Drumcode Reveal World Exclusive 5-way B2B Set From Yacht Week 2023 [VIDEO]

Techno titans Drumcode have revealed a world exclusive set performed for guests this summer on Yacht Week in Croatia. The hour-long footage sees a mammoth, live back-to-back take place on a yacht between Drumcode label boss, Adam Beyer, Bart Skils, Juliet Fox, Joel Mull and Layton Giordani, with audio livestreamed to the 24 yachts following in one huge techno flotilla on the Adriatic coast.

The stunning footage was captured on the final day of the week-long Drumcode x Yacht Week event which took place from 27 May to 3 June 2023 around the impressive Croatian coastline. It took five cameras, two GoPros and two drones to shoot it, and a tech team to stream the audio into all guest yachts.

Guests can be seen dancing out on the decks of other yachts as they carve through the waves, while the DJs go deep into their selections before looking up with a smile as they remember where they are DJing. This is a true one-off DJ set.

Drumcode founder Adam Beyer said:

“Yacht Week is a personal favourite that I look forward to each summer. Although the family has doubled in size over the past two years, it still has that amazing, intimate vibe that makes it feel so special – staying on yachts metres apart, exploring all day and party all night. It’s amazing to meet people who have travelled from all corners of the globe to sail with us, sharing our love of music and adventure. I can’t wait for the third and final year in 2024!”

Yacht Week and Drumcode will partner up again in 2024 as together they continue to dispel the myth that techno is made purely for underground clubs and festivals. Instead, the brands have created a unique and intimate experience where guests travel alongside the world famous Drumcode talent, immerse themselves in a mix of exploration, culture, wellness and adventure, and party in the most exceptional settings – with quality DJ sets taking place on Yacht Week‘s famous floating DJ booth.

Hosted by the original floating festival, Yacht Week, lineups for the 2024 trip-of-a-lifetime are yet to be announced, but techno fans can trust that Drumcode will serve up some of the biggest and best artists in the scene.

50% of tickets for Drumcode x Yacht Week 2024 (1-7 June) are already sold out and the remaining are expected to fly, fuelled by the fact that this is the last event planned between the two brands in Croatia. Spots are available from £963 / €1,112 / $1,169 per person.

Here’s what Jem Cooke had to say about the track:

“Warrior was written about being in a place where you feel like you have nothing left to give but your brain scans across everything you’ve already done and how far you’ve come and that makes you believe that if you can just dig deep again, you can push through another tough challenge.

It’s an internal conversation between the voices in your head – one that tells you “you’re rubbish, give up!” and the other that says “you’re amazing keep going!” and making sure the good guy wins…like a war cry to yourself to keep going and push past the gremlins and the fear.”

Solomun Remixes Purple Disco Machine, Nothing But Thieves & Duke Dumont’s Track ‘Something On My Mind’

Solomun by Adolf Comes for Pacha Group

Legendary Bosnian-German DJ & producer Solomun has unveiled his brand new remix of Purple Disco Machine, Nothing But Thieves and Duke Dumont’s new single ‘Something On My Mind’.

Solomun‘s rework enhances Conor from NBT’s melodic vocals, fusing club musicality with airtight production to create a hypnotic techno roller. Solomun’s remix arrives fresh off the back of his iconic Ibiza residency Solomun +1 at Pacha this summer which featured guests including Four Tet, Marcel Dettmann, Jamie XX, Dom Dolla, Midland and more. The Diynamic label head is best known for tracks including ‘Around‘, ‘Home‘, ‘The Way Back‘ and his remix of Foals‘ single ‘Late Night‘.

The original version of ‘Something On My Mind‘ is showing no signs of slowing down. The track has garnered over 6.5 million streams and has received a wealth of support from BBC Radio 1, where the track was Vick & Jordan‘s Tune of The Week, as well as key support from Clara Amfo, Danny Howard and Rickie, Melvin & Charlie. The single is also on the rise across EU radio.

Purple Disco Machine has been at the forefront of a disco revival, earning accolades and chart success with his infectious grooves. His recent collaboration with Kungs Substitution‘, so far achieved over 150 millions streams worldwide, becoming another massive European airplay hit (#2 in Europe), and Gold status in Italy, The Netherlands, France, Belgium and Hungary.

With an impressive track record that includes Grammy wins and remixes for a multitude of acclaimed artists, Purple Disco Machine has solidified his position as a trailblazer in electronic music. Having recently received a Grammy for Best Remix Performance on Lizzo‘s ‘About Damn Time,’ Purple Disco Machine continues to ride a wave of incredible success.

