In the shadowy depths of the bass landscape, the haunting resonance of AVANCE’s Graves Full EP looms, sending ripples of profound, chilling dubstep. Emerging from the seemingly alive and pulsating heart of Sydney, AVANCE’s moniker has become emblematic of a deeper, more ominous interpretation of the genre.
A chilling allure of the Graves Full EP is AVANCE‘s communion with some of the genre’s emerging specters. Nosphere, Sam Lamar, SISTO, and Claymore have all woven their eerie harmonics into the tapestry, manifesting an ethereal symphony of sounds that sends shivers down the spine. These unions not only heighten the EP’s ghostly aura but also lay bare AVANCE‘s flair for melding with varying shades of darkness.
Released from the crypts of Sounds Of Mayhem Recordings, an offshoot of PhaseOne, the EP is a manifestation of AVANCE‘s dream to be a spectral force in bass music. This dark alliance signals the path he’s etching in the underworld of music.
AVANCE Graves Full
When reviewing his chilling array of past releases, AVANCE has only improved with his skillset when it comes to both production and live shows. With Graves Full EP, his obsession with this craft breaches new horizons, casting a shadow that bass aficionados find hard to escape. The evolution evident in this release is a testament to AVANCE’s pledge to push the limits of the abyss, pushing the boundaries of bass music in recognizable fashions.
Each track beckons listeners into a labyrinth, drawing them closer to the most haunting recesses of the human soul. AVANCE‘s sonic contribution via this will send a shock through those who listen, offering those who dare a hint of the dark inspirations that spawned this haunting oeuvre.
In the world of tech house, where so many tracks come and go like shadows in the dusk, Matroda‘s “In The Air” emerges like a shout in a silent room. From the shores of Croatia, a place with its own deep rhythms and histories, comes an artist who, with each beat, seems to dig into the very soil of his homeland and the echoes of the wider musical landscape.
The track demands to be not merely listened to, but felt — much in the vein of how history, as I’ve often mused, isn’t just read but lived. “In The Air” isn’t a passive experience; it’s a conjuring, a summoning. The unmistakable “Matrodasound” acts as a whirlwind, crafting tales from thrilling crescendos and electric highs. There’s an urgency, an insistence, that speaks of old worlds and new horizons.
Released under Terminal Underground, Matroda‘s very own canvas, “In The Air” speaks volumes. It’s not just about the individual artist, but the continuum of sound, of histories interwoven, of the ebb and flow of tech house culture.
Matroda stands as a cartographer, charting a course through the expansive sea of tech house. With “In The Air“, he’s not just marking a spot on the musical map; he’s expanding its boundaries.
The track feels like another step on an adventure with this solo talent, a living archive. This, then, is tech house as a chronicle; a reflection not just of where the music will take us, but where it has taken us as well.
Beautifully so, the compelling trio known as SadBois have found a niche that resonates: a harmonious blend of rocktronic and melodic bass. Their latest contribution, the Lonely Together EP, under Flux Pavilion’s Circus Electric—a subsidiary of Circus Records—marks yet another ambitious leap into the intricacies of human emotion.
At the heart of the EP lies an exploration into the multifaceted world of loneliness. Each track within the EP dives into its varying forms, unraveling its ironic influence on personal metamorphosis and the journey of self-discovery. The tracks bring forth a symphony of collaborations, such as “Lonely Nights,” featuring the celestial vocals of a joint effort with MashBit and UNDY.
“Worst Day Ever” intertwines with PatFromLastYear, blessed by the deep resonance of Micah Martin, while “What It Feels Like” offers a collaboration with TENZO, underscored by LÚTHIEN‘s evocative vocal chops. “Bringing Me Back,” paired with ARNHEMIA, and elevated by Rickie Lane‘s vocals, serves as a musical tapestry depicting the emergence from solitude.
Building on the momentum of their most popular work “Something New” at the close of 2022, SadBois has cemented 2023 as their year, dropping beats and enthralling fans. They’ve etched their distinct fusion of pop punk, bass, and dubstep across labels like HelixRecords and Future Generation. Live, they come alive in a cascade of energy, only helping their growth track. With previous partnerships alongside names like ARMNHMR, Said The Sky, and Fairlane, and a tantalizing promise of more electric collaborations on the horizon, the future is undeniably luminous for SadBois. Their dedication to innovation guarantees their listeners an ever-evolving auditory experience.

