Ushuaïa Ibiza announces winner of the ANTS: NEXT GEN DJ Competition

Ushuaïa Ibiza is proud to announce the winner of the ANTS: NEXT GEN DJ Competition: Us Two. The West Midlands pair will now get the opportunity to perform on Ushuaïa Ibiza’s world-famous poolside stage, when they make their ANTS debut on Saturday 9th September, performing alongside Hot Since 82, Wade, Francisco Allendes, Yousef and Miane.

Launched in collaboration with Beatport in April earlier this year, the ANTS: NEXT GEN DJ Competition provides an unrivaled opportunity for aspiring DJ talent to supercharge their career. Winners, Us Two, will become part of the ANTS family, one of underground electronic music’s most influential collectives, which is celebrating a decade at the top this summer.

Along with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at Ushuaïa Ibiza, the pair will receive expert career mentorship to nurture their artistic development, a production masterclass with an ANTS resident DJ, and an array of DJ essentials, courtesy of Beatport and Pioneer.

Over 1000 entries were judged by a panel of leading DJs and influential industry experts, including ANTS residents Andrea Oliva, Chelina Manuhutu, SYREETA, Francisco Allendes and Nic Fanciulli, along with Yann Pissenem, (CEO & Founder of The Night League, Ushuaïa, Hï Ibiza, & ANTS), Leslee Clarke (Booking Manager, The Night League, Ushuaïa & Hï Ibiza), and Itziar Gonzalez (ANTS Brand Manager).

Us Two, said: “We’ve been going to Ushuaia Ibiza and ANTS for over 10 years, so for us to now be playing there is crazy. The party has had a huge influence on us and has helped create our sound, so we’re super excited for this next chapter with the colony!”.

ANTS resident and competition judge Andrea Oliva said: “Huge congratulations to Us Two. I hope this is going to be a career-changing moment for the guys and I’m looking forward to watching them perform on the main stage at Ushuaïa Ibiza this summer.”

Fellow judge and ANTS resident SYREETA added: “It’s amazing to see exciting upcoming talent get a platform with an institution like ANTS. The duo had exactly the right ANTS groove in their mix, and it was incredible to see it made up solely of their original productions as well!”

Paul van Dyk teams up with Ciaran McAuley on new track “Someone Like You”

Paul van Dyk and Ciaran McAuley combine forces to create a transcendent and euphoric new single, “Someone Like You,” now available to stream from VANDIT Records.

Booka Shade reveal their ‘20 Years Reworked’ project in full, welcoming remixers such as Joachim Pastor, 8Kays, Qrion, JOPLYN and more as they celebrate the iconic milestone.

Founded and created twenty years ago (around the first Get Physical releases) by Arno Kammermeier and Walter Merziger, the name Booka Shade stands today as one of the most celebrated and revered acts within electronic music, with their famed live shows coupled with a rich and storied back catalogue full of iconic and memorable releases, from their debut album ‘Memento’ to the iconic ‘Movements’, celebrated across the globe.

Since their 2005 breakthrough, the band has played and headlined stages from Coachella to Glastonbury while being named in RA’s Top 5 Live Acts and inducted into the Radio 1 Hall Of Fame. And yet, they continue to tour and release music just as frequently as they always have, with their latest project being an extremely special one to mark a monumental occasion.

A series launched across the summer months, with fresh remixes of classics and recent Blaufield Music catalogue highlights from Joachim Pastor, 8Kays, JOPLYN, BAUGRUPPE 90 and Nils Hoffmann dropping across June and July, the legendary pairing now gets ready to celebrate the milestone in full with the release of their full ’20 Years Reworked’ package – while also celebrating the 10th anniversary of their Blaufield Music imprint in parallel.

Featuring the five released remixes of ‘Honeyslave’, ‘In White Rooms’, ‘Darko’, ‘Blaze’ and ‘Body Language’, the full release also brings with it two fresh interpretations and an additional treat in the form of their latest single.

London’s Casper Cole, who is quickly becoming a label favourite, returns with a powerful remix of their 2013 single ‘Blackout: White Noise’, which was the first release on their newly founded Blaufield label. He fuses hypnotic, driving synth melodies with crisp precision and warped vocals for a twisting late-night voyage.

The second new remix comes via Japanese DJ/producer and hotly-tipped talent Qrion, who makes her Blaufield Music debut in style. Featuring as one of DJ Mag’s Future Stars for 2021 and on Forbes Japan’s 30 Under 30 list, her take on the pairings vibrant collaboration ‘I Go I Go’ with Kaktus Einarsson – part of their 2020 LP ‘Dear Future Self’ – is an expertly worked deep dive into glistening soundscapes as delicate melodies weave effortlessly around the original vocal. The release is rounded out with some recent material from the duo, with their breezy collaboration ‘Fusion Royale’ alongside fellow German talent Satin Jackets concluding the rich package and providing a fresh reminder of their ever-evolving sound.

Mayan Warrior has announced Mayan Warrior Los Angeles Halloween, in partnership with Los Angeles-based event collective Stranger Than. Held on October 28th, the Halloween event will serve as the last official Mayan Warrior fundraising event ever after their art car was tragically destroyed in a fire earlier this year. Coming full circle, Mayan Warrior will return to Grand Park, the location they debuted their first West Coast event in 2017.

