Multi-talented Techno DJ and producer, Julian Jeweil returns to Adam Beyer’s Drumcode label for his first EP in two years with the inspired six-tracker ‘Boreal’.
The Frenchman has been a vital member of the extended Drumcode family since 2017 when he debuted with the fantastic ‘Rolling‘ EP. Since then, highlights have included playing main stage at Drumcode Festival and dropping the critically acclaimed ‘Transmissions‘ album in 2019.
His ‘Boreal‘ EP marks his fifth outing on the imprint. The title track is a truly special record, striking the sweet spot between euphoria and melancholy, as airy pads and stirring waves of melody stamp it with a timeless feel.
‘Time‘ is a propulsive weapon built around a steely industrial backbone and is a necessary tool for every set. ‘Reverse’ is a low-slung beast that builds up intergalactic energy throughout.
‘Cosmos’ is a peak-time belter and sees Jeweil do what he does best; deliver functional, powerful techno with a trippy extra-terrestrial edge. ‘System‘ is a jacking slice of heat, led by shuffling beats and a persistent vox designed primed for sweaty dancefloor moments. The generous EP rounds out with ‘Minuit‘, a polished driving cut with a sleek melodic core that reinforces the Frenchman’s breadth in the studio.
