Ultra Music Festival 2025 will host Solomun’s Diynamic for an exclusive stage takeover

Diynamic’s debut Ultra Music Festival takeover will feature a headlining set from Solomun himself, as well as first-time festival performances from Four Tet, Mau P, Chloé Caillet, and Rafael Cerato.

Earlier this week, Ultra Music Festival announced plans to host the first-ever, world exclusive Anyma B2B Solomun performance on the Main Stage at the festival’s 25th anniversary edition next March.

Now, Ultra has revealed that underground luminary Solomun will also bring his Diynamic record label to the festival for the very first time, hosting an exclusive stage takeover at the RESISTANCE MegaStructure.

Diynamic‘s debut Ultra Music Festival takeover will feature a solo headlining set from Solomun himself, as well as first-time festival performances from esteemed artists like English electronic experimentalism pioneer Four Tet, Dutch tech-house superstar Mau P, Parisian multi-instrumentalist/producer Chloé Caillet, and French underground maestro Rafael Cerato.

Founded in 2006 by tastemaker Solomun, Hamburg-based electronic music label Diynamic was born with an instinctive DIY attitude, and unabridged determination to succeed forged into its very DNA. Nearly a decade since its inception, Diynamic has become one of electronic music’s most forward-thinking curatorial forces, flexing the label’s textural sonic palette at festivals in cities like Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Istanbul.

Few artists glide through resonant soundscapes with such finesse as Solomun, showcasing his technical wizardry across the world’s most prestigious stages. Just this year alone, the world-renowned DJ headlined Main Stage sets at 14 different festivals globally, and achieved massive success with sold-out shows.

All this while continuing another stellar season of his celebrated Solomun +1 residency at Pacha Ibiza, which has been a staple on the island since 2013. Looking ahead, Solomun will return to Tulum for a headline show at Tehmplo Tulum in January 2025, followed by a headline show in Mar del Plata, Argentina.

XP Music Futures Unveils 2024 Initiatives to Foster Creativity and Empowerment in Music

XP Music Futures, the powerhouse driving the MENA music ecosystem, proudly announces a dynamic lineup of initiatives for 2024 aimed at nurturing emerging talent, empowering industry professionals, and elevating regional music culture on a global stage.

With an array of programs ranging from artist mentorship and entrepreneurial support to gender equity and immersive learning, XP Music Futures continues to push the boundaries of innovation in the MENA region and beyond.

XPERFORM: Competition Empowering Regional Talent

Launched in April, XPERFORM is a platform giving regional singing artists the chance to perform at XP Music Futures and Soundstorm and to expand their careers through opportunities with MDLBEAST Records.

The initiative has introduced a panel of new judges, including Shamma Hamdan, Defencii, Hassan Abouelrouss, and Rawan Alfassi. Live auditions took place on July 6-7 at the Music Hub in Riyadh, where promising talents showcased their skills.

XPERFORM not only identifies rising stars but also provides a launchpad for regional artists to reach new heights and take the next step in their careers. XPERFORM will be re-launching their mini series from October and the final episode will be recorded during SOUNDSTORM 2024 where the XPERFORM winner will perform!

XCHANGE: Shaping the Region’s Music Conversations

Ahead of XP Music Futures, MDLBEAST launched XCHANGE workshops across key cities to address the latest challenges and trends in the region’s music industry. Held in Kuwait on May 7 and Tunisia on June 8, with upcoming sessions in Oman, these workshops are instrumental in shaping the XP conference program by identifying hot topics and fostering community connections.

The final workshop will be hosted at XP Music Futures from December 5-7, bringing together industry experts and enthusiasts to dive into meaningful discussions that shape the future of the MENA music scene.

HUNNA: Amplifying Female Voices in Music

HUNNA, a women-led initiative derived from the Arabic plural of “she,” is on a mission to champion and amplify female talent within the music industry. By providing essential support for both personal and professional growth, HUNNA aims to break down barriers and foster equity across the MENA music landscape.

HUNNA offers its community of 100+ members opportunities for mentorship, masterclasses, gatherings and being more visible in the industry. The initiative creates a vital space for women to thrive and reshape outdated systems, building a more inclusive music industry.

Sound Futures: Investing in Innovation

Sound Futures offers aspiring musicians and innovators the opportunity to pitch groundbreaking ideas to industry investors. This “Shark Tank” style initiative seeks to secure funding and mentorship for innovative projects that can reshape the music landscape.

The campaign launched in early August, with Investors and selected startups announced later in the summer. The finalists will undergo pitch training before presenting to investors live at XP Music Futures from December 5-7.