Hailing from Mexico City, Mayan Warrior grew from a renegade Burning Man Art Car and Soundcamp to one of electronic music’s most successful touring brands, all with unannounced lineups showcasing a mix of native Mexican and global underground talent.

Fusing ancient culture and cutting edge technology, the Mayan Warrior team built a custom art car resemblant of a supernatural Mayan being complete with a DJ booth, lasers, and a cutting edge soundsystem.

In celebration of ten years since its inception, Mayan Warrior embarked on an anniversary tour, bringing its beloved art car to Austin, NYC, Miami, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Mayan Warrior originally teamed up with Stranger Than; five years ago to produce a series of fundraising events for their return to Burning Man and their first shows off the Playa.

Gathering tens of thousands across the country, Mayan Warrior transformed urban venues into immersive oases of radical self-expression and collaboration.

After the art car was tragically destroyed earlier this year, the strength of Mayan Warrior‘s impact and vibrant community was exemplified, demonstrating the resilience and unity that defines this extraordinary project. Through the ashes, the Mayan Warrior’s legacy lives on, a testament to its timeless spirit and the power of human connection. The Los Angeles event will pay tribute to Mayan Warrior’s legacy and serve as the last chance to experience the Mayan Warrior ever.

Renowned for transforming culturally and historically significant urban locations into venues for their house and techno events, Stranger Than; remain a revolutionary force in the US electronic music scene. Led by founder Tal Ohana, Stranger Than; are responsible for debuting numerous new locations for its iconic events throughout LA, such as Grand Park on the steps of City Hall, El Pueblo in front of Union Station, Cabrillo Beach for one of LA’s only electronic parties to take place beachfront, and most recently the first-ever music programming at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Mau P & Insomniac Records announce Amsterdam Dance Event – ADE open to close show

From Amsterdam to the world and now back again, Mau P and Insomniac have joined forces for Insomniac Records presents Mau P. Taking place on Wednesday October 18th at Thuishaven during Amsterdam Dance Event.

Just over a year after releasing his debut single, Mau P is ready to take matters into his own hands. Performing from open to close for the first time at his first headlining ADE show, prepare for a healthy dose of Mau P this October. Insomniac Records presents Mau P will be produced by Insomniac‘s European partner ALDA.

Drugs From Amsterdam originator and city native Mau P has made a major impact on the house music scene in a remarkably short space of time. He set an incredibly high bar with his thumping debut single, the aforementioned Drugs From Amsterdam, which rocketed from the underground to become a huge global hit with over 100 million plays racked up since its release.

In January 2023 Mau P added the eagerly awaited Gimme That Bounce to his musical arsenal, which was followed up by an official Calvin Harris remix in April and Your Mind Is Dirty in May. To add to an already impressive repertoire, Mau P released what might be his most anticipated song yet, Metro, in collaboration with Kevin de Vries on Afterlife in July. Metro garnered extraordinary virality due to an unexpected meteor shower happening while it was being played at Afterlife during Miami Music Week.

Enrico Sangiuliano is back with a fresh new exciting remix of Röyksopp “Like An Old Dog”

Esteemed techno tastemaker Enrico Sangiuliano is back with a fresh new exciting remix on Dog Triumph Profound Mysteries, this time adding his own unique spin to Röyksopp’s ‘Like An Old Dog’ which is already a firm favourite with the iconic band.

Italian Sangiuliano is at the heart of the tech underground thanks to his standout originals and remixes of the likes of ‘Age Of Love‘ from 2021, and also his awesome output on his own imprint NINETOZERO. He is in the midst of another busy summer playing the world’s best clubs and festivals and says he got fascinated by ‘Like An Old Dog‘ so decided to remix it.

Here’s what Enrico Sangiuliano had to say about the remix:

“It has great pathos and the sense of total suspension, which I tried to give a conclusion to. It has been pretty inspiring to dive through the beautiful sounds created by legendary Röyksopp and with my personal touch I wanted to give a new life to the track, keeping it as respectful as possible and definitely recognisable. The impact on the crowd is incredible every time I play it out and seeing Röyksopp closing their live sets with it is an honour!”

It is a driving cut with flashy synths bringing hypnotic energy over the heavy drums. There is a spine tingling breakdown with lush ambient pads and angelic vocal shimmers, then it kicks again and takes the club to the next level.

In a collaborative triumph, dynamic Dutch duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and Dutch powerhouse producer Magnificence have joined forces for their 2023 rework of Steve Angello’s legendary house record ‘Monday’, co-released on Tomorrowland Music and SIZE Records today!

Celebrating 20 years of SIZE Records this year, label boss and one third of Swedish House Mafia Steve Angello tapped into the Dutch producers to give a modern update to his iconic track from 2009. Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano‘s and Magnificence‘s rework keeps the original’s memorable bassline intact while giving the classic house cut a fresh and funky tribal sound feel – a fun and highly energetic tune full of summer appeal.

The 2023 rework of ‘Monday‘ marks the first release of an exciting collaborative EP by Tomorrowland‘s imprint and SIZE Records, landing right on time for Steve Angello‘s highly-anticipated special 20 year celebration set ‘Steve Angello presents SIZE XX‘ on Tomorrowland‘s Freedom stage on Sunday July 30.