Marking a decade since the release of her breakthrough single Come With Me, Swiss-South African artist Nora En Pure releases a special summer single Do No More – out now on Enormous Tunes.
Serving as an ode to the classic, Do No More reminds the listener of the piece of music that has become a timeless soundtrack, and evokes memories for people all over the world. Crafting an enchanting soundscape, the tribute captures the essence of Come With Me, combining touching piano melodies, soaring vocals and rhythmic percussion to radiate positive and uplifting energy.
Speaking about the release, Nora En Pure mentioned:
“‘Do No More’ is a little ode to ‘Come With Me’, which has played a big role in my musical journey, so to celebrate its ten year anniversary I wanted to create a summery track with a similar vibe, with a modern twist. Some of the beats are the same and throw you right back, reminding people of the classic and all the memories that come along with it.”
Continuing her mammoth summer tour, Nora En Pure has captivated audiences at the likes of ULTRA Europe in Croatia, Airbeat One in Germany, Gurten Festival in Switzerland, Club Chinois in Ibiza, Cavo Paradiso in Mykonos and Tomorrowland in Belgium.
Closing the month of July on European soil, the Helvetic Nerd is set to play at Nitsa Club in Barcelona, Tension Festival in Basel, Playa Padre in Marbella and Discoteca Raya in Panarea. Embarking on the next leg of her US tour, August will include performances at the likes of Ryse Night Club in St. Charles, Lollapalooza in Chicago, Marquee Dayclub in Las Vegas, Electric Island Festival in Toronto and Outside Lands in San Francisco.
Don Diablo is back on Spinnin’ with an updated version of his hit single ‘Cutting Shapes,’ which was released via HEXAGON/Spinnin’ in 2016.
‘Cutting Shapes’ is slang for Shuffle Dancing, and Don Diablo’s original ‘Cutting Shapes’ release was a big track for the shuffle community (the video has over 57M views!) With “Still Cutting Shapes,” Don pays homage to the shuffle community with a fresh dance-pop track that hits the club space while also having solid crossover potential. We’ll undoubtedly be hearing this one at the finest music festivals all summer.
“My fans have been asking me to do a throwback to my traditional piano house sound, so making a brand new version of one of my biggest tracks was a no-brainer. When I started to play it out in my shows, I got so many requests to release it we had to oblige. Being reunited with Spinnin’ Records for this release feels like everything is going full circle. We are going back to the future, and we are “still cutting shapes!,” Diablo says
To step inside the mind of Don Diablo is to step inside the future. The Dutch visionary demonstrates a total immersion in his craft that has seen him challenge perceptions and break down creative boundaries with his numerous endeavors across the music, art, fashion, and tech realms.
Displaying an almost prophetic ability to tap into future trends, the forward-thinking Digital Artist refuses to be pigeonholed by just one avenue of his illustrious career. Currently voted the world’s #9 DJ on the prestigious DJ MAG Top 100, the sought-after producer has collaborated with and remixed a wide range of artists, including Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Gucci Mane, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson, Travis Barker, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Madonna, Ty Dolla $ign, The Chainsmokers, Coldplay and many more.
Mau P is returning the favor after the legendary Armand van Helden released his official ‘Drugs From Amsterdam’ remix back in March. By being commissioned an official ‘I Want Your Soul’ remix, Mau P is joining an exclusive club of artists who’ve been given the honor.
For the first time in close to a decade, an official remix of Armand van Helden‘s seminal I Want Your Soul has been released on Southern Fried Records, this time by none other than Mau P. The prodigious DJ and producer has delivered a thumping contemporary cut while maintaining much of the original’s trademark sound. The Mau P remix is part of an exchange by the two artists, following Armand van Helden‘s Drugs From Amsterdam remix back in March.