Storm Shaker: The Ultimate DJ Competition

Storm Shaker is a DJ competition inviting aspiring talents from the MENA region to showcase their craft in front of top industry figures and MDLBEAST Records representatives. Launched on 23 August, the competition’s finalists will battle it out during XP Music Futures in December, This year, the winner will go on a tour around MENA and Europe, starting with Soundstorm 2024 KSA, and then O’Beach Dubai in the UAE, EXIT Festival in Serbia, MOGA Festival in Morocco, and BSMT The Club in Tunisia,

Artist Management Bootcamp: Shaping the Next Generation of Leaders

The Artist Management Bootcamp is a two-week intensive program designed to develop the next wave of artist managers through expert-led sessions and mentorship. With applications opening in July and the program kicking off in November, participants will gain crucial industry knowledge and skills.

Successful candidates will receive certification during XP Music Futures and benefit from networking opportunities and potential internships. This year, the initiative partnered with key industry leaders such as Youtube, Warner Music Middle East, Sony Music Entertainment and more.

Xine: Capturing the Pulse of Regional Music Culture

The Xine is an annual freeform publication capturing the essence of the MENA music scene through insights gathered from the XCHANGE workshops. With contributions from regional journalists, photographers, and designers, the Xine serves as a time capsule of the region’s creative energy. The 2024 edition will launch at XP Music Futures, celebrating the vibrant culture and diverse voices that drive the regional music ecosystem.

Tomorrowland presents CORE Medellín returns in 2025

Music fans across the world can already start dreaming of 2025, as CORE Medellín returns to Colombia for two nights on February 14 & February 15, 2025. Joining forces once again with Colombian-based Breakfast Live for a unique two-day festival, the first magnificent CORE stage with its stunning face design will debut in Parque Norte Medellín, located in the heart of Colombia’s second-largest city where music and nature come together.

Earlier this year, nearly 40.000 music aficionados were treated to a sold-out and unforgettable two-day festival adventure at the first edition of CORE Medellín. CORE‘s majestic visage, a real artistic masterpiece people may have seen at Tomorrowland Belgium, Tomorrowland Brasil, Tomorrowland Winter, CORE Tulum or in one of the many videos online, found its origins in Tomorrowland‘s digital festival and turned in no time into a true crowd favorite and Tomorrowland classic.

CORE‘s local ally will be Breakfast Live, a promoter with over 10 years of experience in the creation, conceptualization, and production of festivals, events, and entertainment in Colombia. An outgrowth of HARD’s tenure as an evolving multi-genre curational force in North America, HARD Selects aims to spotlight the diverse global underground music community while paying homage to and celebrating the Los Angeles scene’s DIY ethos, aesthetic, culture and selectors.

Los Angeles has long been an undervalued contributor to the fabric of the global underground culture, banished from the spotlight and forced into DIY spaces in the city’s forgotten underbellies.

HARD Selects positions itself as a spotlight for this culturally rich network, embodying its passion to present authentic dancefloor experiences, pop-ups, and festival stages reflective of the sounds of the global landscape.

HARD has already began this mission in its recent curatorial efforts, exemplified with key festival, club night bookings, and releases on its HARD Records imprint with the likes of Interplanetary Criminal, INVT, DJ Heartstring, Overmono, JYOTY, Panteros666, Bianca Oblivion, AK Sports, Boyz Noize, and more.

In the coming weeks, HARD will announce a series of showcase events in partnership with key promoters from the LA underground, celebrating shapeshifting sounds plucked from the global scene.

The first in the series of showcase events will be Teenage Dreams, the energetic party brand helmed by Berlin-based stalwarts DJ Heartstring. The duo will bring their speedy club-meets-trance sound to LA alongside Aussie producer AK SPORTS, Berlin’s underground maestro Boys Noize, Club Heart Broken co-head Malugi, the infectious Patrick Mason, and Stay on Sight’s Skin on Skin. The bill continues with local favorites Etari, Oscar Osorio, and OZA.

Taking place on November 9, Teenage Dreams is held in collaboration with Stranger Than, Tunnel, and Lights down Low at The SUPER-MRKT, a newly converted venue repurposed from a former grocery store. Led by Stranger Than, The SUPER-MRKT will now be the epicenter for an array of eclectic shows held from September to November, offering a new home for dance music in the city.

HARD will showcase the initial launch of the Selects universe in a series of hosted DJ set streams in partnership with burgeoning LA multi-media outpost Goyo Club. HARD will take over Goyo’s iconic Electric Cleaners series at the end of September, continuing the Goyo Club mission of transforming a family owned Koreatown laundromat into a home for electronic music experimentation.

The takeover features an eclectic mix of local underground talent including Warp Mode members Bianca Oblivion B2B Star Eyes, Gyration Station founders Trax Unit, and AUNTIE. co-founder Etari.
