Toolroom’s founder Mark Knight lands back on his iconic imprint, updating one of House music’s most influential records ‘Let’s Get Brutal’ by Nitro Deluxe, bringing it forward to dance floors in 2023 as ‘Brutal’.

Following up his collaboration with NYC House legend Todd Terry on the label in March with ‘Make You Happy’, Mark Knight returns after digging deep into the vaults of classic House and unearthing a gem of a record.

Sat in-between Electro and House genres, Nitro Deluxe’s pivotal record ‘Let’s Get Brutal’ on legendary imprint Cutting Records helped paved the way for the early beginnings of House music as we know today.

Mark Knight – Brutal

A record that has influenced so many of House music’s iconic artists, from being sampled by Kevin Saunderson (aka Good Life) in their huge hit ‘Big Fun’ and most recently, Mark Knight.

An unmistakable record and one that struck a chord in the early career days of label boss Mark Knight, who simultaneously sought to beef up his current sets in 2023 with the magic of those early House records, when the opportunity arose to update this classic Mark Knight of course jumped straight in.

Keeping this new version sentimental to the original, with all those original synth elements included but laid over the top of an up-to-date Tech House groove with a renewed energy, so that today’s floors will appreciate that seminal riff, all over again.

Goodboys deliver a catchy and uplifting house track ‘Surrender’

British Grammy nominated producer duo Goodboys are delivering a catchy and uplifting house record ‘Surrender’, released through Tomorrowland Music!

Surrender‘ sticks true to the Goodboys‘ house-oriented drops, vocals, and rhythms, showcasing a variety of striking vocals and grooves that instantly get stuck in any listener’s head.

The track is the second original release on Tomorrowland‘s imprint with ‘Jack Flip‘ last summer and the latest addition to the UK duo’s stacked discography of hits, perfect for rinsing on repeat in clubs and at festival stages all around the world.

Goodboys – Surrender

Here’s what the duo had to say about Surrender:

“For us the song is about meeting someone who completely changes your life for the better, someone who makes you feel light again, or ‘alive again’. Whilst also understanding that any relationship there is a tradeoff, because to continue there is an element of surrendering to the other person. Like sacrificing time or giving something up because you care.

The track came about really quickly because the bounce from the day we made the song sounded close to finished, a few tweaks and we were pretty much ready to go!”

With recent high-profile releases on Diplo‘s Higher Ground (‘Kamili‘) and Insomniac Records (‘Welcome To Dinna‘) and a stunning Coachella debut, Francis Mercier is on a meteoric rise to the top.

Francis Mercier, Kiesza – Egyptian Sun

Here’s what Francis Mercier had to say about the track :

“Back in my early 20s, I used to play Kiesza’s mega hit ‘Hideaway’ on repeat and used to dream of attending Tomorrowland one day. Now, to be officially collaborating with Kiesza and Tomorrowland Music, it is a very exciting moment for me and I cannot wait for the world to hear this track. We composed it during the pandemic and I’m so happy to have it finally see the light of day.”

Kiesza added: “I’m really proud of ‘Egyptian Sun’, it’s one those songs that seemingly wrote itself. Francis and I came together to work on a different song that day, but we were so inspired in the session we wrote about three songs together and this one stood out as something really special. It also felt new to me, like I was exploring another side of myself in that moment.

I’ve also always dreamed of going to Egypt and when Francis turned on the demo track, it transported me there in my imagination, and the lyrics and melody began to roll off of my tongue. It was written quite fast, one of those songs that almost feels channeled. I’m glad it finally made its way into the world for people to find and fall in love with.”