By being commissioned an official I Want Your Soul remix, Mau P is joining an exclusive club of artists who’ve been given the honor. Mau P said about the release;
“Being told that the I Want Your Soul edit I made was going to become an official release was another pinch me moment. Armand van Helden is one of my all time heroes and I Want Your Soul is such a classic. I must’ve played it hundreds of times at house parties and even to this day it always hits the spot. I hope I did the track justice with my version, I guess we’ll find out soon enough.”
I Want Your Soul has gone down in the history books as one of the all time classics and gained worldwide notoriety due to its incredible infectiousness. From Marco Carola to Peggy Gou, I Want Your Soul is an instant crowd pleaser to this day. The release has stood the test of time like no other and is exemplary of Armand van Helden‘s genius as a producer.
Mau P is currently helming what might be one of the most rapid ascents to the top in recent house music history. Less than a year after bursting onto the scene with his iconic debut single Drugs From Amsterdam Mau P is hitting milestones at an unprecedented pace. The aforementioned debut has now been streamed over 100 million times on Spotify alone and was the predecessor to a multitude of successful releases. Most recently, Mau P teamed up with Kevin de Vries for his first release on Afterlife with Metro. Metro has been one of the year’s most anticipated releases after becoming a highlight in Tale of Us sets.
Mau P made his Tomorrowland debut last weekend and is already in the midst of a run of US shows, including elrow in New York and Marquee Dayclub in Las Vegas. Additionally, Mau P announced his very first headlining Amsterdam Dance Event show at Thuishaven on Wednesday October 18th, at which he’ll perform from open to close.
Figurehead of Berlin institution Keinemusik Adam Port and Mexican electronic innovator Theus Mago join forces on a collective debut for Defected Records “The Dream.”
A glowing, otherworldly cut featuring an evocative vocal from Columbian vocalist Martina Camargo, steady beats, intricate percussion and Latin-inspired drum patterns form an irresistible backdrop to her soaring vocal.
With a transcendent soulfulness that offsets the tougher elements of the record, the track’s title “The Dream” feels exceptionally fitting, warm and emotive while retaining plenty of dancefloor muscle.
People of Tomorrow from all corners of the world have made it to the third and final day of the second weekend of Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium. From the iconic, ever-changing but always magical Mainstage to dancefloors overlooked by giant mushrooms to a peaceful, out-of-this-world face overgrown by jungle plants to a friendly giant dragon, Tomorrowland’s magic is made in large part by its stages.
As you will have noticed by now, there’s never a dull moment as you switch between styles such as big room, techno, psytrance, house, drum & bass, and hardstyle in front of varying backdrops. What’s more, the stages are always a visual fit to the walls of sound they host. Everything, in other words, is taken care of when it comes to the best settings for dancing. And just in case you missed something so far, here’s a tour of all stages.

Cage
At Cage, the darkness of clubs and warehouses is celebrated in full effect. The electronic music you’ll hear all over Tomorrowland emerged from such spaces across New York City and the Midwestern USA, before diverging into a plethora of new styles in the UK warehouse rave scene. The music today is a little different than back in the day, though. Cage is where you lose yourself to the sounds of modern techno, rave, and industrial hardcore DJs. If you love ultra-energetic vibes and rhythms, then Cage is where your friends will find you.

The Rave Cave
Tomorrowland may have grown to be the ringleader of massive, epic, and larger-than-life festival experiences, but it will never cease to honor the roots of its musical success. The Rave Cave is the place to take you back to the original vibe of outdoor partying – back when all you needed to get down was a pair of speakers, a handful of dope-ass DJs, and a tunnel (aka the Rave Cave) to rave in.
The Rave Cave
CORE
Enter the world of the incredible CORE stage, which has slowly but surely become a Tomorrowland classic. Now also an annual festival of its own, CORE has literally put a face to the music this year. Centered around a figure with a serene, upward gaze, the stage is a temple of human expression right in the middle of a mysterious forest. CORE is where the People of Tomorrow become one with nature while they dance to the sounds of the world’s best forward-thinking DJs.

The Library
The Library is where you indulge in wisdom, surrounded by the giant books strewn all around the stage. Their presence is enough; there’s no need to read the pages. The Library’s soundtrack throughout the weekend is a sweet and energetic mix of future house, big room, and even hardstyle.
