Ravers can indulge themselves! Legendary promoters ID&T stir millions of memories this week as they announce that on Saturday night July 4th 2020, they will bring a brand new show to the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam called Beyond Sensation.
Inspired by the most groundbreaking dance concepts of the organization, ID&T is taking the next step with Beyond Sensation. It will be a premium dance experience that focuses even more on live entertainment, show and spectacular production.
Beyond Sensation marks the start of a new chapter for ID&T and will be the prologue of something even bigger. On the 4th of July, the creators of Sensation will give a preview of how they envision the future of live entertainment.

Here’s what organizer Eric Keijer had to say about this brand new music event: “When we started the Sensation adventure in 2000, we had no idea it would become that big. In 2017 we stopped at our peak because we felt it was time for something new. With Beyond Sensation we’re going to take the first step in that direction.”

Built on the core principle of showcasing Nottingham’s incredible potential, unrivalled creative talent and making a lasting change within the community, Wigflex City Festival brought locals, regulars and new recruits together earlier this summer to explore the breathtaking spaces Wigflex has been utilising for over 13 years of raucous parties.
With over fifteen of Nottingham’s independent venues used in 2019, including Metronome and The Brickworks, Wigflex City Festival 2020 promises more chaotic sets in old Nottingham caves, car parks, basements, hidden streets and out of sight warehouses to ensure that even more of the city is explored by dancers next summer.
Never losing sight of its DIY roots, this is a festival strictly on Wigflex‘s terms, guaranteeing the highest quality parties, a challenging and diverse roster of talks and workshops and a flurry of curveballs across the running time.

“Everyone thought I was bonkers to gamble everything I own on the first festival and I’m still undecided as to whether it was the smartest or dumbest decision I’ve ever made, but the one thing I’ve always been 100% set on is that there had to be a second instalment.
The first festival came together in a way that I could have only ever dreamed of…It was like seeing every single thing that I know and love about Nottingham come together in one big beautiful way and to have that experience shared by so many people and artists that I love and respect was just incredible. Putting it into words seems silly, but seeing the whole city come alive was really special and I think it’s exactly what Nottingham needs more of, so I’m determined to keep going and making each year more memorable than the last. It’s that feeling that’s kept me in this game for over 13 years.
The business side of things have been testing, but I’m hoping that all of the lessons and hurdles we’ve come across have brought about positive growth and I’m so excited for 2020. The support that we’ve received across the board for this festival has also played a huge part in giving us the confidence to keep going because it’s not exactly the best time / climate to be a DIY, independent party promoter…but we’ve got no plans of stopping any time soon.”

From Portugal with love: entirely new kind of mixer that also enables the subtraction of two signals.
ADDAC System continues on its rogue path of innovation in the Eurorack space with the introduction of its new 216 Sum & Difference module, available now and priced at €125.
Put simply, the 216 does what other mixers cannot do: instead of allowing just the summing of two input signals, it also enables the possibility of subtracting the two signals. From a creative perspective, this allows users to attain the difference of two CVs (control voltages) or to cancel the phase of two audio signals.
“We are excited to introduce our new 216 Sum & Difference module,” said André Gonçalves, founder of ADDAC System.
“One of our primary design criteria is to create modules that don’t yet exist and that we wish we had. The 216 is another example of that, and our hope is that by introducing modules with unconventional circuit designs, we can help customers find undiscovered paths in their sonic journeys” he added.
Instead of allowing just the summing of two input signals, the new ADDAC System 216 Sum & Difference module also enables the possibility of subtracting the two signals.
A peculiar signal flow meant to inspire
The resulting signal from the 216 module, whether it be sum or subtraction, is then routed through a switchable (on/off) full rectification circuit labeled Absolute before the mixed signal then goes through another attenuverter labeled Amplitude which controls the resulting signal gain.
Since the Amplitude control is an attenuverter, it gives users the possibility to invert the incoming signal. Finally, after the Amplitude control comes an AC/DC coupling switch followed by an bipolar Offset knob.
In addition to the main output on the 216, there is also an inverted output for each of the A and B sections. These outputs are also summed, and sent to the Average Output. Using a single input, for instance either of the X or Y inputs, the module can also be used as a simple dual Attenuverter and Offset CV processor — with full rectification and AC coupling options.
The 216 Sum & Difference module will also be available as a full DIY kit in the near future.

Global house music institution Defected has announced a brand new Ibiza festival, marking 20 years of the label’s events on the island.
The four-day Defected Ibiza Festival will run from Thursday 14th into the early hours of Monday 18th May 2020, with day and night parties at various Ibiza locations, featuring the biggest DJs from the Defected, Glitterbox and Classic Music Company rosters.
The new festival is a natural next step for Defectedafter establishing sell-out festivals in Croatia and London. Its biggest Ibiza offering to date, Defected Ibiza Festival builds on the undeniable reputation the brand has earned on the island since 2000, when the fledgling label partnered with Ministry of Sound at Pacha. Two decades later, the residency at Eden and sister-label Glitterbox‘s residency at Hï Ibiza are the party mecca’s hottest success stories.
Providing an Ibiza openings weekend solution with festival pass and accommodation packages to suit all budgets, Defected Ibiza Festival will kick off on Thursday 14th with a day party, followed by a pre-party and Defected‘s opening night at Eden in San Antonio on Friday.

Following a truly record-breaking edition, the jaw-dropping AMF aftermovie has arrived, showcasing the flurry of highlights from a truly sensational night at the 2019 event on Saturday 19 October.
Breaking all records as the biggest AMFof all time, the showpiece finale of ADE saw the largest ever crowd flock to the iconic Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam for an epic celebration of dance music, where a glittering ensemble of the world’s finest electronic talent were in attendance throughout the overnight event.
More than 40,000 fans from all corners of the globe gathered in the enormous ArenA to witness the crowning ceremony of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll, won by Belgian duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. The pair celebrated with a surprise 30-minute performance during the night, as ravers were treated to a high-power spectacle that saw the entire crowd jumping across the ArenA during fan-favourite ‘Crowd Control’.
The AMF aftermovie captures the mind-blowing atmosphere of the evening, with viewers sent whizzing down a vibrant and colourful path, filled with the explosive flashes of pyrotechnics and mind-bending lazerbeams that captivated the energetic crowd and saw AMF own the night in style for a 7th consecutive year. AMF hosted a truly eclectic selection of artists, with Dutch sensation Mike Williams opening the night with a vivaciously high-energy set.
Bursting into life with performances across the night from multi-platinum superstar Jonas Blue, trance titan Armin van Buuren and future house maestro Don Diablo, the AMF 2019 aftermovie explores every minute detail of the 9-hour event, which also included a mesmerically dark performance from versatile French maestro David Guetta, and an hour of progressive anthems from Alesso.
In addition to this, fans were treated to a masterclass from legendary DJ/producer Tiësto, a wonderfully rapturous showing from Timmy Trumpet B2B W&W as part of the annual II=I concept, and the night’s frenetic finale from hardstyle king, Coone.

One of the world’s biggest and most celebrated music and art festivals, Sziget, took home the award for ‘Best overseas festival” at the UK Festival Awards 2019 last night for the second year running. Sziget stood out among six of its contemporaries including Altitude Comedy Festival, Afro Nation, Pol’and’Rock Festival, Snowbombing and Tomorrowland in the category compiled by experts and voted for by the public.