The electronic virtuoso has established himself as a chart-topping artist through his collaborations with Sophie and the Giants on tracks including ‘Hypnotized‘, ‘In The Dark‘ and ‘Paradise‘ as well as achieving numerous multi-platinum singles with the likes of Eyelar and Moss Kena. Alongside these achievements, Purple Disco Machine has consistently delivered a series of dancefloor favorites including ‘Body Funk‘, ‘Dished (Male Stripper)‘, ‘Rise‘, ‘Playbox‘ and recent single ‘Bad Company‘.

Southend five-piece Nothing But Thieves are known for their impactful alt rock sound, insightful lyricism and powerful vocals, and they add a dynamic edge to the track, which is one of the few artist collaborations they have done. The band recently released their UK #1 album ‘Dead Club City‘ and have been touring festivals across the UK and Europe this summer ahead of headline North American and UK dates this Autumn and a European tour next year.

While Duke Dumont‘s focus is purely on artistry and building a world-beating live show, he’s still in the habit of making outrageously successful music commercially in the process. His worldwide streaming numbers literally stretch into the billions, over 4 billion to be precise, making him one of the most successful producers of electronic music on the planet. Monster tracks such as ‘The Chant‘, ‘Ocean Drive‘, ‘The Power’, ‘Red Light Green Light‘, ‘I Got U‘ and ‘Need U (100%)‘ have been detonating clubs and parties, and continue to do so, for the last decade. Upon release, ‘I Got U‘ and ‘Need U (100%)‘ went to #1 in the UK single charts.

The concept for a collaboration blossomed from a mutual respect shared between Purple Disco Machine, Duke Dumont and Nothing But Thieves. Purple Disco Machine has long been an admirer of the indietronica sound, which is evidenced by his remixes for artists like Foals, Two Door Cinema Club, Balthazar, New Order and Royal Blood.

When Nothing But Thieves approached Purple Disco Machine with a request to remix a track from their latest album, Purple Disco Machine had a different proposition in mind – instead, proposing the idea of creating something entirely original together. With this, the band eagerly joined forces, resulting in the birth of ‘Something On My Mind.’

Kollektiv Turmstrasse reveals new album “Unity of Opposites” with first single “Night Wire”

Kollektiv Turmstrasse has marked the imminent arrival of his new album with a brand new single “Night Wire”.

The return of Kollektiv Turmstrasse is highly anticipated with “Night Wire” – the first single to be taken from the forthcoming album “Unity of Opposites” – giving fans a taste of what is still to come.

One of the album’s dancefloor-focused tracks, “Night Wire” is a stripped-back production that flourishes in its innate simplicity, blending a catchy synth melody with crisp percussion and glitchy FX details that exude energy with every beat.

At its very core, “Unity of Opposites” remains deeply rooted in the essence of house music – a carefully woven tapestry of warmth, groove, and soulfulness. But Turmstrasse refuses to be limited by one style, taking the listener on a genre-hopping adventure, drawing inspiration from breakbeat to hip-hop, all the way to indie-dance with a wonderful array of vocals. What you might get if a scientific lab spliced TSHA with Floating Points, Travis Scott, and DJ Boring. “Unity of Opposites” is not a club album made for the dancefloor but a gift to everybody who wants to experience Turmstrasse‘s world in a whole new light: A heartfelt personal listening journey.

As one of the most successful German live acts in electronic music, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, also known by his real name Nico Plagemann, is an influential presence on the global techno and house sound. With regular shifts in his musical direction and stylistic development, he is living proof that change means progress. As an artist who is focused on the liberated space between breakbeat, driving house tracks and anthems for the dancefloor, he is unique and equipped with a compelling discography. “Unity of Opposites” marks his first album since the much-lauded “Rebellion Der Träumer“.

Nico Plagemann alias Kollektiv Turmstrasse has reached a point in his career where he can experiment freely and fearlessly. With “Unity of Opposites“, he channels his broad experience and tastes into a collection of music that stands alone as a testament to his artistry.

Amsterdam Dance Event – ADE completes 2023 program with over 2,900 artists

amsterdam dance event

The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has completed its program for ADE 2023 and is unveiling a special collaboration with Amsterdam staple Rijksmuseum and DJ upsammy as its Official Opening Event. The result is “Breathe, Walk, Die”, a unique performance where art and music converge. The event takes place in the iconic bicycle passage under the Rijksmuseum, made possible by the collaboration between the two cultural institutions. Breathe, Walk, Die will take place on Wednesday, October 18 at 7:30 PM and will also be streamed live on ADE’s channels.

