Moog’s Model 15 Modular Synthesizer App Is Now Available for macOS Big Sur

Free to all current Model 15 iOS App owners, this update to the award-winning app makes it the first official desktop soft synth from Moog.

The first Moog modular synthesizer and synthesis educational tool created exclusively for iOS is now also available on macOS Big Sur.

This free update to the Moog Model 15 Modular Synthesizer App, available for Mac users running Big Sur, makes it possible to recreate the sounds and workflow of the classic hardware Model 15 modular synthesizer using a macOS device through Audio Unit v3, or as a standalone sound design tool.

Each facet of the Moog Model 15 modular synthesizer has been meticulously recreated in this application to ensure the power and transcendent sound quality of each module remains intact. The character, harmonic complexity, and mystique of the instrument’s modules—from the legendary Moog 921 series oscillators and 904A Low Pass Filter to the coveted 907 Fixed Filter Bank—have been painstakingly preserved as the app continues to add more value for users.

What’s New

This update allows for seamless integration with Logic, GarageBand, and MainStage for use in studio and live performance environments. The Model 15 App can be used standalone, as an Audio Unit v3 plugin, or as an effect in your existing audio chain.

A new expansion pack, free to download for app owners, features 80 modular patches with a range of styles that will inspire both budding synthesists and advanced sound designers alike. From sub-rattling basses to mix-cutting leads, punchy percussion to dynamic pads, the Synthesist’s Toolkit has something for everyone, no matter where you are on your modular journey.

Seven new built-in tutorials encourage the exploration of modularity, introducing synthesis concepts and unique scenarios an artist would not encounter with hardwired synthesizers. Focusing on the nuances of modular patching, these tutorials are designed to inspire users to discover new levels of depth and movement in their sound.

This added universal compatibility is now included in all future downloads of the Model 15 App (at the same price). If you already own the Model 15 App on your iOS device, no additional purchase or upgrade is required to use the app on your Apple Silicon or Intel based Mac laptop or desktop, and it can be downloaded from your previously purchased items.

More about the Moog Model 15 App

The Moog Model 15 App is an iOS and macOS version of the iconic, ultra-powerful 1970s modular synthesizer. Designed to evoke the joyous experimentation and sonic bliss of its predecessor’s vintage hardware, the Moog Model 15 App meticulously recreates the look, feel, and sound of its highly expressive analog namesake.

The Model 15 Modular Synthesizer App features both monophonic and four-voice polyphonic operation, easily commanded via four seamlessly integrated controllers. Simple controls provide instant access to a traditional Moog keyboard, 1150 ribbon controller, eight-step sequencing arpeggiator, and the award-winning Animoog keyboard with 22 built-in scales and polyphonic modulation capabilities. Also included are extended features which expand the capabilities of the app beyond the traditional offerings of the hardware Moog Model 15, including total MIDI integration.

Joachim Pastor delivers first single of 2021: ‘Alaska’

After changing up his sound a bit last year for acclaimed cuts such as ‘Be Someone’ and ‘Right Now’, Joachim Pastor set out to spoil his fans again with the sound they know and love.

With new single ‘Alaska‘, the French DJ and producer offers up a refined record that not only typifies his production capabilities in terms of sound, but also sets the stage for a very musically exciting year that will see him release his first-ever studio album.

One of the most vibrant and melodically evocative tracks you’ll find on Joachim Pastor‘s forthcoming album, ‘Alaska‘ offers a gorgeous twist at every turn and then some. Full-on electronica with a hypnotic beat and melodies that rise and fall like the tide, this is the kind of record any dance music lover could indulge in for hours on end.

Joachim Pastor: “Alaska is a beautiful place. Its wild nature harmonizes with stunning landscapes, but it can also be a brutal environment with extreme weather conditions and dangerous wildlife. I produced my latest single ‘Alaska’ with that duality in mind; the hard and energetic synthesizers are balanced with the soft and more delicate guitars. Join me on this journey and explore the sound of ‘Alaska’.

Inspired by the works of seminal artists such as Daft Punk, Sonata Arctica and Jean-Michel Jarre, Joachim Pastor‘s melodious brand of electronica offers a sense of sophistication not easily found in today’s music world.

Designed to make listeners feel with every fiber of their being, his music is an expression of emotion with a danceable twist, endorsed by hundreds of thousands of fans on Spotify alone as well as those who witnessed his performances at the likes of Dour, Tomorrowland, Paleo, Olympia, Solidays, DGTL, Pleinvrees and more.

Raphael Mader returns to Renaissance with ‘Elysia’ EP

German Techno Producer & DJ Raphael Mader returns to Renaissance with the ‘Elysia’ EP.

Elysia’ EP is a four-track meditation on 2020 which tells of Raphael Mader’s own personal story and experience of the past 12 months and the collective issues we’ve all had to face. With Raphael spending more time in the studio, it allowed him to experiment, exploring other genres whilst developing individual sounds, progression and rhythm.

