juliana and their 4 month old baby saying “I love you” and filmed it to share online.

He posted the video on Facebook the next day, and it immediately went viral. Messages started pouring in from people all over the world who wanted to get one too. Nate quickly realized the potential for a way to make Soundwave Tattoos available for everyone. After writing the patent for personalized augmented reality tattoos, he launched Skin Motion – a new app that brings tattoos to life.

Here’s how it works: the app/website generate a sound wave pattern out of any 1 minute song or audio. Once you get your design, you can get it tattooed with a certified Skin Motion tattoo artist.

24 hours after you get your tattoo done, Skin Motion animate the overlay and add it to the app so you could play the original audio file attached to the tattoo as many times as you want. Nate gives a demonstration on how it works in the video below.

The app has yet to be released, but Siggard’s company Skin Motion is planning to have it available in June 2017.

If you are a tattoo artist or a studio owner wanting to get involved, click here. If you’re interested in getting one, you can already sign up on a waiting list on their website.

You’re Not Fooling Anyone Marshmello, Or Should We Say Dotcom? [5 Proofs]

marshmello dotcom proofs

Marshmello, the mysterious EDM DJ with an unforgettable trademark, is under the spotlight as his fans try to connect the dots to find his true identity.

Chris Comstock, 24-year-old DJ and producer better known as Dotcom, is rumored to be the face behind the mask and we can prove it.

Around two years ago when Marshmello’s fame took off, established producers such as Dotcom and Jauz instantly supported his music with reports to their Soundclouds and social media accounts. Since then, the DJ is considered an overnight sensation and gained international recognition through his remixes of songs by Jack Ü, Zedd and later collaborated with well-known artists Omar LinX, Ookay, Slushii and Jauz.

Back in March of this year, Feed Me, a dubstep and electro house producer, unintentionally revealed who Marshmello is when he posted an Instagram story, not realizing that Chris Comstock, dressed in all white, was reflected in the mirror behind him.

The Instagram story was quickly deleted but not to worry, we still have the picture.

In 2016, the mysterious DJ sarcastically tweeted at Deadmau5 asking if he wanted to play a game of basketball. Deadmau5, the DJ with a track record for publicly hating Marshmello, fired back and spilled his secret.

Another incident happened last year when Skrillex posted a video to his social media account celebrating Marshmello’s birthday with fellow artists, Getter, Ookay and Jauz.

A tweet surfaced later that day from a Dotcom fan wishing him a happy birthday. Looks like Marshmello and Comstock share the same special day?

In a recent interview with Katie Couric, Skrillex revealed that Marshmello’s first name is actually Chris. Sonny Moore (Skrillex) answered a phone call from “Chris” during the interview and referred to his as Marshmello.

Skip to 12:30 to see for yourself.

After Marshmello posted a photo of himself to his social media, fans were quick to notice his leg tattoo peaking through his ripped jeans and how it looks pretty similar to Dotcom’s.

All signs point to Dotcom as the face behind it all so take off the helmet Chris, I’m sure it gets hot under there.

Man got stuck in a tree at Middlelands festival, Griz had to stop his set [VIDEO]

Middlelands, Insomniac

A very interesting situation occurred yesterday during Griz’s DJ set at Insomniac‘s medieval-themed festival, Middlelands.

Apparently some guy got way up in the tree at Middlelands festival, set to get a better view, during Griz‘s set last night. He seemingly passed out for a little bit, then woke back up and realized he was stuck.

Griz was forced to stop his set for a while, so the Middlelands team can come and rescue this guy out of a tree.

sebastian ingrosso and salvatore ganacci

Swedish House Mafia maestro Sebastian Ingrosso and Salvatore Ganacci, have teamed up to create the bass heavy “Ride It.”

From the get go, the intoxicating vocals of Bunji Garlin, coupled with the bass heavy drum kicks and siren-esque synth stabs produced by Sebastian Ingrosso and Salvatore Ganacci, pull in an unmatched sense of excitement and energy.

Due to an unparalleled marriage of genres fusing elements of big room electro and UK rap/grime, the latter of which is thanks to Garlin’s powerful vocal addition, “Ride it” cements it as a club track to be reckoned with.
