SAGA Festival unveils official anthem for debut edition

SAGA Festival launch party

Ahead of the debut edition of SAGA Festival in Izvor Park, Bucharest, Amsterdam-based producer Avalan has delivered the official anthem for the 2021 edition of the festival alongside iconic Romanian vocalist, Antonia.

Taking his fresh new collaboration, “Take Me Somewhere“, global, Avalan looks to encapsulate the hearts of dance music fans around the world once more, drawing in unprecedented excitement for the event’s arrival in the Romanian capital, from 10-12 September, later this year.

Picking up where he left off in a break-through 2020, Avalan continues to dominate the dance music scene with his intrinsic melodies and enchanting vocal talents. Following a captivating collaboration with Armin van Buuren last year, his new production “Take Me Somewhere” sees him entrusted with an official festival anthem for the second time in his career.

As he found success with “World We Know” in the form of the Alterboyz remix made exclusively for AMF 2020, he looks to go to the next-level for SAGA Festival in 2021, enlisting Bucharest-born model and superstar singer Antonia, for another spellbinding hit.

I’m excited to share with you my new song “Take me Somewhere”. It’s an absolute honor to be doing this with such an amazing vocalist like Antonia. We both wanted to do something special and together with ALDA and Global Records we set up a plan to create a track that unites and tells the story about people with wanderlust, that love festivals and just mainly live young, wild and free.

What’s extra special for me is that this song happens in a time where the whole world is slowly opening up again. That’s the reason we decided to release something that a lot of people relate to, can feel good about and most importantly dance to! I hope you like our track as much as we do and we’re more than ready to perform this live during SAGA 2021” – Avalan

With a youthful and uplifting top-line, “Take Me Somewhere” takes on the spirit of an inspirational summer anthem with tantalizing melodies throughout. Homing in on Antonia‘s serene vocals and Avalan‘s impeccably crafted beats, this track is set to become the soundtrack to summer 2021. Expect to hear this enthralling record on heavy rotation in the coming months as festivals are set to mark their eagerly anticipated return.

I gladly accepted to collaborate with Avalan for the song “Take Me Somewhere”, the anthem of SAGA Festival. It’s a song that makes me think of summer, fun and the freedom to live life to the fullest.” – Antonia

The single lands just over a month before the long-awaited SAGA Festival is set to kick-start in the heart of Bucharest. Global event organisers ALDA and Insomniac have combined to bring together some of the biggest names in electronic music for fans eager to get back to the dancefloor this summer.

The line-up will see a glittering ensemble of over 100 names from house, techno and progressive grace the stage in the Romanian capital between 10-12 September. Boasting three days of extraordinary electronic music, state of the art visuals, phenomenal pyrotechnics and unrivalled stage designs, SAGA Festival will proceed as one of the most unmissable events of 2021.

Championing world-renowned artists such as Alan Walker, Don Diablo, Tiësto, Topic, Vini Vici and many more, preparations are well underway for an unforgettable weekend of live dance music. SAGA Festival will also offer up some of the most invigorating names across the techno scene, promoting artists Amelie Lens, Carl Cox, Dubfire, Enrico Sangiuliano and many others on one of biggest stages in Europe. Eli Brown, Solardo, Sonny Fodera and Fisher will all arrive in Izvor Park too, where scintillating house music will also be in abundance. Not forgetting the recent additions of Masked Wolf and viral sensation Sickick to polish off the roster, the Romanian contingent are set to enjoy one of the biggest festival line-ups.

Fans recently enjoyed a preview of what’s to come in September, as a small selection of artists performed at FORM Beach in Romania last weekend. SAGA teamed up with Radio ZU to present a mini live event, Back To Dance, which saw an eclectic line-up including Topic, The Motans, Spike, Minelli, EMAA and Andrew Dum perform well into the night.

Off the back of the recent announcement that SAGA will still go ahead as normal, visitors looking to enjoy the festival will be required to provide certain information at the festival gates. Visitors need to show that they are either between the period of the 15th and 180th day after having the virus, show proof of vaccination with a certificate, provide a negative result of an antigen rapid certificate or provide a negative PCR test result no older than 72 hours to gain entry into the festival site to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy a safe experience.
