Hardwell & Space 92 join forces for ‘The Abyss’

It’s the juggernaut collaboration we’ve all been waiting for; international dance music superstar Hardwell teams up with Techno’s best-selling artist of the past three years, Space 92, for the release of their brand new single and debut collab ‘The Abyss’ out now via Oliver Heldens’ Techno leaning imprint HILOMATIK.

It’s seldom that the electronic music community is treated to a junction of such immense stature, but when two of the circuit’s most impressive producers join forces in the studio, the effects are felt far and wide. Hardwell and Space 92’s ‘The Abyss’ is the collaboration we didn’t know we needed; an impeccable blend of Techno, Trance and Progressive House that transcends genres and unites fans from across these scapes.

One of the most highly-anticipated anthems of the summer, ‘The Abyss’ has been eagerly awaited by fans across the globe, and has already entered the touring playlists of countless international A – list DJs. Musical idols within their own rights, Hardwell and Space 92 collectively make up two of the industry’s most successful contemporary artists, with a mammoth list of chart – topping hits to their names.

Representing some of the best music the industry has to offer, ‘The Abyss’ provides us with an intoxicating blend of the pair’s respective sound palates, journeying through acid synth – work, intoxicating trance-inspired breaks and monumental basslines to create an anthemic gem that celebrates electronic music in all it’s forms.

Speaking about the record, Hardwell commented: “It’s no secret I’m a fan of dirty acid sounds, pulsating basslines, and big rave anthem energy. I’ve been a fan of Space 92’s music for a while now, and the prospect of combining the elements of trancey techno and distorted percussion he’s expertly nailed in his sound made this collaboration an exciting project.”

Claptone drops electrifying new club track ‘The Big Easy’

The enigmatic DJ and producer Claptone unveils his latest single ‘The Big Easy’ – the third club-ready anthem to be released on his new label Golden Recordings on August 11th.

‘The Big Easy’ is yet another banger from the club-focused Golden Recordings, with Claptone throwing hair-raising brass samples and sprinkles of strings on a huge house beat. “This track is smiling at you and wants you to smile back” in the words of Claptone himself.

An instant crowd-pleaser, poised to dominate festivals and clubs this summer.

It follows previous Golden Recordings singles ‘Flashdance’, the collaboration with New York legend Man Parrish, and ‘Euphoria’, which has gained over two million Spotify streams. The new label launched earlier this year is releasing music to “celebrate House Music and its everlasting golden era”, again Claptone himself.

Claptone has released three artist albums – ‘Charmer’ (2015), ‘Fantast’ (2019) and ‘Closer’ (2022) – over the past 8 years, featuring singles such as: ‘No Eyes’, ‘Heartbeat’, ‘Under The Moon’, ‘Queen of Ice’ and ‘Just A Ghost’. Café Mambo Ibiza launches ultimate DJ competition with Absolut

Café Mambo, home of the world’s iconic sunset and legendary DJs, is teaming up with leading premium vodka brand Absolut for the annual ultimate DJ competition.

The competition offers the winner a chance to play a sunset set at Café Mambo in September or October 2023, including flights with a friend to Ibiza for up to 500 euros in value and three nights of Grupo Mambo accommodation.

Entry is simple: entrants must upload a 30-minute mix on Mixcloud, tag it #CaféMamboAbsolutDJCompetition2023, and let your beats ignite the party.

Entrants will be judged by Café Mambo’s resident DJs including Jason Bye, Andy Baxter, Danny O, Sara de Araújo and Ryan McDermott, with particular consideration given to number of plays, positive feedback, originality, suitability for a sunset set, track selection, and the contestant’s ability to use Mixcloud and other social media platforms to promote themselves. Mixes must gain over 50 plays to be considered for the shortlist.

The lucky DJ will also be treated to daily breakfast at Café Mambo, access to the Las Mimosas Boutique Hotel & Spa pool and spa, and a masterclass with one of the Mambo resident DJs. Finally, the winner’s set will be livestreamed online, offering exposure and the potential to kickstarting the career of a new DJ talent.

Set in the heart of San Antonio, Café Mambo is world famous for its unrivalled sunset views. A student of the scene GIGEE, now based in Paris, has worked tirelessly on her craft. Honing her production and DJ skills, whilst nurturing, exploring and forcing the boundaries of her own sound. Releases for Mobilee, Katermukke and Desert Hearts have impressed and her sound – powerfully melodic with an adventurous progressive touch – now finds another spiritual home on Spectrum.

Title track Mind Games is a roof-raiser. Echoing staccato vocals and strong kick drum lay the foundation before GIGEE unveils her main melody. A stellar breakdown follows, rolling snares and even a splash of breakbeat, all coming together to forge an epic finale.

More exhilarating feels on the flip as we’re whisked away on a fantastical musical wave. Is This A Dream? Perhaps. Long warm bass chords hold us secure as the vocal asks the question. Angelic vocals and piano then lead us to the summit, where anthemic stabs launch us even higher.

CircoLoco Announces New York Halloween

Iconic global nightlife institution CircoLoco has announced their CircoLoco Halloween, alongside their US partner, New York City’s leading underground events collective Teksupport. CircoLoco’s highly anticipated return to New York will see the Ibiza mainstay host two nights of parties soundtracked by the world’s most noteworthy house and techno tastemakers.

