Acclaimed electronic musician, producer and activist Moby shares a cassette remix of “Precious Mind,” featuring India Carney, along with a self-directed video. He also released the Quiet Home DJ Mix, featuring new and unreleased versions of music from the always centered at night album out now.
Moby hands in a new cassette remix of his India Carney collaboration “Precious Mind,” that featured on his widely acclaimed 2024 album always centered at night, deftly transforming the jazzy haze of the original into a widescreen trip-hop epic. A procession of swooping strings, resplendent synth lines and swooning pads underpins India’s emotive delivery.
Moby also returns with a second DJ mix called Quiet Home DJ Mix, featuring new and unreleased versions of music from always centered at night. As the title suggests, this mix leans into playlisting themes of relaxation, study time and offers some dreamy alternate takes on the album from Moby himself at a similar laidback tempo.
Moby ‘cassette remix’ of “Precious Mind”
Even by Moby’s standards, always centered at night is a bit special. The album features 13 collaborations in all, from names you might recognize to others you undoubtedly will come to recognize.
Lead single “dark days” was recorded with acclaimed soul-jazz singer-songwriter Lady Blackbird, a defiant, rhythmic work propelled by her alluring, deep vocals and earnest soul.
Other collaborators include serpentwithfeet on the achingly beautiful “on air,” and Benjamin Zephaniah on the propulsive, break- beat driven “where is your pride?,” a spoken word with a powerful message delivered in the late dub poet’s characteristically warm Handsworth burr.
“As a vegan activist, and as a wise and compassionate man, Benjamin inspired me for many years,” says Moby. “I hope that ‘where is your pride?’ honors his legacy and also draws people’s attention to his life, work, and principles.”
Other wonderful voices on ‘always centered at night’, include Sudanese, Netherlands-based chanteuse Gaidaa on “transit”, London based Burundian royal refugee J.P. Bimeni, and Kingston raised, London based Aynzli Jones.
Always centered at night–the album–is the continuation of the project of the same name that Moby announced in 2022. He saw this project as a similar service to the idiosyncratic New York record shops that he frequented in the late 1980s, where he’d hear something recondite and exciting and it would open up whole new worlds. always centered at night was his way of working with special writers and vocalists to make songs inspired by the spirit of musical discovery.
In his pursuit of new sounds, Moby has become something of a collector of voices. He’s a connoisseur of the timbre and texture of human vocal chords, whether sampling artists like Bessie Jones, Vera Hall or Boy Blue on Play, or working with superstars like David Bowie, Ozzy Osborne and Britney Spears.
“I’m always looking. Sometimes it’s about going on YouTube. Sometimes it’s Spotify. Other times, it’s just walking around Lower Manhattan going to karaoke places, where I’ve actually found a couple of singers. It’s this constant process of looking for voices, and getting excited and inspired when I find a wonderful voice.”
These are often personal songs, and the personal is the political, as is the border-defying nature of the work. Moreover, they’re crepuscular, conceived at twilight, with many of the styles of the last 30 years in electronic music coming to the fore, such as the trip-hoppy “we’re going wrong” featuring Brie O’Banion, the broken beat, almost drum ‘n’ bass influenced “medusa” (with the aforementioned Aynzli Jones), or the Latin house of “feelings come undone” with Raquel Rodriguez.
Since its inception–that has also included collaborations with José James, “ache for,” and Akemi Fox “fall back” it has amassed collective streams of over 15M across platforms. All 13 collaborations are collected together here for the first time.

London’s The Steel Yard is celebrating a decade at the top on Friday, October 25th.
The space is housed inside three beautifully restored and cavernous Victorian railway arches in the heart of London. It has a long, rich history because way before it was a cult music venue, the spaces were used as a maintenance yard for trains and still include a vast steel crane that was used to maneuver the engines into and out of the arches.
In 2014, The Steel Yard on Allhallows Lane was launched by Regan McVaddy and former Cable Nightclub and SEOne owner Euan Johnston following an extensive renovation of the Loose Cannon venue on the same site.
