Hï Ibiza has been voted the World’s No.1 Club for the second successive year

Hï Ibiza has been voted the World’s No.1 Club for the second successive year in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs poll, a globally respected barometer for electronic music clubs across the planet.

The Ibiza club swept to victory in the public vote for the second time, helped no doubt by the world-beating line-ups, huge production and close attention to detail they have made their hallmark.

Speaking of the win, Yann Pissenem, CEO of Ushuaïa Entertainment and The Night League said:

“‘For the second year in a row, myself and the whole team are completely blown away that Hï Ibiza has been voted #1 Club in the World in this prestigious poll. We feel blessed and honoured that our relentless hard work has been well and truly recognised. Thank you to every single member of Ushuaïa Entertainment, The Night League and High Scream who work tirelessly around the clock to create the perfect musical experience every day of the week.

Thank you to my brother Romain who continues to bring the impossible to life. And of course, to our incredible resident DJs and guests, my partners and family. Finally, a BIG thank you to the readers of DJ Mag, everyone who voted, and everyone who comes through our doors. It is you that make Hï Ibiza the greatest club on the planet. We can’t wait to welcome you back this summer!”

Since opening in 2017 on Ibiza’s famous Playa d’en Bossa strip by Ushuaïa Entertainment (the global entertainment company led by CEO Yann Pissenem), Hï Ibiza has prided itself on being the world’s most technologically advanced club. A specially developed L-Acoustics system takes care of the sound, while lights illuminate in dazzling displays across the club’s various spaces.

The Theatre, inspired by Italian amphitheatres, has a dancefloor surrounded by a raised terrace that hosts the VIP area. In addition to the CO2 Megatron, BB4 lasers and confetti, each residency there takes full advantage of the high-definition, full-width LED screen to ensure no two events look the same.

The Club Room has a low ceiling for heads-down, lost-in-the-music moments, a dancefloor-level DJ booth, and lighting installations that suffuse the space in a kaleidoscope of colours.

The Wild Corner is an unofficial third room: the unisex bathrooms boast a state-of-the-art DJ booth, and a ceiling lit up with vivid illuminations. Dancers who head outside will encounter The Magic Garden and the Secret Garden, great spaces to cool off for a while before diving back into the fray, plus a VIP outdoor terrace with its own private bar.

This year, Hï Ibiza‘s weekly residencies include Black Coffee, David Guetta presents Future Rave, Eric Prydz presents HOLO ïbiza, FISHER, Glitterbox, Tale Of Us presents Afterlife, and The Martinez Brothers, alongside a whole host of big name guest DJs.

In addition to Hï Ibiza‘s return to the No.1 spot for the second year in a row, sister club Ushuaïa Ibiza was also voted the no. 5 club in the world. Weekly residencies at Ushuaïa Ibiza this summer include ANTS, Calvin Harris, David Guetta‘s F*** Me I’m Famous!, Martin Garrix, Tiësto, and Tomorrowland presents Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.

Hosting the biggest superstar DJs in the world, Ushuaïa Ibiza‘s iconic stage, large pool area, and open-air dancefloor guarantee an unmatched musical experience pairing incredible production with immersive performances to create truly unforgettable moments.

Booka Shade celebrate 20th Anniversary with ‘Booka Shade Reworked’ project

Celebrating twenty years of a successful project is a feat only a few artists get to experience, let alone a milestone they get to experience while still touring the globe and releasing stand-out singles as producers still at the top of their game.

But that’s precisely what 2023 brings for legendary German electronic duo Booka Shade, with the Blaufield Music bosses doubling things up with the 10th Anniversary celebrations of their flourishing record label.

Set to showcase a carefully curated series of remixes across the summer months between June and August, the duo will invite a host of exciting producers, including the likes of 8Kays, Qrion, Nils Hoffmann, Joplyn and more, to breathe new life and offer up fresh takes on some of the most iconic records from across their careers.

Up first, early June welcomes the project’s first glimpse and an insight into what’s to come with Paris-based DJ/producer Joachim Pastor remixing ‘Honeyslave’.

Harnessing the original’s resonant leads while adding brooding synths contracted by pockets of serenity and peace, Pastor’s remix is a showcase of tension and release, with intense builds, swirling pads and impactful kicks guiding the production deep into the night.

