In a world full of broken systems and constant reminders of anxiety and stress, “Never Walk Alone” arrives as a friend to those who might not have anyone or anything to lean on.

By blending electronic music, pop, indie, and soul influences, BLOND:ISH aims to reach as many listeners as she can, beaming her compassionate transmissions far and wide in hopes of getting the planet closer to “Happy Happy World” (an inclusive place of sustainable unity, respect, and nourishment).

Whether it’s organizing group hugs before her sets or taking initiative against single-use plastics, BLOND:ISH wants to leave the world a better place than she found it. Her newest single, a song meant to serve as a friend in a time of anxiety or loneliness, is the latest manifestation of her vision.

BLOND:ISH – Never Walk Alone

Firmly established as a go-to talent in the songwriting world, Stevie Appleton has worked alongside electronic music titans such as Tiesto, John Summit, Gorgon City, and more with No. 1 hits around the world An accomplished pianist by a young age, Appleton‘s knack for writing melodies and love for dance music earned him a key songwriting role at Spinnin Records immediately after attending college in London. Since then, he’s become a platinum-selling artist.

Record label head, environmental activist, Web3 entrepreneur, and new mom, BLOND:ISH breaks down traditional barriers between artist and fan, uniting her community through pillars of purpose.

Igniting a movement coined “Sustainable Raving,” BLOND:ISH founded Bye Bye Plastic, an initiative that aims to eliminate single-use plastics from clubs and festivals by encouraging artists to use eco-riders that demand alternatives and by providing resources to promoters who want to change. Last year, BLOND:ISH released #PlasticFreeParty, a compilation pressed on completely biodegradable vinyl using a material made of PHA.

Consistently on the road as a service to her fans, BLOND:ISH has a mixture of club and festival sets on the horizon with appearances at Delta Festival in Marseilles, Circoloco in Ibiza, III Points in Miami, and a residency at Alemagou in Mikonos, Greece.

Wehbba returns to Drumcode for the long-anticipated ‘Awaken’ EP

Wehbba

Eighteen months since his last EP on Drumcode, the brilliant Wehbba returns with an impressive two-tracker ‘Awaken’.

Anything the on-point Brazilian contributes to Drumcode is always top notch. From his 2020 album ‘Straight Lines & Sharp Corners‘ to the cracking ‘Catarse‘ EP from 2018 to last year’s sci-fi themed ‘Premonition‘, the vast collection of quality music the artist has dished up on Adam Beyer‘s label always stands out amongst the crowd.

The producer, who’s a practitioner of Vipassana meditation, takes inspiration from the spiritual realm for his latest production work. ‘Awaken‘ is a hyper euphoric anthem inspired by light that packs plenty of bottom end power.

We can’t wait to hear this played during the upcoming festival season. ‘Revelation‘ is a spitfire trippy techno outing, which utilizes Eastern scales and takes influence from ritualistic ceremonies from Middle Eastern and South Asian cultures. Mark this down as another timeless Wehbba EP on Drumcode.

Cedric Gervais remixes Eddie Amador’s classic ‘House Music’

cedric gervais

Yoshitoshi extends its celebration of Eddie Amador’s ‘House Music’ at 25 years with the release of the dancefloor filler remix from French recognised DJ and producer Cedric Gervais.

25 years is a long time in dance music. Ask any clubber what tracks they remember from 1999 and, odds-on, you’ll be met with a shrug. However, mention ‘House Music’ and it’s a different kettle of karate; not only was it one of the seminal releases of the year, but it’s also gone on to stand the test of time.

Following well-received remixes this year from Sharam and Riva Starr, August 2nd sees the final chapter in the trilogy, which concludes matters on a very big bang indeed. Cedric Gervais reinterpretation is born from the dark side of the tech-moon and then sent to a kindergarten of the deepest funk.

It’s a mix of pure, peak-time power that will delight aficionados of all house genres. Expect to hear it across the world, from major festivals to the best Ibiza floors and beyond.

Carlita announces debut album ‘Sentimental’ with lead single “The Moment”

Turkish-Italian DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist Carlita (real name Carla Frayman) announces her long-awaited debut album ‘Sentimental’, set for release 15th November on Ninja Tune. Along with the announcement Carlita shares lead single “The Moment” featuring acclaimed English producer and singer-songwriter SG Lewis.

Sentimental’ is the culmination of Carlita’s musical journey years and years in the making. The album notes a creative milestone in her productions, building a sonic narrative using her life experiences as its building blocks.

“I want fans to see a different side to me musically,” Carla says. “I think most people come to my shows at clubs and festivals and see me playing lots of big club records but I want people to hear this album and really see a different side to me musically and be left surprised by the sound of it.”

Speckles of these moments, along with a cast of talented friends can be heard first-hand throughout ‘Sentimental’. “Trouble Symphony” opens the album with DJ Tennis right at the beginning like how he was at the start of Carla’s career. SG Lewis, acclaimed producer who joined Carlita at Senza Fine’s New York Fashion Week show last year, lends his vocals to lead single “The Moment”.

Comme Ça Voce” taps into her Italian roots, featuring vocals from Sicilian musician Orofino. Mascolo, Elderbrook, Julietta and Cleo Simone round out the list of esteemed peers who have contributed their time and talent to ‘Sentimental’.

As Carla elaborates, “It was an amazing experience working with all the people involved in the album and so great to see how everyone has different creative processes. It was really inspiring for me and also taught me lots of new things along the way.” Undoubtedly the most important track on the album, the previously released “Time” is a song that has stuck with Carla through many DJ sets.

A standout closer to many sets, the song solidifies palpable connection between Carlita and any crowd she plays to, making it a perfect ending to a transcendent experience. The song serves a similar purpose as the penultimate track on ‘Sentimental’; a heartfelt statement that not only encompasses the overarching thesis to her debut, but it also cements Carlita as an exceptional producer and songwriter.

“There’s so much thought process that goes into an album and that’s why it’s taken so long for me to be truly happy with it. The creative process has been amazing albeit stressful at times but it’s been so rewarding” she said.

The fifth edition of Senza Fine will be taking place on September 7th during New York Fashion Week. Carlita also continues a run of tour dates across the EU and UK, including Medusa Cannes in France, Parc del Fòrum and DC10 in Spain, Lost Village Festival in the UK and more.