“We took inspiration from the arches’ past, kept their industrial feel and made the brickwork a prominent feature. We’re running a high spec Nova line array sound system plus plenty of cutting-edge production that brings each party to life every weekend.”Regan McVaddy – Founder
The Steel Yard hosts influential brands and parties like Keinemusik, Andy C‘s Ram Records, the annual DJ Mag Awards, 20 Years of Virus Records, Spotify Live, DJ Frictions‘s Shogun Audio and house, garage and techno parties like Solid Grooves, LWE, Labyrinth, Dankie Sounds, City Splash, Free From Sleep, Parable, UKG and Old School RnB Brunches. It is even home to the capital’s Bongo’s Bingo.
“Since opening, we’ve always had a passion for diverse and forward-looking programming and this has kept The Steel Yard at the forefront of London’s club scene. Such a wide array of talent has lit up our arches from Jarvis Cocker to Leftfield, Pendulum to Skepta and Richie Hawtin through to Honey Dijon.”Barry Sharp – Programmer
Now the last decade will be celebrated with this special birthday event. French DJ and producer MooJo runs his Calamar label out of Hong Kong and takes great inspiration from movie soundtracks. He adds that to a mix of timeless grooves and ethnic sounds to cook up fresh Afro house and melodic sets that are emotive and immersive.
DJ Antares is a Steel Yard favorite who has previously hosted his influential Konflict events at the venue. He will offer a journey through many different emotions and senses with support from Londoner Redfraya, a fast-rising talent with a knack for laying down deep, hypnotic and melodic sounds.
London would sound very different without The Steel Yard and never has there been a better time to celebrate that than with this special 10th anniversary party.

In July 2024, Tomorrowland celebrated its legendary 20-year anniversary edition with 400.000 souls from over 200 nations gathering during two weekends of magic.
The world renowned electronic music festival is now thrilled to announce its new collaboration with Amazon Music to present ‘We Are Tomorrow‘ – a touching documentary that provides an in-depth look into the magic, music and global community that defines Tomorrowland.
‘We Are Tomorrow‘ covers the unique journeys and personal stories of six People of Tomorrow attending the Belgian festival in 2024: Brazilian DJ & producer Vintage Culture, Curtis and Stacey from the United Kingdom, Julian and Danté from Argentina and Héline from Singapore – capturing the hearts of music enthusiasts, festivalgoers, and anyone curious about the cultural phenomenon that is Tomorrowland.
The short film is now available to watch on the Amazon Music app and on YouTube. The exclusive premiere of the authentic documentary took place in São Paulo, including the attendance of Brazil’s superstar Vintage Culture.
Tomorrowland We Are Tomorrow
Vintage Culture
When it comes to dance music, there are few bigger global stars than Brazilian DJ & producer Vintage Culture. Renowned for having one of the most hectic tour schedules in the industry, he plays long sets at the biggest festivals and clubs around the world.
This year, Vintage Culture took over Tomorrowland‘s iconic Mainstage in Belgium for the third time in his career. The documentary follows Lukas at his house in São Paulo, telling the story of how he grew up and became the DJ and person he is today. He created a special remix of his new track ‘Find A Way‘, that has been exclusive released on Amazon Music.
Here’s what Vintage Culture had to say:
“Tomorrowland has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. I’m proud to be one of them. This documentary gives us an inside look at the spirit of the Tomorrowland festival and the positive impact it has on so many.
It’s a behind the scenes view of the artists, fans and the team that makes it all work. When I was a kid, the dream of playing at Tomorrowland filled me with hope. Finally performing on the Mainstage was a dream come true. Thank you Tomorrowland for the amazing memories and so many more to come!”
Last year’s ‘We Are Tomorrow‘ documentary feat. Alok won a Webby Award, named the Best Video – Events & Livestream in the 28th Annual Webby Awards Internet Celebration. Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the Internet.
‘We Are Tomorrow‘ is a 23-minute cinematic journey, portraying the stories of Vintage Culture and how he grew up and became the person he is today, British healthcare provider Curtis who lost his foot during a motorcycle accident and his girlfriend Stacey, Argentinian best friends Julian & Danté who made their childhood dream come true, and the 18-year-old Héline who brought her parents along on the adventure for the first time.
Each telling personal stories on what Tomorrowland means to them, alongside spectacular new footage of the festival. Transcending the boundaries of music, culture and emotion, ‘We Are Tomorrow‘ gives viewers an intimate look at the iconic music festival right from their homes, portraying the different protagonists in a raw and authentic way during their journey and joining the celebration on the festival grounds.
Vintage Culture added: “I think that I couldn’t live without music. Music has this power to connect, so I let the music speak for myself. When words fail, music speaks. Because music is endless, you have endless possibilities. My head is always thinking about music.