Featuring as an additional bonus, the package also features a remix from Berlin-based duo BAUGRUPPE90, who flip the pair’s famed collaboration with M.A.N.D.Y., ‘Body Language’ – upping the tempo and diving into a groove-driven, rolling techno workout as punchy percussion and hazy chords build alongside the legendary melody for a workout made for the peak time.

DJ Sammy, Amelie Larsen & Lorena Dale join forces for a remake of “Never Be Like You”

DJ Sammy

DJ Sammy, music icon with more than 20 million records sold, is back with the remake of one of the most influential dance tracks of the last decade: “Never Be Like You”.

Australian musician Flume‘s chart hit featuring Canadian artist Kai was named one of Rolling Stone magazine’s top 30 songs of 2016. “The pop realization of the twisted techno mutations of top acts like Flying Lotus, Rustie and Arca. “Never Be Like You” creeps like Justin Timberlake’s “My Love,” caught in a parade of sparkling, stuttering robotics,” the magazine wrote.

Now DJ Sammy has given the Future Bass hit an absolutely fresh look and brought on board DJ newcomer Amelie Larsen, as well as the beautiful, soulful vocals of the insanely talented Australian singer Lorena Dale.

Fans describe Lorena Dale‘s voice as sensual and powerful – full of emotion, passion and soul. They say her music is catchy and thought provoking. It creates a mood that “calms your soul and lifts your spirits.” Australian soul singer Lorena Dale has long established herself on the London live music scene.

With influences from Sade, Amy Winehouse, India Arie and Aretha Franklin, Lorena‘s sound can be described as timeless, soulful Sophisti-Pop. With an impressive career as a session singer that has taken her to stages around the world, at festivals and in major live music arenas such as the MGM Grand (Las Vegas) or the O2 Academy (Glasgow), Lorena now takes her combined experience to focus on her solo career. Her mission is to connect people through music and encourage them to live their best and brightest life.

In a new project, Lorena Dale has now lent her voice to DJ Sammy for his new hit “Never Be Like You“. DJ Sammy has created a beautiful melody that combines bounce, beat and beautiful vocals. Whether played at sunrise or sundowner, this new house anthem captures the party spirit at its peak and brings back warm memories of endless summer nights. A perfect foretaste with growing anticipation for the 2023 summer season.

Amelie Larsen is known for her impressive and emotional sets, which she creates herself with a lot of passion. From deep-rooted house sets to powerful, exciting EDM sets, she offers a variety of different styles and energy levels, which she always combines with her own appearance. With a special flair for groovy and excellent sounds and heart-rending singing, she delivers club music from the beginning to the end of her sets.

As a resident DJ at Nachtsalon Marburg, her path led her to a guest set with 2 elements at Tanit Ibiza, Vanilla Beach Ibiza and the White Pearl Mountain Days Saalbach-Hinterglemm. She was discovered by the two MyClubroom label owners DJ Sammy and Oliver Franke, who took her into management.

Now, with DJ Sammy‘s “Never Be Like You“, Amelie‘s first featuring production will be released, which will take her to the festival stages of Spring Break Croatia, AIRBEAT ONE and BigCityBeats WORLD CLUB DOME in 2023.

Recognized around the world as one of the most influential DJs of all time, he is also responsible for one of the most recognizable dance tracks of all time. DJ Sammy continues to create amazing music and collaborates with the most talented vocal artists in the business.

From his studio in Mallorca, DJ Sammy continues to release tracks that are shaping the landscape of Balearic house music and the release of future dance classics. And he’s done it again recently with the remake of Flume‘s massive hit “Never Be Like You” alongside Amelie Larsen and Lorena Dale.

Oliver Heldens has teamed up with DJs From Mars to deliver ‘Blue Monday’

Oliver Heldens

Get ready for one of the summer’s biggest anthems. Oliver Heldens has teamed up with the talented DJs From Mars to deliver what is primed to be one of the songs of the summer, featuring a sublime vocal performance from JD Davis, that perfectly compliments the addictive production behind the single!

Blue Monday‘ is celebrating its 40th anniversary and was a groundbreaking track for the Manchester band New Order upon its release in 1983.

