Spanish house heavyweight and BotaniQ head honcho Dennis Cruz returns to the label with his first collaborative release on the imprint, joining forces with close friend and long-time studio partner Iuliano Mambo for the hypnotic and groove-driven ‘The Trip’.
Rooted in years of shared musical history, the release brings a long-standing natural chemistry to the label’s evolving catalogue, marking yet another full-circle moment in both their ongoing artistic journeys.
‘The Trip’ welcomes a production that delivers a tight, rolling groove built around crisp percussion, warm low-end pressure, and subtle rhythmic detail. Balancing energy with restraint, the track feels both focused and fluid, a refined club cut designed for extended moments on the dancefloor.
Having begun his journey in electronic music at Cristian Varela’s iconic Old School DJ academy, Iuliano Mambo first gained recognition alongside Cruz as part of the duo Mambo & Troyano back in 2012.
That creative partnership has since continued over the past decade and a half, with collaborations on Crosstown Rebels and Saved, alongside releases on Cruz’s previous labels MÜSE and Lemon-Aid Music – with the two now bringing that long-standing connection to BotaniQ for the first time and reinforcing the project’s foundation of trusted collaborators and shared musical language.
