Jul Big Green Crowned Winner of Kato On The Track’s “Hot Takes” Tournament on Audius

After weeks of competition and more than 2,000 submissions, Kato On The Track and Audius have crowned Jul Big Green the winner of the inaugural Hot Takes Tournament, earning him over $15,000 in prizes.

The Hot Takes Tournament was launched earlier this summer by Kato On The Track in partnership with Audius to spotlight independent artists making great music outside the industry’s typical popularity-driven models.

Over seven weeks, Kato narrowed more than 2,000 song submissions down to a Sweet 16, culminating in Jul Big Green‘s winning track.

“The Hot Takes Tournament showed every music creator out there that talent still matters,” said Kato On The Track.

Out of thousands of submissions, I picked Jul Big Green’s ‘Hometown Love’ because it has the infectious energy we need right now. Every finalist was an independent artist making great music, which is exactly why I created Hot Takes – to spotlight talent beyond the industry’s popularity contest”, he added.

Jul Big Green fuses Pop, Hip-Hop, and Rock with an energy that resonates across diverse audiences. Since releasing his debut single “Get Away” in 2014, he has performed at venues including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Ohio State Fair, while also appearing on Fox 8 Cleveland.

His music has earned him recognition such as the 2017 Akron High Arts Festival Music Juried Award, and his projects include the EP All Things (2015) and full-length album 5am to Midnight (2019).

Here’s what Jul Big Green had to say:

“I’m ecstatic over winning. Honestly, I was just happy to make it into the competition, let alone win the whole thing. This was my first time releasing a pop-reggae song, so the positive reception to ‘Hometown Love’ has been incredibly validating. I’m excited to keep growing my music and reach more listeners.”

Michael Canitrot Brings Monumental Tour to Life at the Iconic Château de Chambord

On Friday night, the Renaissance walls of the Château de Chambord came alive as Michael Canitrot brought his Monumental Tour to one of France’s most treasured landmarks. The evening was a fusion of architectural grandeur, technological achievement, and electronic music’s very finest, reaffirming Canitrot’s Monumental Tour as one of Europe’s top live spectacles.

The night placed Canitrot‘s artistic direction at the forefront, using Chambord as a backdrop to tell an audiovisual story about both heritage and progression. While the château provided the canvas and technology the colors, but it was Canitrot’s brushstrokes as a DJ that made the night truly come alive.

With proceeds from the evening supporting the restoration of the château’s historic François I wing, the project once again proved itself as much about preservation as celebration.

Commenting on the night, he says:

“Chambord is a unique place where history, architecture, and grandeur come together in the service of beauty. More than five centuries after its creation, this masterpiece continues to captivate. To make my music resonate there and inscribe it within such a setting will remain an unforgettable experience.”

With Château de Chambord now part of the Monumental Tour‘s growing story, Canitrot continues a journey that has already left its mark on landmarks such as Notre-Dame de Paris, Mont-Saint-Michel, the Eiffel Tower, Paris’s Palais Royal, and Zaragoza‘s Basílica del Pilar. That vision resonated stronger than ever at Chambord, where centuries-old stone met cutting-edge sound design in a night that, too, will stand the test of time.

Chloe Battelle Porcelain
Chloe Battelle – Porcelain

With both ‘Suro’ and ‘Anesthesia’ having already been offered as individual singles ahead of the EP release, Chloe Battelle now introduces two fresh productions as part of the collection – ‘Slipstream’ and ‘Modelsex’ – completing the project in a cohesive and well-balanced way.

In each track, a clear thread runs throughout: these are productions built with the listener in mind. Whether immersing them in raw, textured dynamics or delivering energy through high-impact beats and momentum-led moments, Chloe Battelle has designed an EP that will translate well across listening environments. From the club floor to introspective settings, it is a collection that speaks to the range and forward-thinking perspective behind her approach, offering contrast at each turn.

Built around a framework of tight, polished beats and layers of fluid basslines, textured pads, and raw, sweeping synths, there is an industrial edge to the ‘Porcelain’ EP – a distinct energy that throbs through each track.

Featuring stuttering motifs, bouncy leads, gritty elements, and skilfully manipulated vocal lines, the tracks morph into unique arrangements, blending intensity, precision, and experimentation to craft cinematic soundscapes that feel equally atmospheric and hard-hitting in sound.

An EP that reflects Chloe Battelle’s distinct and versatile approach to sound design, ‘Porcelain’ marks a bold step forward in both her creative development and the path that lies ahead. Applying a forward-thinking lens to influences rooted in nostalgia, she continues to refine her signature sound, eager to evolve with intent, clarity and direction.

“I’m thrilled about this collaboration. I’ve admired Armin and his work for so many years. Back in the early 2000s, I released one of his earliest records under his ‘Problem Boy’ alias on my label Southeast Recordings.

To now come together on ‘House Party’ feels like a true full-circle moment. It’s a groovy techno-trance record that instantly grabbed me, and when I was approached to do this collab, saying yes was the easiest decision ever.” Nicole Moudaber