Elysia’ tells the current story of the very serious and dramatic situation in which the world finds itself. The vocals are meant to be interpreted as cries for help. It’s breakbeat, which is one of the sounds Raphael Mader has been experimenting with. The intention is its haunting melancholy and atmosphere captures the global mood, albeit with an underlying hint of optimism.

Fractured’, on the other hand, is a more thoughtful and defensive composition. Its inspiration was the question of whether the world will ever be the same as it once was.
Fading Still’ is the optimistic answer to this question. It shows the beautiful sides of life, essentials that have been highlighted over the course of the year that we may have come to take for granted previously, like spending time with the family, friends, community etc.

Lastly, ’Common Sense’ is an appeal to take responsibility and to look positively forward. There may be a light at the end of the tunnel now, but we’re not there yet and still need to be mindful of others.

Raphael Mader’s previous Renaissance EPs, ‘Grace Of Colours’ and ‘Propaganda’ were supported by Hernan Cattaneo, Gabriel & Dresden, and BLANCAh.

ATB & Topic & A7S join forces on brand new single ‘Your Love (9pm)’

via celeb-true.com

A modern reimagining of ATB’s platinum-selling 1998 classic ‘9pm (Till I Come)’, ‘Your Love (9pm)’ is the first-ever official remake with the trance producer’s involvement.

Working together in the studio in Germany, ATB and Topic combined both of their music styles flawlessly to create the track, along with A7S, who finalized the lyrics via video call.

Over the past 20 years I’ve received so many requests for collaborations, remakes and cover versions of my song ‘9pm (Till I Come)’ but I passed on them all because I was never really satisfied with the sound of the approach nor the final,” explains ATB.

“Then I listened to Topic’s “Breaking Me” together with Rudi (management) and we immediately had the feeling that these two sound worlds could fuse together perfectly.

ATB & Topic’s version flaunts A7S’ soaring vocals and a powerful, full-bodied bassline with the iconic hook and sunkissed trance energy that made the original special to listeners worldwide.

9pm (Till I Come) is an absolute dance classic that I’ve known and loved since I was little,” says Topic.

“It is, therefore, a great honor to be the first to reissue this number together with ATB. The typical ATB guitar riff paired with my “melancholic dance music” sound and the unmistakable voice of A7S results in perfect symbiosis!

ATB’s big breakthrough moment, ‘9pm (Till I Come)’, propelled the German DJ and producer to the top of the UK singles chart back in 1998, becoming the first trance song to reach #1 in the UK.

Not stopping there, ATB’s debut single also peaked in several Top 10 charts around the globe, including the US Billboard Charts, and opened the door for dance music on mainstream radio.

His creative spirit continued to flourish with an impressive string of hits like ‘Don’t Stop’, ‘Ecstasy’, ‘Let U Go’, ‘What About Us’, ‘Move On’ and ‘When It Ends It Starts Again’. Together with 10 studio albums, Gold and Platinum certifications in numerous territories have underlined the German’s status, as did his continuous presence in the prestigious DJ Mag ‘Top 100’ poll for almost two decades.

A stunning rework of a legendary 90’s dance track, ‘Your Love (9pm)’ boasts ATB’s timeless hook and Topic’s effortless production style, along with A7S’ vocal performance, whilst paying homage to the classic dance hits of yesteryear.

CamelPhat and LOWES unveil the dynamic remix package for ‘Easier’

CamelPhat

Multi-platinum, Grammy nominated DJ & producer duo CamelPhat have unveiled the eclectic remix package for their latest single ‘Easier’, a collaboration with Lancaster band LOWES.

The single receives three stunning reworks from MK, Sub Focus and a very special acoustic version. MK is the first to spin his own take on the original coating his edit in a warm four-to-the-floor style which his signature blend of driven house has become famed for. The mix is of stark contrast to the rumbling tones of legendary drum and bass producer Sub Focus’ rework, who adds waves of euphoria and a hefty bassline to the original. Rounding off the package with a chilled acoustic version of the track, the stripped-back production highlights several key instrumental elements of the release, whilst focusing on the powerful vocals of LOWES frontwoman Evie Plumb

Easier’ is taken from CamelPhat’s highly anticipated debut album ‘Dark Matter’, which was one of the biggest indie/electronic crossover albums released last year. The record features a host of A-list collaborations as well as new and upcoming artists, including the legendary Noel Gallagher, Jake Bugg, Yannis Philipakkis as well as Skream, Eli & Fur and Will Easton.

The duo will be embarking on their biggest ever UK headline tour to date this year which has already sold over 20,000 tickets. The Grammy nominated pair will bring their widely acclaimed sound across the UK playing in Liverpool, Bristol, Glasgow, Newcastle and Leeds before rounding the tour off with a mammoth performance at London’s The SSE Arena Wembley on 17th April, making history as the first house act to ever headline the iconic venue.

Having established themselves as one of the most in-demand dance acts around, CamelPhat have enjoyed stellar success over the past few years. Making their mark with their 2017 Grammy-nominated hit Cola, the Liverpool duo have continued to release huge hits such as ‘Hypercolour’ with Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis, Breathe, Panic Room ft Au/Ra, Rabbit Hole, and ‘Be Someone’ alongside Jake Bugg.
