Max M releases hot new single ‘Never Wanna Leave’

max m

Max M is an artist who recently set out to release a new single, Never Wanna Leave. The brand new project marks a significant step forward for the artist, a true milestone that showcases the growth and creative vision.

The release does a really great job of portraying Max M‘s vision, presenting a sound that falls somewhere in between the appealing melodies of pop and the energy of EDM.

The song has a modern and polished production, which really allows the mix to stand out for its clarity and depth. The low end is really fat and punchy, while the mid-range is warm, but never harsh.

In addition to that, the top end has a nice, silky tone that really contributes to a smooth sounding mix that puts the vocals at the forefront.

Max M Never Wanna Leave

Max‘s work has often been compared to artists the likes of Sia, Halsey and Billie Eilish, but this artist certainly has a distinctive character, as opposed to simply trying to copy other influences along the way.

Super8 & Tab link up with Christina Novelli for huge vocal Trance track: ‘Rooftops’

Super8 & Tab

Less than a week before headlining the new ‘Armada Invites’ event in Amsterdam in tandem with fellow Trance mogul Ferry Corsten, Super8 & Tab are giving fans a head start for what may just be their best year yet.

The Finnish pair teamed up with leading songstress Christina Novelli to deliver a brand-new vocal Trance gem called ‘Rooftops‘, one of the tracks set to feature on their forthcoming ‘These Little Stories, Part 1‘ album (due in May this year).

Memories of bygone days wrapped in Trance-tinged goodness, ‘Rooftops‘ sees two of Trance’s finest acts join forces for the first time ever. With Super8 & Tab‘s signature melodies and bassline providing the perfect foundation for Christina Novelli’s inspiring vocals and grade A songwriting to land on, this track equals Vocal Trance on a whole new level.

Here’s what they had to say about the track:

Christina Novelli: “‘Rooftops’ is a story about youth, about laughing and living with little responsibilities and a care-free attitude to life. It is a reflection on the friendships I’ve made and the experiences we’ve enjoyed together, and I hope it inspires everyone to keep having fun with the people you connect with.

Super8 & Tab: “It was such a pleasure to work with Christina, and what an exciting track we managed to create together. ‘Rooftops’ is a track that a lot of people can relate to. The lyrics remind us of those endless summer nights in Finland when the sun doesn’t go down at all and we stayed up all night celebrating and enjoying the moment together with our friends. Such great memories.”

Agoria dropped the official soundtrack for “Lucky”

agoria

2019 was a spectacular year for Agoria, but already 2020 is shaping up to be just as impressive as he announces new original soundtrack for the forthcoming French movie Lucky, released on February 28th, with lead single ‘Wish Me Luck’ ft Blasé on the 22nd February.

2019 saw this long time French pioneer serve up collaborative album Drift, a debut residency at Blue Marlin in Ibiza, play live in front of 20, 000 people at the city hall in Paris and headline shows at Coachella, Epizode, IMS, Primavera Sound, DC10, Sonar Off, Tomorrowlands, Ushuaia Closing, Fabric, Awakenings, Rumours Tel Aviv and Womb NYE amongst many more. He also recently finished his critically acclaimed debut solo art show during Art Basel Miami at Scope, curated by Santiago Guggenheim.

Having already soundtracked the Fendi party at Milan Fashion Week, the rest of 2020 will see Agoria play Unlimited Festival, DGTL in Amsterdam, Brazil and Chile and Kappa Futur as well as serve up new music, movie scores and remixes.

The first of those is this soundtrack, which is the second one Agoria has produced for director Olivier Van Hoofstadt. Lucky is a comedy about a pair of friends who need to get out of financial difficulty. To do so they have a genius idea: steal a dog from the drug squad who can sniff them out some narcotics to sell. Things don’t quite go as planned, however, and when they link up with a bent cop, hilarity ensues.

For his part, Agoria has produced an evocative and sympathetic electronic soundtrack that enriches the movie from start to finish. Like his last soundtrack Drift, Lucky confirms Agoria’s talent for the sensuality of acoustic melodies and the refinement of modernist productions, without ever completely forgetting his electronic roots.

The album features guests such as Jacques, STS, Blasé and Sacha Rudy and kicks off with the emotive vocoder vocals of ‘Visit‘, a perfect piece of futuristic dance pop. ‘All Over You‘ then offers a lush melodic journey and ‘Police‘ is a playful, swaggering groove with funky guitar riffs. ‘Chien Chienne‘ is a dark, sparse and more experimental piece with plenty of bass and ‘Satan‘ is brilliantly unsettling ambiance. Elsewhere there is the frazzled and paranoid ‘Call of the Wild‘, serene synth interlude ‘Unlucky‘ and driving beats of ‘Obedience‘ before ‘Tresor‘ suspends you in a starry night sky.

He says, “When Olivier contacted me last year to compose the music for the film, I was releasing my new album, I was on tour and engaged in other projects, saw I thought I would have no time for it. Then I saw the film. I love its Belgian humour, so I jumped onboard.

More than a soundtrack, it is an album inspired by the music of the film. Like Drift, I am surrounded by many guests and musicians: Jacques, STS, Blasé and of course my young friend Sacha Rudy with whom I composed most of the original music.

With Olivier, nothing ever goes as planned. A few years ago, when we had just finished a clip in Tokyo, we stopped for a drink. Two minutes later, we were kidnapped and drugged by the owners of the bar. And this is not a joke. Anyway, all’s well that ends well and I’m happy to finally present this new soundtrack.”

