Paris-born and bred DJ & producer Notre Dame has gone from rising star status to becoming an established favorite over the last few years, having been featured in the sets of the likes of Solomun and Vintage Culture, toured the globe, and even picked up two highly coveted Essential New Tune features from BBC R1’s Pete Tong.
Following up his 2023 ‘Amuse’ EP on Bedouin’s Human By Default, Notre Dame returns to the label with a stunning remix of the label bosses’ ‘Make Me Feel’ single from last year featuring Iveta.
Notre Dame Make Me Feel remix
Notre Dame’s take on ‘Make Me Feel’ is a euphoria-filled melodic epic layering strident drums, uplifting chords and a nebulous blend of pulsating synths with reverb-treated vocals that create an almost celestial vibe.
Released alongside a music video shot from The Cathedral Recording Studios in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the deeply moving acoustic interpretation strips the track to its essence, amplifying its emotional weight through intimate storytelling and organic instrumentation.
Fresh from the release of his captivating hit single “Mesmerized” at the end of January, internationally acclaimed German producer, multi-instrumentalist, and live act Monolink now delivers a hauntingly beautiful acoustic version of the record – out now via Embassy One.
With this new interpretation, Monolink lays bare the song’s emotional core, intensifying the lyrics’ evocative power and reaffirming his status as one of electronic music’s most soulful storytellers.
By removing the electronic layers that framed the original, Monolink’s acoustic rendition transforms “Mesmerized” into an intimate reflection on love, longing and human connection.
His deeply expressive vocals, paired with delicate guitar work and subtle piano melodies, evoke a timeless folk influence – one that aligns seamlessly with his artistic ethos. In a year marked by renewed appreciation for songwriting legends, Monolink’s ability to merge traditional storytelling with contemporary production techniques reaffirms his place as one of the scene’s most distinguished artists.
Monolink – Mesmerized acoustic
Speaking about this new interpretation, Monolink shared:
“I wanted to reimagine ‘Mesmerized’ in a way that brings out its core emotion. By taking it back to its acoustic roots, the song transforms into something more vulnerable and intimate — a reflection of the human condition in its simplest form.”
Accompanying the release is a beautifully composed music video, filmed at The Cathedral Recording Studios in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, North Germany. Directed by Benji Saul, the video presents a cinematic, introspective take on the song’s narrative, offering a fresh and deeply personal perspective on the love story first introduced in the original music video.
With its warm, intimate setting and raw performances by Monolink (guitar and vocals), Anja Lotta (piano and backing vocals) and Toby Siebert (keyboards and additional vocals), the video further amplifies the emotional resonance of the acoustic arrangement.
As Monolink continues to redefine the boundaries between folk, electronic and cinematic soundscapes, this acoustic rework serves as a testament to his unparalleled ability to craft music that is as emotionally stirring as it is sonically innovative.
By embracing the organic warmth of acoustic instrumentation, he invites listeners to experience “Mesmerized” through a lens of deep reflection and soul-stirring beauty.
