BT revisits the sounds from Trance’s glory days with new single: ‘Atari’s Lantern’

BT

Throughout his decades-long reign as one of Trance music’s founding fathers, BT has been an undisputed progenitor of the sound. This frequently requires exploring where few dare to venture, and in this case, harvesting sounds from Trance’s glory days to breathe new life into them.

That’s exactly what inspired BT to join up with Ferry Corsten for last year’s collaboration ‘1997‘, and that in turn paved the way for ‘Atari’s Lantern‘, another inspired single from the hand of the Grammy-nominated film composer, recording artist and Godfather of Trance.

Oozing with nostalgic musicality and elegant production glow, ‘Atari’s Lantern‘ is a stellar example of Trance music done right. Shimmering in ethereal vocal breaths, gorgeous chords and swirling arpeggios, this track shows exactly how BT managed to remain one of the scene’s most illustrious tastemakers.

BT: “In a sense, ‘Atari’s Lantern’ is a continuation of the thought thread of my song with Ferry, ‘1997’. For years and years, people have asked me to incorporate elements of my first two albums – ‘IMA’ and ‘ESCM’ – in a modern electronic music context. When Ferry and I did 1997, I pulled out a bunch of my old synths and patches from the ’90s: things like the Kurzweil K2500 (melodic acid lines), a Roland modified TB-303 (Devilfish), a JP-8000 and a bunch of other things I was working with at that time.

I was so inspired using and listening to some of these old sounds I actually wrote several tracks in this style of ’90s reverence with Trance 2.0. People freaked out over ‘1997’, so I’m pretty sure that anyone that liked that will love this as well.”

Tensnake teases forthcoming album with first original release of 2020: ‘Automatic’ feat. Fiora

Tensnake

After setting the tone with ‘Rules’ (feat. Chenai) at the end of 2019, Tensnake aptly followed suit today to show exactly why the coming year has his name written all over it.

With a brand-new single called ‘Automatic’ (feat. Fiora), the German electronic music phenomenon not only delivers a single infused with bags of pop appeal, but also offers a sneak preview of his forthcoming artist album ‘L.A.’

Stealing the show with groovy bass swirls and striding vocals before the colorful lift-off, ‘Automatic’ adds radiance and spirit to the global nightlife scene. From its playful attitude to its club-tailored vibe, this track will prove a perfect prelude to an exciting year of releases ahead for Tensnake.

Talking about his upcoming artist album and its lead single, Tensnake said:

“I have been impatiently waiting for this day to finally officially announce that a new Tensnake album is on the way. ‘Automatic’ is the first single and I couldn’t be happier to have it out now. The origins of this song go way back. It is a cover of one of my all-time favorite ‘80s songs, and Fiora and I recorded the vocals while we were working together on my debut album ‘Glow’ in 2013.

I’ve always loved it, even though it did not make it onto my first album. So seven years later, I gave it a new treatment, reproduced the music, and now it’s finally coming out. I hope you like it as much as I do.”

Dutch superstar DJ and producer, Afrojack returns for the fourth time to headline the Mainstage at PAROOKAVILLE. Following pop collaborations with luminaries including David Guetta, he has recently delivered driving Future-Bass sounds again, and last year he enchanted the massesat PAROOKAVILLE again with his hi-energy set.

Belgium’s Amelie Lens is a special newcomer to the arsenal of headliners. 29-year-old Amelie’s stellar rise began in 2016 with her minimalistic atmospheric Techno sounds. Today she is a fixture on the international scene, and 2020 will finally see her debut performance at PAROOKAVILLE.

The Australian DJ Fisher also enjoyed a skyrocketing start in 2018 with his track “Losing It”, which became one of the most-played festival tracks around the world. His set in Desert