Director Van Hoofstadt adds, “We were finishing the editing of Go Fast and Stéphane Lecomte introduced me to Agoria’s work. I immediately wanted him to compose the score for the new film. A few days later Seb sends his score for Code 1026. We meet and the current flows. It’s a pleasure to work together and I am very proud and very happy with what Sebastien has created as a universe for Lucky.”

Lead single ‘Wish Me Luck‘ is already out and is a lush house groove with an acoustic lead and deeply buried bass that picks you up and carries you away. Blasé‘s tender vocal harmonies lend it waves of emotion and will have you singing and swaying along with the finger clicks and lush chords.

This album marks yet another standout achievement in the ever-evolving career of this most accomplished Frenchman.

Tracklist:
1) Agoria & Jacques – Visit
2) All Over You feat. Sacha Rudy (Lucky Edit)
3) Police (Lucky edit)
4) Agoria & Sacha Rudy – Chien Chienne
5) Agoria & Sacha Rudy – Satan

Ushuaïa Ibiza reveals CamelPhat & Solardo as new resident artists for 2020

ANTS Ushuaïa Ibiza

Ushuaïa Ibiza announces triple Platinum-selling & Grammy-nominated DJ and producer duo CamelPhat will headline a brand new residency alongside multi-award-winning duo Solardo at the iconic open-air club this summer.

The acclaimed DJs will move to The Night League‘s award-winning daytime venue after a hugely successful 2019 residency at neighboring nightclub Hï Ibiza. CamelPhat and Solardo will takeover Ushuaïa Ibiza every Wednesday this season from June 17th to September 30th.

Grammy-nominated Liverpool duo CamelPhat, AKA Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala will undoubtedly draw in huge crowds this season. The duo is on a never-ending triumphant streak, soaring to the top as they continue to propel house and techno onto the mainstage, selling out headline shows and tours at leading festivals such as Creamfields, Tomorrowland, EDC, and Glastonbury and major venues like Brixton Academy and Warehouse Project events.

The Grammy and Ivor Novello nominated duo has amassed over 500 million streams across their catalog, placed at #5 in Mixmag’s Top 10 DJs of 2019, and named the biggest selling artist of all time by Beatport. When CamelPhat isn’t making magic in the studio this summer, with a debut album in the works, they’ll be performing to thousands at Ushuaïa‘s poolside stage.

“We are thrilled & honored to be headlining such an incredible space as Ushuaïa. To be featured alongside these world-famous headline acts is hugely overwhelming & very exciting. It’s a massive opportunity to develop further as artists on the biggest & best stage in the world.

It’s going to be a lot different from the past 2 years which saw ourselves & Solardo hold down a very successful Tuesday night residency at Hï but this is something we have to grab with both hands & give it our best shot. Roll on Wednesday’s at Ushuaïa”, says CamelPhat.

Solardo, AKA James Eliot & Mark Richards, will bring the same energy with which they closed their residency last year. More often referred to as the driving force of the current UK house scene, they amass widespread plaudits for their role as not just hugely popular DJs, but also label owners, and innovative forward-thinking producers.

Their remix of iconic house tune ‘Move Your Body‘, in collaboration with legendary producer Marshall Jefferson, instantly became a modern-day anthem and broke a Beatport Chart all-time record, staying at No.1 for 46 days. Turning anything they touch to gold, their record ‘XTC’ was hailed as one of the tracks of the summer last year in Ibiza.

Solardo says, “Last year was a huge year for us in Ibiza, our biggest yet. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better we were offered to move our residency to, in our opinion, the best venue in the world… Ushuaïa! Expect more of the same, huge house and techno bangers, and nothing but insane vibes every Wednesday with us and CamelPhat holding it down!”

The boys are once again teaming up for what is set to be one of Ibiza’s most remarkable residencies of 2020. While the full line-up is yet to be announced, the tickets are on sale now, here.

Steve Lawler debuts on Armada Subjekt with ‘Kaleidoscope / Teleidoscope’

Steve Lawler

A fresh twist within the scope of his long-lasting career, Steve Lawler has landed on Armada Subjekt with a two-track masterpiece: ‘Kaleidoscope / Teleidoscope’.

With his debut release on the imprint, the DJ, producer and label owner whips up a flurry of grooves bound to find their way into the heart of dance music culture.

Following his timeless edit of Harry Romero‘s 2001 classic ‘Tania‘ last year, this new release brings with it a sense of floor-filling that has the Steve Lawler trademark stamped all over it.

Constantly twisting and turning to change the listener’s perspective with beefed-up beats and melodic sparkles, both ‘Kaleidoscope‘ and ‘Teleidoscope‘ conjure up sonic images sure to blow anyone’s mind.

Here’s what Steve Lawler had to say about his new release:

“This is something a little different for me, but when I bury myself in the studio for days on end, I have no idea what’s going to come out. I don’t write music for any particular label or to get onto anyone’s radar. I’m in the fortunate position to be able to write what ever I feel that day or the next and this rolling electronic affair is my way of paying homage to the greats like Steve Rachmad, who I have been a huge fan of for many years.

This whole track was made with analog instruments and made the old way playing synths, opening and closing the modules and recording live. Writing music soothes me in ways many things can’t, and I hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it.”
