After forming in Paris 28 years ago, the legendary electronic duo Daft Punk calls it quits.
In 1993, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter formed one of the most iconic dance duos in electronic music history. They first broke the scene with an 8-minute video titled “Epilogue,” excerpted from their 2006 film Electroma. Longtime publicist Kathryn Frazier recently confirmed the news of the split.
The Parisian duo are responsible for some of the most ground-breaking and popular hits ever heard. Their debut album Homework defined house music and changed the landscape of electronic music forever. By 2001 the duo were well known for their robotic public appearances which turned out to be their trademark look. They would continue their storied journey with albums like Human After All, Alive 2007, and the Tron: Legacy soundtrack album.
