Above & Beyond returns to the dancefloor with ‘Tranquility Base Vol. 1’, a collection of five heavy-hitting club records, calling back to their instrumental roots.

Drawing inspiration from all areas of contemporary electronic music, ‘Tranquillity Base Vol. 1’ features five tracks that debuted in front of 25,000 fans in Los Angeles last October; ranging from the rolling grooves of ‘Spin Off’, to the darker atmospheric techno of ‘VLEKNO’. EP singles Angry JP8 and 500, both hit Beatport Trance #1, with the former chosen as one of TikTok’s viral songs to look out for in the UK.

The name of the EP series references Above & Beyond’s beloved Tranquility Base alias, which was revered for its contribution to the trance genre, including iconic records such as ‘Surrender’, ‘Oceanic’ and ‘Razorfish’. The ‘Tranquility Base EP’ series showcases the current instrumental records firmly lodged in Jono, Paavo, and Tony’s record boxes.

“In the same way the quieter moments on our albums have always been a major part of Above & Beyond, the bigger dancefloor moments have also been a hallmark of our sound,” says the trio.

The EP arrives at a time of prominent live shows – A&B recently headlined two sold-out shows at Printworks for the London club’s closing season and were one of a few acts selected to broadcast on Insomniac’s live stream during last weekend’s EDC Las Vegas. A&B is set to release a mix on Insomniac radio on 25th May, broadcasting at 3 pm PST, to celebrate Insomniac’s 30th anniversary.

Above & Beyond will headline The Gorge Amphitheatre on July 21-23 for the biggest iteration yet of their Group Therapy Weekender festival, alongside label stars from Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep, and Reflections. Tickets are on sale now.

Vintage Culture is also set to perform for the first time ever at SAGA Festival this year. With his unique blend of house, tech house, and bass music, Lukas Rafael Hespanhol Ruiz has become one of the most in-demand DJs and producers in the electronic dance music scene.

From the tiny municipality of Mundo Novo, the Brazilian DJ has earned over a billion streams on platforms like Spotify and has performed at many renowned festivals around the world.

In the spring of 2023 Vintage Culture begins his weekly residencies at the world’s number one club according to DJ Mag, Hi Ibiza and with the Tao Group in Las Vegas, after recently announcing his debut album to be released on his new label BOMA RECORDS. Bart Skils & Weska give us ‘Something More’ on inspired new Drumcode EP

In both friendship and music, Bart Skils and Weska are an inspired combination. Their third EP on Drumcode ‘Something More’ continues their collaborative purple patch.

A transatlantic connection that’s so far birthed the excellent ‘Polarize‘ and ‘Shades of Summer‘ EPs, plus a remix of the Sven Väth classic ‘Spectrum‘ under his Metal Master alias on Cocoon, Bart Skils and Weska are gradually developing into one of techno’s most exciting partnerships.

Something More‘ continues their on-point production flow. The title track is destined for festival stages, mixing up sharp drumlines, celestial pads and a soaring male vocal that balances the wistful and euphoric on a knife’s edge. Meanwhile, ‘Palm Strings‘ is a sleek beast, as rolling percussive loops rub shoulders with an atmospheric melody line, before a powerful bass riff takes the energy up to eleven.