Tomorrowland represents a lot for me. I’m very proud that they are in Brazil, my home. It’s very important to the scene. I remember watching the first aftermovies and saying, one day I want to be there.”
Curtis & Stacey
Curtis is a 34-year-old healthcare provider from Bristol (UK), whose life hung by a thread last year. In May 2023, a few months before he was due to come to Tomorrowland with his girlfriend Stacey, he had a serious motorcycle accident. He lost his right foot on the spot, and during emergency surgery, they had no choice but to amputate it to the knee. A very tough rehabilitation followed, which is still ongoing.
He now has a prosthetic leg and has been declared unable to work for the next 3 to 5 years. Curtis loves festivals and traveling. He’s been to Tomorrowland before and calls it his favorite music festival. This year will be Stacey‘s first time, and Curtis can’t wait to show her everything.
Curtis: “I have music on for everything. It just always lifts me up. There’s always a song for any type of mood. I actually got really emotional, which I didn’t expect. It just meant so much to me. It’s a hard feeling to describe, but it’s pure ecstasy. It was incredible.
Along my path of rehabilitation, to find myself at a festival – not just any festival – my favorite festival, is a real feat. I really do think now I’ve done this, I really do believe I can do anything and nothing is going to stop me. It’s the start of the new me and I’m looking forward to what’s to come.”
Stacey: “Because we were originally going to Tomorrowland two months after his accident, obviously I had to break the news to him about we weren’t going. After that, it’s always been our goal to go again. But we thought we were going to go next year. So the fact that he’s recovered enough to be able to go this year, it’s just amazing. He never thought we would have got that this year.”
Julian & Danté
Julian and Danté (both 27) from Argentina became best friends at high school because of their shared love for electronic music. As 14-year-olds they were completely mesmerized, they had no idea such music festivals existed and were totally overwhelmed.
At the time, they were chatting to each other about how much they wanted to experience something like this for themselves, and it became their ultimate dream. A dream that seemed immensely far away for two young Argentinians who were struggling. They felt like they were on the wrong side of the world, in a place with little work, having to watch their own families struggle to make ends meet.
After graduating, Julian started working as a developer and started saving money and looking for ways to go abroad. Since November 2023, he has been living and working as a developer in Australia. At the end of last year, he decided to make their joint dream come true, booking Global Journey tickets for the two of them, unbeknownst to Danté.
Julian paid for everything. Danté didn’t know what hit him, because for him at that moment, the dream seemed further than ever. The news that Julian is making his dream come true is a huge bright spot in his life. For Danté, it will be the first time he leaves Argentina, and the first time at a music festival.
Julian: “I couldn’t have done it without him. I could have gone alone, but given the passion that we both have for the festival, I would have felt incomplete if it wasn’t with him.”
Danté: “Electronic music is the only music that lifts me up in any state of mind and it’s the only one that makes me feel something that no one else gives me. To think that we had dreamed about this for so long in high school. Unbelievable.
The dream of coming here to Tomorrowland was born around 2012. We started watching videos, songs with pictures from the festival and we noticed that we really liked the music. The desire for coming was getting bigger and bigger.”
Héline
Héline (18) lives with her mother and father in Singapore and is in the final year of her high school. Her brother lives in Canada, but the family tries to come together at least once a year. As she is turning 18 years old this year, Héline’s parents surprised her with a family trip to Tomorrowland. Their visit to the festival will also be a goodbye, since Héline will stay in Rotterdam to study and will have to miss her parents and brother for a really long time.
Héline: “When I was just looking at the crowd and just wondering how everyone has their own story and their own life, their own loved ones. It made me feel like myself. I felt good. I feel like no one would judge you. I was there to just have fun. It’s nice to be able to be with other people who are there for the same reasons. I feel like people are just here to celebrate life and love.”

Doors open at 10pm with awards ceremony taking place 11.30 to 12.30. BBC Radio 1 tastemaker Jaguar returns to present the awards alongside respected electronic music personality Katie Knight, a regular face in Ibiza, who will also be interviewing artists backstage after the ceremony while the after-party kicks off in the club at 12.30am

DJ Awards
The reboot of the DJ Awardswas always planned to recreate what’s been done before but better, which is why the number of awards has been reduced to 19 with a surprise award announced on the night. The new categories reflect the new state of the scene and also lay the foundation for the DJ Awards to expand its reputation and reach beyond Ibiza and promote dance music culture to a broader global audience while returning the integrity of the brand.
