Erick Morillo and Antranig link up on progressive new single ‘Afrotech’

Erick Morillo and fellow New York-based DJ and producer Antranig have unveiled their new collaborative single ‘Afrotech’, out now via SONDOS.

A slick progressive house cut, laced with seductive vocal whispers and perfectly measured euphoria, ‘Afrotech‘ is evidence of two gifted electronic music producers doing what they do best.

Last summer Morillo resurfaced the acclaimed SONDOS imprint, a division under the umbrella of his co-founded Subliminal Records, with the aim of releasing more of the kind of organic, dancefloor-ready sounds that brought it much success at the turn of the century. ‘Afrotech‘ is a perfect example of this.

“I’m very excited about my first release of 2020,” Erick explains.

“It’s a deep, techy, groovy track that I’ve been playing since ADE 2019. It always gets an amazing reaction and at last year’s Elrow ADE event it completely blew up the dance floor. Antranig is a very talented fellow New Jersey producer who is no stranger to the scene. Last year he received my Beatport #1 with ‘Back 2 House’, also released on SONDOS, and I really enjoyed producing ‘Afrotech’ with him” he added.

Over the last few years Antranig has reemerged as a formidable powerhouse in the dance music scene, releasing a slew of hit productions and remixes, playing at some of the biggest clubs on the planet, and being touted by dance music giants around the globe as one of the most important talents in the scene today. His tracks have been consistently playlisted by a long list of elite DJs, such as Morillo, David Guetta, Carl Cox, Steve Angello, Axwell and many more.

Releasing his first record back in 1992 on the iconic Strictly Rhythm imprint, Morillo is now into the 27th year of his illustrious music career, and remains as consistent in his output as ever.

Enhancing his reputation with his weekly ‘Sessions’ parties in New York, it wasn’t long before the platinum-selling artist was throwing some of the biggest parties in dance music, including the annual Subliminal Sessions at the Miami Winter Music Conference and his now-legendary Pacha Ibiza residency. Meanwhile his longstanding ‘Erick Morillo Presents Subliminal Sessions‘ radio show is currently broadcast in 54 different countries.

A gloriously understated yet infectious slice of house music, ‘Afrotech‘ sees Erick Morillo back to his best alongside Antranig.

STANDERWICK has been a genuine force to be reckoned with in the Trance realm for years, but that doesn’t mean he shies away from a bit of experimentation here and there.

When asked to deliver a trademark remix of Gareth Emery and Ashley Wallbridge‘s ‘Kingdom United‘ album single ‘Never Before‘ (feat. Jonathan Mendelsohn), the U.K. DJ and producer rode the wave of inspiration to whip up an additional version: the STANDERWICK Chill Mix.

Deep-diving into his creative mojo, STANDERWICK shows a new side to his production prowess with this radiant rendition of Gareth Emery and Ashley Wallbridge‘s ‘Never Before’. With classic, smooth-as-silk leads, Jonathan Mendelsohn‘s striding vocals and quirky beats, this remix is the sonic equivalent to a clear blue sky.

STANDERWICK: “It is always the greatest of pleasures to remix a tune of Gareth’s and this time from both himself, Ashley Wallbridge and Jonathan Mendelsohn, a song taken from their recent album. I was asked to do an uplifting remix of the tune and found myself playing with a more chill-out idea as well. I was absolutely delighted that Garuda were into both of my remixes and that both will see a release on the label. Happy days!”

HellKey has dropped a brand new single ‘The Summoning’

After the great success of his previous release, Incantation – By the Good I see in the Other (more than 60’000 streams on Spotify and lots of playlists sharing this song), super-talented DJ and producer, HellKey proposes again a song that walks on the path of Dubstep.

This time wobbles are less aggressive but more intricate and elaborative, melodies go side by side with heavy deep bass, and keytar solos are a very distinctive element of his latest production.