Inspired by Giorgio Moroder‘s similarly game-changing production on Donna Summer‘s ‘I Feel LoveBlue Monday pre-empted house music and fused the sound of the pumping Hi-NRG of the era with Peter Hook‘s inimitable bass sound with explosive results, which made it ripe for reimagination.

The new version from Heldens and DJs From Mars is a respectful yet tasteful contemporary version of the classic, retaining the bounce of the original and injecting it with a slick techno sheen with infectious new synths.

Davis‘ understated delivery of the vocal is perfectly ’80s in tone, and the epic breakdown only serves to make that bassline pump harder when it drops back in. It’s been a huge moment in Heldens‘ sets recently and you can expect to hear it blasting across festival and club sound systems all summer long.

Heldens‘ stacked summer season is underway, with key headline performances coming up at The Midway in San Francisco, LA’s famed Historic Park, and Brooklyn Mirage din the US, plus headlining sets at the likes of Lollapalooza in Sweden, Tomorrowland in Belgium, Creamfields in The UK, Ultra in Croatia, Airbeat One and Parookaville in Germany, Mysteryland in The Netherlands and Fest Festival in Poland, amongst a slew of other A-list festivals across Europe.

Blue Monday‘ follows hot on the heels of Oliver‘s recent partnership with Manchester City Football Club and their star midfielder Jack Grealish, plus his collaboration with pop goddess Kylie Minogue10 Out Of 10, that just last week landed at #1 in the UK Music Week Pop Chart!

Tube & Berger

Joining forces for a collaboration of epic proportions, German musical trailblazers Tube & Berger join forces with French rocketing producer Blake Light for their hard-hitting cut Data Compromised – out now on ZEHN Records.

Demanding attention from the very first beat, the producers kick-start the cut with digitalised vocals, electrifying synths and thunderous bass.

Working together in perfect harmony, the producers combine their sounds, resulting in an explosive production that is worthy of the world’s largest and most iconic stages.

Globally renowned for infusing their rock & roll attitude into the world of tech house, Tube & Berger‘s influence can be felt throughout the depths of the dance music scene.

Emerging from the punk rock circuit, the friends discovered dance music through Daft Punk and The Chemical Brothers, and began making their own electro-influenced tracks. Amassing over 100 million Spotify streams, and rocking the world’s most iconic stages, such as Pacha and Ushuaïa Ibiza, Printworks UK, Green Valley Brazil, Parookaville Germany, Tomorrowland Belgium, Tube & Berger never fail to incorporate their larger-than-life sound and energy into every release and performance. Founding their own imprints, the duo also run Kittball Records and ZEHN Records, releasing carefully selected records from producers from both revered artists and up-and-coming acts.

Collaborating with a long list of influential musicians, Tube & Berger have released tracks with the likes of NERVO and Like Mike. As a Top 20 Beatport all-time bestseller, the duo has undoubtedly helped to shape the house genre, crafting several scene-defining records, including Imprint of Pleasure, which was named Beatport’s 9th best-selling track of all time and received an official remix by Adam Beyer.

Arthur Houille, also known as Blake Light, is French DJ and producer from Paris. Living in Brussels for over a decade, Blake‘s passion for music was ignited at a young age constantly surrounded by music while he was growing up. Developing a sense for art, he began playing guitar at the age of 10. Inspired by a friend playing records at a house party, he became fixated on DJing, mesmerised by the likes of Axwell, Richie Hawtin and Steve Angello.

During the process of finding himself, he experimented with different styles and names, but landed on Blake Light, a pun about the “black light neons” in every nightclub. Playing across the Belgian club circuit from 18 years old, Arthur cut his teeth and built his musical knowledge. His first release ‘Luzu‘ was released on Arcadia Records in 2016, marking the beginning of his career as a releasing artist.

Following up with ‘Mandala/Don’t Stop‘ in 2017, the track was released on Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman‘s Buce Records, as well as ‘Majoris‘ on Arise Records. Getting lost in his artistic journey, he felt it was not the time for him to release his own productions, so he began to create for others. His tracks were signed to Spinnin’, Warner, Sony, Enormous Tunes, Adue and many more. This year, Arthur decided it was time to return to the release front with his own tracks, marking another new chapter in his impressive career.
