Producer and DJ Alex Cecil returns with a fresh reimagining of his single ‘Chismosa’ featuring NatX, now unveiling an official remix by Ian Allen. The new version adds a distinct perspective to the original track while expanding its sonic impact.
The remix delivers a fresh, club-focused interpretation of the original, reinforcing the track’s momentum while introducing a deeper, more driving sonic character designed for late-night dance floors.
With its playful vocal energy, infectious groove, and sleek production, ‘Chismosa’ represented a natural progression in Alex Cecil’s evolving catalogue, as the collaboration with vocalist NatX brought a vibrant personality to the track, blending rhythmic bounce with attitude and charisma that resonated across both streaming audiences and DJ playlists alike.
Now, with the addition of Ian Allen’s signature touch, the record enters a new level of sonic intensity.
Alex Cecil – Chismosa (Ian Allen Remix)
Known for his refined approach to Tech House and underground club sounds, Ian Allen injects the remix with weightier basslines, tightened percussion, and an elevated sense of tension and release.
The result is a version that feels tailor-made for peak-hour sets, driving yet controlled, hypnotic yet energetic. Allen’s production honors the original’s identity while expanding its atmosphere, giving DJs a versatile tool that thrives in both intimate club rooms and large-scale dance environments.
The remix maintains the magnetic vocal presence of NatX while surrounding it with a darker, more textured framework. Subtle rhythmic shifts, rolling low-end grooves, and crisp drum programming transform ‘Chismosa’ into a more immersive, floor-focused experience without sacrificing the track’s original charm. It’s a release that speaks equally to House purists, tastemakers, and casual listeners discovering the song for the first time.
With this release, Alex Cecil continues to demonstrate his curatorial vision and ability to collaborate with artists who elevate his work into new creative territory. ‘Chismosa (Ian Allen Remix)’ stands as both a celebration of the original’s success and a bold progression forward.
Chris Liebing has announced the thirteen-track ‘Evolver’ LP for release on March 27th, with its first EP, the double-A ‘Roy Batty’ EP, available Jan 30th.
While the ‘Evolver LP’ features collaborations with Charlotte de Witte, Luke Slater, Speedy J, The Advent, The Alte Stuben Modular Ensemble aka Daniel Miller, Terence Fixmer, and Pascal Gabriel, this is Liebing’s first solo Techno LP, having focused on long-form electronica output alongside co-writer Ralf Hildenbeutel for 2018’s ‘Burn Slow’ and 2023’s ‘Another Day’ for Mute Records, and the Andre Walter co-produced ‘Evolution’ in 2002.
Comprising ‘Roy Batty’ and ‘Brooks Ave’, the ‘Roy Batty’ EP sees Liebing set out the stall for the upcoming ‘Evolver’ LP in uncompromising style. The title cut, one of the foundations of the upcoming LP, began with Chris’ musings on how Rutger Hauer’s character in Blade Runner “becoming sentient and asking for the possibility to experience this life longer.”
Chris Liebing – Evolver LP
That vision seems more vital than ever in the current age, and cuts right to the core of the sci-fi understandings that have always driven techno. “These moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. ” But the energy of the track gives you the flipside of that, reminds you that these moments happened, and matter.
The super direct and linear acid of ‘Brooks Ave’ is named for the spot where Chris stays in LA – a place where the ‘Evolver’ feeling was really strong: it just emerged from trusting the process, letting the universe do its work – finished off in his own studio, but ultimately almost entirely created in, and inspired by, the Californian apartment.
The ‘Roy Batty EP’ is released on CLR on January 30th, 2026, the ‘Evolver’ LP on March 27th, and an interim single to be announced.
Butch debuts on DJ Tennis‘ Life and Death label with the release of “Formula E,” a new single from the widely respected German producer.
A slow-building but climactic club record, “Formula E” reflects Butch‘s long-standing dancefloor sensibility. A steady, percolating bassline anchors the track, gradually building tension as a swarm of pitched-up synth tones swells.
Always serving as a peak moment in Butch‘s sets since this past summer, “Formula E” has been fully road-tested to shift the energy of a room.
For over two decades, Butch has been one of underground electronic music’s most trusted figures: a DJ and a producer whose work moves effortlessly between house and techno without ever feeling stylistically fixed.
His catalog spans labels including Innervisions, Rekids, Cocoon, Defected, Diynamic, and Crosstown Rebels, and his sets (whether at Circoloco, Robert Johnson, or all-night club rooms) unfold with a careful sense of timing and instinct.
With “Formula E,” Butch reinforces that lineage, offering a record that is powerful and purpose-built for the long arc of the night.