This track is the perfect description of a specific feeling. Each song is a spell, it evokes something (a memory, an emotion, pure energy, etc) that sometimes could be so colossal and magnificent to astound everybody. That feeling of magnificence is what this song is about. When that alchemy happens, no matter if you are the summoner or the beholder, it’s the greatest feeling ever. If you have a hell of a life, you can always rely on this summoning spell or its summoner.

This is what happened to HellKey when in 2014 he saw Skrillex live for the first time (and turned on a deep love in him for Dubstep), and it still happens when he listens to the amazing works of his favourite artists. Snails has heavily inspired this song. Hopefully, “this Summoning” will motivate and inspire many other people.

For this year’s Blue Monday on January 20th, One World Radio is teaming up with the English superstar DJ, producer and songwriter Jonas Blue for Jonas Blue Monday – brightening up the saddest and most depressing day of 2020.

Nobody else would be better to lift up the vibe than the British artist, who will take over the beats throughout the entire morning, hosting a special show from 08:00 until 12:00 CET, helping the listeners to get rid of the melancholic sadness with a selection of his best tracks.

Armin van Buuren drops first batch of ‘Balance’ remixes

It’s been almost three months since Armin van Buuren unleashed his seventh artist album, and ‘Balance’ is still lighting up the electronic dance music realm.

After unveiling the ‘Balance‘-themed murals in New York, Mexico City and Amsterdam, launching a full-fledged ‘Balance’ escape room in the Dutch capital, seeing the album gain the certified gold status in the Netherlands within five days and evoking a truckload of magical moments through album track features in live shows across the globe, Armin van Buuren is adding even more fireworks into the mix by launching the first batch of ‘Balance’ remixes.

For the remixes, Armin van Buuren called upon the specific remix skills of several of dance music’s finest. Offering up imaginative new directions of respectively ‘Mr. Navigator’, ‘It Could Be’ and ‘Runaway’, i_o, Genix and Erly Tepshi adopt a more club-suited approach.

Between Genix‘s dark Techno-tinged version of ‘It Could Be’ and Erly Tepshi‘s atmospheric take on ‘Runaway‘, i_o delivers a ferocious remix of Armin van Buuren and Tempo Giusto‘s‘Mr. Navigator’.

Driven by bulldozing kick-bass combos, crude hi-hats and the raw vocals of the original, this edit brings with it a natural aptitude for dance floor domination due to its extreme amounts of energy and power. Over the past several years, BICEP have made waves across the dance music industry. While their infectious production style and massively popular DJ sets have been the backbone of their success, their most lauded achievement has been their spectacular live shows, and it’s just been announced they’ll be returning to Creamfields UK this summer to perform their live show at the festival for the first time on Sunday 30th August Bank Holiday weekend.

Much like their tracks, BICEP‘s live shows showcase a duo who’ve well and truly mastered their craft and know how to please a crowd. It’s a show packed full of complex live wizardry, as the duo play the role of conductor and full electronic orchestra, and like any great live performers, the make it seem almost effortless in the process. Celebrating the new year in typically breathtaking fashion, elrow announces new concept elrow’art first European tour, taking in Madrid’s Art Week and London’s Roundhouse, to premiere Kaos Garden, powered by Desigual, in brand new cities.

In 2019, elrow‘art joined forces with Desigual and multidisciplinary artist Okuda San Miguel to create a unique spectacle that has never been seen before: an audio-visual feast named Kaos Garden where, through avant-garde art and electronic music from the mind of Paco Osuna, the audience features as an integral part of the experience.

The beloved confetti and immersive production remains, but the theme unfolded within Okuda‘s reinterpretation of the famous painting, ‘The Garden Of Earthly Delights‘, and signified elrow‘s commitment to once again consistently pushing the envelope creatively.

Julian Jeweil returns to Drumcode with stunning 5-track EP, ‘Schema’

Twelve months on from his outstanding debut album on Drumcode ‘Transmission’ , Julian Jeweil returns with a stellar five-track EP titled ‘Schema’.

