Calvin Harris just announced for Creamfields 2020

Calvin Harris

Grammy award winning DJ and producer Calvin Harris returns to Creamfields this summer to headline the Arc Stage on Saturday 29th August Bank holiday weekend for what will be a UK dance festival exclusive.

Having become a firm Creamfields favourite over the years and pulling one of the biggest crowds at the 2019 festival, Calvin remains something of an enigma that’s hard to match – his world-beating success and hit collaborations with some of the world’s biggest stars means he’s got that coveted mainstream appeal, but as anyone who’s seen one of his DJ sets will be able to attest, he’s still got the club-honed cool that has propelled him to the top of his game.

It’s also the perfect time to announce his return to the electronic music festival, as he’s just about to drop some new music, the start of a new project for the producer and scheduled for release Friday 24th January.

Creamfields returns to Daresbury in Cheshire, UK from 27th – 30th August Bank Holiday weekend, with Calvin Harris the latest addition to an already exciting line-up.

Artists announced to date include Armin van Buuren, Pendulum TRINITY, Camelphat, The Chainsmokers, and BICEP (Live) with plenty more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Viberate predicts Best Dance Recording Grammy Winner

Viberate

The 62nd Grammy noms for Best Dance Recording gave a nod to some of the industry juggernauts such as Skrillex and The Chemical Brothers, who also lead the Electronic acts in the number of nominations, and are rumoured to snatch Best Electronic Album. But it’s Meduza’s smash hit “Piece Of Your Heart” that brought its maker the most impressive growth in recent months.

In their editorial project jokingly dubbed “The Instagrammys”, live music platform Viberate went and measured each nominee’s online popularity growth in the past six months (July to December 2019), discovering that Meduza is the fastest rising new Electronic act. Compared to other nominees, Meduza’s growth was consistently the biggest throughout major streaming and social media channels.

The Italian House trio might seem like a surprise entry, but the numbers speaks otherwise. Thanks to its big break during Ibiza, “Piece Of Your Heart” later landed on multiple year-end charts globally (including Top 5 most shazamed songs of 2019), was certified Platinum in 5 EU countries and Australia, and was streamed in tens of millions.

In this light, the track can be viewed as this year’s “mainstream contender” opposite critically acclaimed Bonobo and Rüfüs du Sol, especially since the commercially successful Electronic powerhouses such as Marshmello or The Chainsmokers were completely overlooked by the Academy this year.

Meduza‘s skyrocketing to Electronic fame can be seen in the infographic below.

David Guetta releases rework of ‘Make It To Heaven’ with MORTEN and RAYE

david guetta jack back

After the original ‘Make It To Heaven’ surpassed 12 million streams, 1.6 million views and 9000 radio plays, David Guetta returns with a rework of the fan favorite.

David Guetta gives the record new life after being hugely popular in clubs around the world, the new edit is radio-ready and is yet another great addition to his hit catalogue of cross-over pop tracks.

From ‘Never Be Alone’ to their remix for Avicii’s ‘Heaven‘, ‘Make It Heaven‘ and now the rework, they continue to diversify their musical offering and have found a synergy that breeds innovation in the studio.

The UK pop sensation, singer and songwriter RAYE returns as a vocalist, delivering her signature sound and second-to-none vocal range which is showcased even further in the new version.

Above & Beyond ask ‘how does it feel?’ with a cover of New Order classic, ‘Blue Monday’

Above & Beyond

Few tracks capture the indie-electronic spirit that inspires Above & Beyond quite like New Order’s iconic single from 1983: ‘Blue Monday’.

One of the most recognizable riffs in electronic music, ‘Blue Monday’ was a platinum-selling record in the U.K., inspiring a generation of producers – Jono, Tony, and Paavo included – with its innovative sound design.

Debuted during Above & Beyond’s sold-out show at London’s Alexandra Palace in 2013, this full-throttle remake recreates the classic riff and drums on modern hardware. Until today, it’s been a closely guarded, electrifying dance floors from New York’s Madison Square Garden to Glastonbury Festival.

With Above & Beyond’s label, Anjunabeats, entering its twentieth year, the band’s audacious homage to one of club music’s biggest anthems drops today, Monday the 20th of January a.k.a. “Blue Monday”. How does it feel? Pretty good, if you ask us.

Kevin Saunderson and Patrick Topping start the year strong with monumental collab: ‘Frisk’

Kevin Saunderson
Kevin Saunderson at Rex Club

Kevin Saunderson prepares to kick off the 2020 KMS calendar strong, dropping a collaboration with one of the U.K.’s most sought-after DJs and producers on the circuit: TRICK label head Patrick Topping.

Frisk‘ is not the first sighting of the guys joining forces as Patrick played on Kevin‘s Origins stage at Detroit’s Movement Festival in 2018. Kevin carefully curates the Origins line-ups to reflect his vision of artists that have built fruitful legacies, who are making waves in the present and driving the scene forward.

Kevin Saunderson: “Patrick Topping is the present and the future, there’s no doubt about it. He played a fantastic set for Origins, and we completely connected. He’s a straight-up, humble guy, who makes straight-talking music, which is why we aligned so well in making this track.”

Patrick Topping: “It’s obviously a massive dream to collaborate with Kevin Saunderson. Inner City’s ‘Big Fun’ was one of the first House tracks I ever fell in love with. It’s an honour to work with one of the inventors of Techno, as I’ve been a massive fan for years.”

Frisk‘ is straight fire, and a hefty weapon to work the clubs with. KMS favorite Justin Cholewski once again delivers the goods on remix duty, adding a darker edge to the original like he did on Inner City‘s most recent single, ‘Believe‘.
