Kevin de Vries finally released his long-anticipated track “Dance With Me” on Afterlife

It’s finally here! One of our favorite tracks that we’ve been hearing it the whole summer during the sets of some of the world’s leading techno DJs and producers is released today via Tale of Us‘ powerful record label Afterlife.

Afterlife family member Kevin de Vries returns to the label with his spellbinding new single ‘Dance With Me‘. Comprised undulating synth waves, punchy beats and a monotone female vocal, Kevin‘s latest track is a compelling invitation into the enchanting realm of the dance floor. Alluring, progressive and hypnotic, its power lies in its simplicity.

Kölsch handles remix duties, adding layers of funky analogue synth and ramping up the tempo for a more energized dance.

Avicii Honored with Wind Sculpture in Stockholm

avicii

Music producer, songwriter and DJ Tim Bergling, known by the stage name Avicii, was honored a work of art in the park Humlegården in central Stockholm.

On behalf of Stockholm art, the artists Adèle Essle Zeiss and Liva Isakson have created an artistic representation in memory of the Swedish musician, remixer, DJ and music producer Tim Bergling, known under the stage name Avicii (1989–2018). Standing Waves consists of three sculptural forms on each tall, narrow podium.

Bent stainless steel tubes are fitted with tensioned sheet metal sails, shaped to catch the wind. Each part has its specific shape and unique character. The tubular bodies balance on legs and turn in elegant pirouettes when the wind blows. They move through each other’s hole forms and together form a whole in a similar way to a piece of music where different components work together.

The sculpture is set in motion by the wind, which in this context also has a symbolic meaning. The wind can behave mysteriously and chaotically. Small events can lead to the release of enormous forces. With its surprising twists and turns, the wind can also be compared to life itself. It is like the challenges and opportunities that everyone is faced with and that everyone has different conditions to deal with. The speed of the wind can be associated both with success and with uncontrollable turbulence.

The City District Council of Östermalm is the initiator of the memorial site and Tim’s parents, Klas and Anki Bergling, were present at the unveiling.

“We want to pay tribute to Tim Bergling, whose music has meant so much to people around the world. The changing expression of the artwork and the location in Humlegården, one of Tim’s favorite places, make us remember him on many different levels. It is also a way of honoring all the people who have passed away far too early due to mental illness,” says Andréa Hedin (M), chair of the City District Council of Östermalm.

Timmy Trumpet, Prezioso & 71 Digits drop rework of reggae classic ‘Three Little Birds’

timmy trumpet

Fresh from performing at the likes of Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas, and Balaton Sound, legendary DJ personality Timmy Trumpet unites with chart-topping producers Prezioso and 71digits for a fresh dance take on Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds via Spinnin’ Records.

Known for flame-filled, high-octane live sets and multi-platinum selling records, Australian native Timmy Trumpet is one of the most prolific producers in the DJ Mag Top 100. Boasting high-profile collaborations with the likes of Hardwell, Showtek, Steve Aoki, R3HAB, KSHMR, Afrojack, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike to name a few, the producer has earned legendary status with hard-hitting dance anthems accented by his own trumpet performances.

Standout releases include high energy breakthrough single Freaks which hit over 405M Spotify streams, landed Platinum status in Australia seven times, and become the highest selling track of all time on Ministry of Sound Australia, whilst collaboration with Blasterjaxx Narco has landed over 42M Spotify streams and a no.1 spot in the U.S. Spotify Viral Chart.

Meanwhile, collaborator Prezioso has remained at the forefront of the dance music scene since the 90s, making waves with magnetic EDM reloaders. With previous releases on labels like Island Records, Warner Music Germany and JUUMP Records, the Italian DJ has only ascended higher since his teenage days. From starting out winning DJ competitions, Prezioso is now known for full-throttle hits like Thunder with Gabry Ponte and LUMI!X, which currently sits at over 289M Spotify streams and was certified Gold in the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Norway, and Platinum in Italy and Sweden.

Joining the collab, mysterious duo 71 Digits turn their well-oiled remix skills to Three Little Birds. Known for face-melting remixes of major hits including Michael Jackson‘s Somebody’s Watching Me alongside Netherlands star Chico Rose (108M Spotify streams) or Flo Rida‘s Low (5M streams), 71 Digits contribute another interpretation of a timeless classic.

Combining years of finely tuned expertise on the scene, Timmy Trumpet, Prezioso and 71 Digits join forces for their first collaboration. A pop fuelled dance track with heavy psytrance influences, Three Little Birds retains the transcendent feel-good energy of the original while bringing the show-stopping swagger of modern dance to the forefront.

Seven Lions shares latest album single “Call On Me” feat. Vancouver Sleep Clinic

Seven Lions

Earlier this summer, Seven Lions shocked fans by wiping his socials and later revealing he will be releasing his first ever artist album Beyond The Veil this fall. The full-length LP is set for release on Seven Lions’ own Ophelia Records imprint on October 21.

Call On Me” is dance music leader Seven Lions‘ second single from his highly anticipated debut studio album.

Filmic, room-filling chords envelop tender lyrics and vocals by Australian singer/songwriter Vancouver Sleep Clinic. Seven Lions merges a more indie and folk sensibility on Call On Me – a brief and well-executed departure from the gritty nature of first single Every Time.

Acclaimed Brisbane artist Vancouver Sleep Clinic provides his first vocal performance on Ophelia with “Call On Me“. He recently released his third studio album ‘Fallen Paradise‘ which has already amassed over 6.6M Spotify streams, while his single “The Wire” was featured in the 18th season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy (4.77M US viewers).

Vintage Culture remixes Jamie Jones’ Ibiza anthem ‘My Paradise’

With Jamie Jones’ ‘My Paradise’ a clear front-runner as summer 2022’s Ibiza anthem, receiving support across the board from underground tastemakers to daytime radio, Brazilian superstar Vintage Culture now steps up to remix the track and continue its unstoppable ascent.

While Jamie explored disco influences with his signature high-energy groove on the original, Vintage Culture’s clear-cut trademark sound gives a distinctly tougher feel, as a chugging bassline, rolling synths, and melodic piano breakdowns work together to form a journey of a mix guaranteed to captivate dancefloors from start to finish.

David Guetta, Sigala & Sam Ryder join forces on new single ‘Living Without You’

Chart-topping UK producer Sigala, global superstar David Guetta and British Eurovision talent Sam Ryder have linked up on new collaborative single ‘Living Without You’, out now on Ministry of Sound.

An anthemic, dance-pop banger, ‘Living Without You‘ combines rousing piano chords and euphoric breakdowns with Sam’s soaring vocals. The trio made a surprise live debut of the track at iconic Ibiza venue Ushuaia earlier this month. It follows on from Sigala‘s June single ‘Stay The Night‘, a collaboration with Talia Mar that currently sits at #11 in the UK Singles chart and has amassed over 40 million streams.

“I was so lucky to work with Sam just before Eurovision sent him stratospheric and I’ve wanted to work with David Guetta for years, he’s an absolute legend,” Sigala enthuses. “We did a surprise performance of the track at one of David’s shows in Ibiza, it was so special to be onstage with them both and seeing the crowd reaction.”

Sam adds: “I used to listen to Sigala and David Guetta in my car, dreaming of the day that I might get the chance to work with them. It’s amazing to think that day actually arrived for me and I feel honoured to have been a part of this track.”

A stunning three-way collaboration, ‘Living Without You‘ is destined to become one of the defining sounds of summer 2022.