This year’s marathon CircoLoco Halloween celebrations will feature performances from grime legend Skepta, who recently launched his new label Más Tiempo, Keinemusik members Rampa vs &ME, Innervisions co-founder Dixon, desert house duo Bedouin, Crosstown Rebels head and Day Zero founder Damian Lazarus, rising Dutch duo ANOTR, Detroit legend Seth Troxler, and a B2B from fellow Motor City visionaries Moodymann and Carl Craig.

The billing continues with Life and Death label head DJ Tennis vs Turkish-Italian DJ Carlita, Ellum Audio boss Maceo Plex, Israeli DJ and producer Guy Gerber, Canadian icon Blond:ish, Ireland’s Mano Le Tough, Berlin-based duo Mind Against, melodic techno titan Innellea, CircoLoco resident Chloe Caillet, and New York native Mink.

Spawned in 1999 as a Monday after-hours party at Ibiza superclub DC-10, CircoLoco has since expanded into a globally renowned music project, hosting events across the world. German producer and live act Nils Hoffmann releases his latest EP ‘Phenomena I’ on Anjunadeep

Berlin-based producer and live act Nils Hoffmann releases his latest EP ‘Phenomena I,’ following the release of lead single ‘Lonely.’

The EP showcases a new instrumental track titled ’Nightflower,’ featuring a mesmerizing synth lead accompanied by warm pads. The EP includes the previously released single ‘Lonely,’ featuring the talented Rae Morris, who has notably collaborated with Lane 8 on the track ’No Fun’ and garnered praise from Clash, NME, and The Guardian.

Nils’ latest single follows the release of his highly praised album ‘A Radiant Sign,’ which has amassed over 20m streams and radio support on BBC Radio 1, SiriusXM Chill, KCRW, and more. The album reached #1 on iTunes Dance and was championed by the likes of Maceo Plex, Joris Voorn, and Eelke Kleijn, to name a few.

Aladag unveils his powerful new single ‘Levent’ on Diynamic

Berlin-based DJ, producer and director Aladag unveils his powerful new single ‘Levent’, out 28th July on Diynamic.

Building a minimal techno groove from the ground up with handclaps and haunting glitches, ‘Levent’ is a brooding masterstroke elevated by soaring synths and rap vocals. Exhibiting Aladag’s craft for melody, the track morphs into a wave of slow-burn chord changes, pumping bass and funk guitar as it reaches its climax.

Following the hooky techno of ‘My Religion’, which turned heads with its catchy central vocal chant, ‘Levent’ is the second single from upcoming mini-album Picture: Aladag, out later this month on underground German electronic label Diynamic.

Aladag is a dreamer and a doer. For a long time his main focus was being a director, writer, and producer in the film industry. Bringing visions from the mind to the screen, be they his own or helping others with theirs, has shaped a life centred around the process of creation.

However, music has been a constant companion on his journey, from the earliest beginnings – starting to DJ at age 13 and producing at 14 – to co-writing and co-producing multiple German Gold and Platinum records, until now, when he has awarded the musical muse the lead role in his life once again.

He is also a river born from multiple confluences. His Turkish roots, him growing up in Stuttgart’s hip-hop scene and later finding a new home in Berlin’s techno clubs, all within a family (both biological and chosen) which lives and breathes creativity, has blended a colourful tincture that is so clearly audible in his first release, the Picture: Aladag on Diynamic.

Playing with opposites, crossing boundaries and searching within, Aladag is a deeply introverted human who is daring to bring his emotions to light. For Aladag, music is a connector between souls and the hero of his journey.

‘Levent’ is another deep dive into Aladag’s well of creativity, building yet more anticipation for Aladag’s upcoming mini-album Picture: Aladag.

Ushuaïa Ibiza announces winner of the ANTS: NEXT GEN DJ Competition

Ushuaïa Ibiza is proud to announce the winner of the ANTS: NEXT GEN DJ Competition: Us Two. The West Midlands pair will now get the opportunity to perform on Ushuaïa Ibiza’s world-famous poolside stage, when they make their ANTS debut on Saturday 9th September, performing alongside Hot Since 82, Wade, Francisco Allendes, Yousef and Miane.

Launched in collaboration with Beatport in April earlier this year, the ANTS: NEXT GEN DJ Competition provides an unrivaled opportunity for aspiring DJ talent to supercharge their career. Winners, Us Two, will become part of the ANTS family, one of underground electronic music’s most influential collectives, which is celebrating a decade at the top this summer.

Along with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at Ushuaïa Ibiza, the pair will receive expert career mentorship to nurture their artistic development, a production masterclass with an ANTS resident DJ, and an array of DJ essentials, courtesy of Beatport and Pioneer.

Over 1000 entries were judged by a panel of leading DJs and influential industry experts, including ANTS residents Andrea Oliva, Chelina Manuhutu, SYREETA, Francisco Allendes and Nic Fanciulli, along with Yann Pissenem, (CEO & Founder of The Night League, Ushuaïa, Hï Ibiza, & ANTS), Leslee Clarke (Booking Manager, The Night League, Ushuaïa & Hï Ibiza), and Itziar Gonzalez (ANTS Brand Manager).

Paul van Dyk teams up with Ciaran McAuley on new track “Someone Like You”
