Last night Swedish powerhouse Alesso performed at Los Angeles’s heralded Greek Theatre. And for this special occasion he brought his brand new stage setup that has taken almost four months to go from concept to construction.
The design blew fans away with a facade of vibrant LED screens spanning 100 meters in width that displayed mesmerizing graphics, sharp lasers and mobile lights.
Alesso’s manager Amy Thomas posted a few clips of his new stage on Facebook, and gave insight into effort behind it:
“It takes a long time to build a show. First you draw it in a crappy piece of paper. Then you add lasers and lights. Then you work with the best people you know to make the drawing come to life. Then you sit in dark rooms and practice. Then you build it 100 meters wide and bring the movies to Los Angeles. Tonight Alesso plays The Greek in la. Sold out in 9 minutes. Took 4 months to build. And it was worth every minute ….”

Set your alarm: tickets start flying out at 12:00 CEST on September 27th at mysteryland.com.
Some people will do anything just to get a ticket for their favorite dance music festival.
This is especially true for one man, who believe it or not, has Mint festival logo tattooed right on his backside. This english-based festival has been sold out for about a week now, though it seems people are still desperate to get a ticket to the Leeds event.
The young man’s (who will go unnamed) desperate move worked and the promoters gave him a chance to party to the likes of Hot Since 82, Dannic, Third Party, Ummet Ozcan, Adam Beyer, and many more.
Check out his crazy tattoo in the pictures below

An American DJ and record producer Kaskade, has always been one to voice his opinion, and not afraid to stand up for his profession and those who appreciate electronic dance music.
Now, he’s taken to his blog to call out what he sees as an unfair stigma associated with EDM, particularly in reaction to a report from the LA Timeswho have equated the “summer of deaths” in festivals to the reason HARD’s popular Haloween rave is not happening this year.
The outside world has a perception that Raves = Drugs and Kaskade has something to say about it.
.@latimes back at it w embarrassing (for them) reporting. Wrong about my #KaskadeLA show:25k+ there w ZERO transfers to hospital, btw.
“So, in the past 10 years there have been 21 substance-related deaths at dance events. And EVERY DAY there are 27 substance-related deaths, which are somehow less news and attention worthy. I suppose once you reach a certain point, the news doesn’t notice anymore.
I’m happy to use my influence to encourage people to be responsible, to stay alive. But this is a world-wide problem, something that is not even close to being unique to dance music. Part of the problem is people trying to simple-size it. Raves = drugs. So close them down.
Not going to work, and we all know it. Time to devote your column inches to some real stories. The war on drugs is a farce. There are better answers than regurgitating the same alarmist solutions that have never worked, which will NEVER work. Try this on: education, harm reduction and legalization.
Start there. And back to the music for me.”
I Can't Keep Quiet.
The Los Angeles Times back at it again, with embarrassing (for them) incorrect reporting. My…
The Chainsmokers’ DJ Alex Pall fell right off the edge of the stage while performing at the KAABOO Del Mar music festival over the weekend.
Alex was high up from the stage, so he took a pretty hard fall. Their fans couldn’t help, but laugh and proceeded to share the video online with the crying laughing emoji.
The “Closer” hitmaker, who got back up and went on with the show, didn’t seem fazed by the tumble when he tweeted after the event.”Lol for the record I am okay and tougher than I look… And Clearly not coordinated” he wrote.

Duke Dumont Live Village Underground. Luke Dyson Photography
An embarrassing moment occured on Sunday, during Duke Dumont’s show at Union Hall in Edmonton, the capital of Canada’s Alberta province. Some disrespectful fans spat and threw their drinks onto Duke Dumont and his DJ equipment.
This British DJ best known for the singles “Need U (100%)”, “I Got U” and “Ocean Drive” finally had enough as he decided to stop DJing and get on the microphone to tell the crowd:
“If you’re brave enough come the fuck down, come the fuck down now. Whoever did that, come down the stage. If you’re man enough to spit, you’re man enough to come on up here.”
As you can see from the video below Duke is so pissed off, but he’s totally right. These rude and disrespectful fans should actually be ashamed, he did not deserve some drunk guys spilling drinks all over him and his equipment.

Police arrested 77 people at the Defqon.1 hard dance music festival at western Sydney on Saturday night as part of a special operation.
There were 77 drug detections. It comes almost a year after 26-year-old man died after he was found unconscious in a festival tent on September 21, 2015.
Festival goers were targeted for drug and alcohol offenses as well as “anti-social” behavior. 6 people were charged with supplying a prohibited drug and more than 200 people received medical attention for heat or drug-related illnesses. 6 of those 200 were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police also conducted 630 random breath tests and charged eight people with drink driving. Another 44 people returned positive results for driving under the influence of drugs.
Defqon.1 is an annual hardstyle music festival that has been held in Netherlands, Australia and Chile since 2003.
The king of trolls strikes again, trolls his colleague DJ Snake this time.
Deadmau5 and DJ Snake are trolling the hell out of each other. It all started when Joel recorded videos of himself stealing a bottle of Jack Daniels from DJ Snake’s dressing room at Ultra Music festival and changing the DJ Snake’s door sign into DJ Snack.
A lot of fans have speculated that the “DJ Snack” prank is a reference to a separate occasion when DJ Snake stole snacks from Axwell and Ingrosso’s dressing room during EDC Mexico.
In his latest instagram photo, Joel is claiming that DJ Snake prerecorded his Ultra Japan set, referring to it as a simple .wav file rather than an actual collection of individual tracks.
Deadmau5‘s iconic CUBE stage design has been copied and Joel clearly is not happy.
This is a pretty good indication that there is a massive lack in creativity in electronic music production these days. Earlier this week Deadmau5 called the New Orleans “Shadow Rap” group named $uicideboy$ over copyright infringement. He claimed they used an “entire section” of his collaboration with Kaskade, “I Remember”, for a track of theirs titled “Antarctica.”
And now he’s found himself the victim of plagiarism on a much larger scale. One deadmau5 fan noticed that the DJs were using his patented cube stage design during Dj Tigerlily show in Austin, Texas.
Initially it was thought that Aussie DJ Tigerlily had ripped off his stage design. But a brief search revealed that it was some guy named Erik Fink who apparently used to be Krewella’s tour manager.
It’s also a pretty good indication that there’s a massive lack in creativity in electronic music production. https://t.co/yMnBRcMiSZ