ADE and Rijksmuseum present “Breathe, Walk, Die”

Breathe, Walk, Die” is a three-act theatrical performance that brings to life the exhibition Museum Boijmans van Beuningen at Rijksmuseum. The show is based on the musical tour that DJ upsammy composed for the exhibition under the direction of creative producer Tom Trago, in which life – from birth to death – is musically reflected through themes such as fear, lust and ambition. With live sounds by percussionist Valentina Magaletti and a visual interpretation by designer Theun Mosk, the performance promises to be one of the central showpieces of ADE 2023.

The collaboration between ADE and Rijksmuseum represents an important step for both institutions in merging different art disciplines to create unique, connecting experiences. This initiative also marks ADE’s direction towards becoming a more artistic platform that encourages young musical talent on a broader stage, and emphasizes the cultural value of electronic music.

“We are extremely proud that we have been able to set up this initiative in collaboration with the Rijksmuseum, and present electronic music’s positive impact and contribution to cultural heritage to an even wider audience,” says Jan-Willem van de Ven, Director of ADE.

Hendrikje Crebolder, Director of Development and Media at the Rijksmuseum, adds: “Thanks to our partnership with ADE and Heineken, we can offer a new audience a unique experience in the museum and beyond.”

Dom Dolla continues his 2023 trail-blaze with ‘Saving Up’

Dom Dolla

‘Saving Up’ is a heartfelt, summer drenched, hug-ya mate affirmation, born out of an end-of-summer studio session overlooking Brighton Beach (UK). ‘Saving Up’ is personal and reflective, exploring the theme of prioritizing relationships with loved ones over the relentless pursuit of personal fortunes, saving time for the ones you love.

2023 has been Dom Dolla’s biggest year to date, delivering a succession of critically acclaimed singles ‘Rhyme Dust’ w/ MK (Feb) and ‘Eat Your Man’ ft Nelly Furtado (June). Now, Dom Dolla returns with ‘Saving Up’ set for release October 6th via Three Six Zero Recordings, Ministry Of Sound UK and Sony Music ANZ.

Saving Up’ shows Dom Dolla is at the top of his production game. An uptempo disco-flavoured banger guaranteed to light up the dance floor. ‘Saving Up’ is a personal and reflective record, exploring the theme of prioritizing relationships with loved ones over the relentless pursuit of personal fortunes, saving time for the ones you love. Whilst a 100% original composition, ‘Saving Up’ has a distinct sample-like quality, synonymous with disco and house.

Here’s what Dom Dolla had to say:

“I was in the UK last year after a massive summer of touring when I caught the train down to Brighton with some friends and ended up in an incredible studio overlooking the beach. I was missing home a bit, but felt really inspired and wanted to write a feel-good record, reminding myself of the importance of saving time for the ones I care about and love.

Whilst (in the studio) overlooking the same site Fatboy Slim hosted his ‘Big Beach Boutique’, I was thinking about the UK’s dance music history and it inspired me so I decided to lean into the idea of writing something that sounds sampled, but isn’t. I often like to write records completely on my own, but it feels so perfect to have written this one alongside some good pals, Clementine Douglas, Caitlin Stubbs & Toby Scott.”

Dom Dolla has performed at notable venues and festivals throughout 2023; Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Brooklyn Mirage, EDC Las Vegas, Lollapalooza Chicago, Tomorrowland, We Are FSTVL, Leeds Festival and Solomun +1 at Pacha Ibiza. He’s set to perform a sold-out show at Electric Brixton in London (Oct 7th), followed by his final North American shows in Austin TX, Washington DC, Vancouver CA, III Points Miami and EDC Orlando. Dom will end 2023 with Australian festival headlines at Spilt Milk, Lost Paradise, and two sold-out hometown shows at Sidney Myer Music Bowl (24,000 tix).

Dom Dolla’s catalog is fast approaching ONE BILLION streams, and ‘Saving Up’ suggests he shows no signs of slowing down.

Mau P makes his debut on Black Book Records with “Dress Code”

Known for fearlessly tackling taboos, ‘Dress Code’ bumps clubgoers and tastemakers alike to embrace their originality.

Pushing the boundaries of his own production, Mau P delivers a minimalist vocal and infectious bassline laced across a dark groove, urging listeners to “let go and embrace yourself.”

“A dress code defines clothing expectations based on social norms, purposes and occasions. But we don’t want any of that.” Mau P says about his latest release.

“I don’t care what you look like or what you dress like, I just want you to have a good time – this record is meant for people to feel good about themselves and have a good time” he added.

The Dutch producer’s prestigious highlights include landing Tomorrowland‘s top 2 most played tracks (‘Drugs From Amsterdam‘ & ‘Metro‘), making a debut slammer at the iconic Space Miami, and selling out shows across the globe within the first 12 months of his career.