Interspersed with voted categories, the winners of these special Industry Awards will be presented with their trophies and they have been selected by a specially assembled team of industry professionals.
Ibiza Icon Luciano
This award goes to anyone who has, over a long time, made a profound impact on the scene in Ibiza. Someone who has played multiple venues, grown with the success of the island, and given back to it in a social capacity.
Cadenza boss Luciano is very much that man. He has DJed in the local prison, hosted talks at public schools, played every venue on the island, held legendary residencies, lived in Ibiza for years and made Spain his home. He has always stayed true to his art and will always be synonymous with the White Isle.
Ibiza Party of the Summer David Guetta’s F*** Me I’m Famous at Ushuaia and Future Rave at Hi Ibiza
This award does what it says on the tin. The success of a party isn’t judged by the number of attendees, it’s about the commitment to creating a unique experience, the loyalty to a venue and ability to showcase a wide spectrum of creative sounds and abilities and have a real impact on dancers.
The famous Frenchman is the only DJ on the island to host two of his own parties and they are the only place he plays in the summer which is a throwback to how parties used to be run back in the day.
They very much showcase different sides of his sounds – FMIF is more commercial and VIP lead, while Future Rave offers up and comers a chance to shine. Both events place huge attention on the production with dancers, performers and the VIP experience all taken care of.
Ibiza Track of the Summer Adam Port, Stryv – Move feat. Malachiii
Historically, this has always been a track you hear in the day, at night, on the beach, in the super clubs. And that is certainly the case this year. This track has been played by everyone from all different musical backgrounds, in beach bars and in the main room, on terraces and at villa parties.
It has had more than 200 million streams on Spotify and crossed over into so many different worlds. It’s catchy, singalong and the true sound of summer.
What’s Hot Global Keinemusik
This is a new category given to a brand or artists that have elevated themselves in the last year onto a whole new level of popularity and success.
Keinemusik have done just that and have been everywhere this year playing standout sets in Ibiza but also hosting their own unique events under their iconic cloud. They are able to pull in crowds of up to 35000 people at festival sized events and they always sell out, such is their appeal to a wide range of clubbers from all musical backgrounds and ages.
The trio have also done lots for up and coming artists., have remained true to their core and even recently raised 100, 000 euros for charity in Ibiza.
Global Festival Defected Croatia
This award is given to a festival that has been newly or re-established and is doing something fresh on a global scale such as invigorating a new territory, promoting a certain sound or genre and putting a scene or place on the map.
Defected‘s superb three day festival in Tisno, Croatia has done just that. It is loyal to the label’s famous house roots with a wonderful mix of established, new and upcoming artists. The audience is diverse in terms of age, gender and sexuality with local and international acts all featuring in a house-centric soundtrack that is both quintessential and cutting-edge.
Play It Back Award Michael Bibi’s One Life Campaign
This is an award given to a person, institution or event that has bettered the scene socially, charitably or in a humanitarian fashion.
After his very public battle with central nervous system lymphoma and recent return to full health, Michael Bibi has put great focus on raising awareness about the rare form of brain cancer he suffered from. He has put a real spotlight on it with his One Life campaign and deserves great recognition.
He has raised plenty of money including £124,832 made from his Finsbury Park takeover in London which went to Royal Marsden Cancer Charity but also has a policy of creating awareness at his events. That one in London had a stem cell transplant charity on site to help recruit attendees to sign up to the stem cell register. This forward thinking, positive, altruistic action has all been done from the dance floor up so makes Bibi a more than worthy recipient.
Eye on… USA Gospel New York
This annual award shifts the focus onto a different territory, starting with America, the birthplace of house music.
New York’s Gospel club has had great success in just a few short years. James Huddleston and Juriel Zeligman are the co-founders and the venue is well run with a great mix of regular guests doing their own promotions.
It’s a great throwback to how the scene was when it was first born in the 80s with serious focus on the music and residents. The club is a great modern addition to the city but one that never forgets the roots of the scene.
This unmissable night marks the welcome return of the rejuvenated DJ Awards and will be a unique night of celebration for the dance music industry after another epic year.
The main genre categories will be announced at the full awards show on October 2nd in Ibiza.