Since his label debut in 2017 with EPs ‘Rolling‘ and ‘Space‘, Julian Jeweil has confirmed his place as one of Drumcode‘s most vital artists. He’s been a mainstay of label events, playing the main stage of Drumcode Festival in both 2018 and 2019, Drumcode Halloween in ’19 and multiple showcases at Watergate in Berlin.

‘Transmission‘, his maiden LP, dropped in January 2019 and was an early year highlight, reinforcing his production nous.

Inspired by his experiences touring off the back of the album, ‘Schema‘ EP offers up a quintuplet of cuts showcasing the rawer and ravier side of the Frenchman’s sound. The title track is an immersive roller, primed for a Sunday session at Berghain. ‘Outline’ ups the intensity with cascading synth effects and galloping beats.

‘Music‘ is the delicious brain-scrambler thanks to its intoxicating brew of shuffling beats, vox and swirling acid. ‘Axis‘ is a slam dunk of industrial bass and 303s that builds to a grin-inducing climax. ‘Landscape’ plunges the atmosphere into deeper territory, still propelled by a pummeling bass and acidic inflections.

Brando pushes into 2020 with new dance anthem: ‘Look Into My Eyes’

Drawing inspiration from the numerous musical influences he indulged in growing up in Los Angeles, singer-songwriter Brando is releasing his first single of 2020, ‘Look Into My Eyes’. The record was produced by the Amsterdam born DJ/Producer Avedon with input from guitarist Camden Bench.

‘Look Into My Eyes’ started off with the idea of flipping the ‘90s record ‘Would I Lie To You Baby’ by the UK duo Charles & Eddie. The end result is a range of cool vibes that dictate the groove with an innate catchiness that makes the track itself stand apart from the original and is perfect for the global dance music scene.

For those unaware, Brando was the voice behind Canadian duo Loud Luxury‘s multi-million-streaming hit ‘Body’ (well over 600 million streams on Spotify) and Don Diablo’s ‘Congratulations’, the latter of which is currently climbing the U.S. Mediabase Dance Chart through a surge of radio plays.

After making waves on an international scale with ‘Body’ and more recently ‘Congratulations’, Brando is also a prolific songwriter and was part of the team that penned the Loud Luxury and Bryce Vine smash ‘I’m Not Alright’ which is a top 10 record on US Dance charts. Amplifying the momentum generated through his earlier collaborations, Brando’s return to Armada Music means the birth of another sure-fire dance anthem.

Here’s what Brando had to say about his new single:

“I wanted to write a song that conveyed the current lifestyle that I’ve stumbled into, one in which I’m often performing at clubs late at nightand I observe guys who have a girlfriend back at home worried about whether their boyfriend out cheating. I wanted to capture that tension in a relationship where you really have to trust your partner will do the right thing.”

While his immediate pipeline is stacked full of more amazing collabs with artists such as Matoma and BRKLYN, he’s also in the studio finishing up an EP for release later this year. Fans will be excited to know Brando is working on tour dates that will be announced soon, as he’s ready for the world to discover what he’s all about, starting with his first single of 2020: ‘Look Into My Eyes’.

ORIGEN FEST announces ELROW as the first show of its 2020 edition

The biggest electronic music festival in the Balearic Islands returns for the third year in a row to Sun Fusteret with 4 unique dates: Sunday 7th of June, Sunday 12 of July, Saturday 15th of August and Sunday 6th of September. 

Origen Fest unveils the content of the first of these four dates: On Sunday 7th of June, Son Fusteret will overflow with colour and performances thanks to ELROW.

Looking towards the future, Origen Fest is planning a sustainable and kind to the planet experience that will reduce the use of plastic and use local products. More details will be unveiled before the festival.

Last year Origen Fest held 30.000 attendees, a number that will highly increase in the next edition, due to the great growth of international audiences that the brand is experimenting with.
