Electronic producer & DJ ANNA showcases “Journey Into Intentions”, the João Marques directed short film to accompany her debut ambient electronic album Intentions. Narrated and soundtracked by ANNA herself, Journey Into Intentions follows her transformative personal journey into spirituality which led to her new ambient sound and debut album.
Shot on film in Lisbon in her studio and home as well the rugged yet staggeringly beautiful coastline of Portugal’s Sintra, the film, created in the style of a visual poem, develops into an interpersonal exchange around the power of intentional living and music-making, bringing artistic fragility into focus and offering the opportunity for a deeper appreciation of ANNA‘s work.
“When we initially considered creating a mini-documentary for the album, I had concerns about finding someone who could truly grasp the message of the album and effectively collaborate with it. I wanted to preserve the essence of Intentions and convey a meaningful message.
That’s when I was introduced to João, we scheduled a meeting for the next day in my studio. Right from the start, we had an instant connection, as we had gone through similar experiences. This connection remained strong throughout the entire process of crafting the documentary, many times I went to an idea to João and we were surprised to find out he was gonna suggest exact the same thing.
João not only grasped the album’s message perfectly but also had a beautiful way of expressing it through his imagery and art. For the soundtrack, I exclusively used the stems from the album. Witnessing the music and visuals intertwine to amplify the message of Intentions has been magical.”
A profoundly immersive listening experience, Intentions is the result of ANNA‘s self-realisation journey – opening her mind and forever altering her creative process and worldly outlook in the process, which sees her trading in her tougher, club-driven production for sound healing frequencies and ambient sensibilities. With her first ambient electronic album, ANNA is proving again that her music creativity has no limits.
“When Anna and I met we quickly understood that we had gone through a lot of similar experiences and realisations in the last couple of years – and I understood the message and experience she wanted to share with her album” – João Marques
Award winning director, editor and director of photography João Marques is part of a new generation faithful to cinematic storytelling and for the last few years has been shooting emotionally infused films for most of the world’s leading agencies and major brands, across multiple countries in Europe, Africa, Middle East, South America and Asia.
“When I received the brief of this project, I immediately felt called to work on it. I’m deeply passionate about ambient music and really wanted to collaborate on an ambient project. The main goal of the film is to share the story of this new chapter in Anna’s life, and what led her to start exploring ambient music. I wanted to create a visual representation of the different states of awareness that the listener is guided to experience through the record’s intentions” – João Marques
The film’s subtle tones of intimacy and empathy against the magic and mystery of Sintra on Portugal’s Atlantic coast frames the transformative journey that inspired the creation of the “Intentions” album magnificently bringing such a unique musical story to life.
“I feel since the pandemic, our perception of reality was collectively deeply shattered, and a door was opened looking for a more conscious life – as someone who has been meditating for some years now, I feel that meditation, and this record can be a very helpful tool. So it was important to create this ‘call’ to the viewer, to dive on the experience” – João Marques
Recorded at ANNA‘s own Anaweh Studio, the album is a melodic and expansive soundscape merging with sound healing techniques and ANNA on flute & synth channelling her emotions. It also includes the recently released and spiritually minded atmospheric track ‘I See Miracles Everywhere‘ which blends her inimitable electronic music savoir-faire with sound healing and her collaboration with the electro-acoustic and contemporary classical giant East Forest, ‘Let You In‘.
Further collaborations with legendary ambient pioneer Laraaji also feature alongside remixes by London-based electronica and techno producer Max Cooper and Ivor Novello Award nominee and Grammy Award winner Jon Hopkins.
The artwork for Intentions was created with critically-acclaimed design studio Hingston Studio, led by Tom Hingston, known for his innovative visuals for Massive Attack, Nick Cave, Grace Jones and David Bowie. Through an intense creative collaborative process, ANNA and Tom Hingston worked together to create the visual identity of intricate and delicate 3D-renders of elements in nature to give a feeling of flow.
This summer marks a huge milestone for Pacha Ibiza as it celebrates its 50th Anniversary; 50 years of being the inherent pioneer of Ibiza’s dance and cultural movement, and synonymous with the rise of some of the world’s biggest DJs.
To celebrate, Pacha’s marking another milestone with some of world’s most iconic DJs, Ibiza legends Solomun and Marco Carola, who will be joining forces for the first time in history for an unforgettable back-to-back set and day-to-night party, starting at DestinoIbiza and finishing at Pacha to mark its ultimate 50th celebration party.
Pacha has played a huge role in the shaping of Solomun’s career. The ‘Solomun +1’ residency at Pacha Ibiza started in a laid-back fashion, which saw him reposition the DJ booth into the centre of the club as opposed to the usual high podium position. A move designed to ensure he was close to the people on the dancefloor. This brought about the introduction of a never-seen-before concept: a night together with only one friend. Another first for the White Island. Since its commencement in 2013, ‘Solomun +1’ has long become an Ibiza household name, with +1 editions now taking place all over the world – be it Berlin, New York or Tulum.
Marco Carola’s name is equally synonymous with the sounds of Ibiza. As one of the most respected artists in electronic music, Carola was key in the development of the electronic scene in the early 90s as he took the thriving Italian techno scene international. Almost 30 years later, he remains one of the most loved artists in the industry with his unique three-deck style of mixing that makes him a favourite among fans from Ibiza to New York, South America and beyond.
The night isn’t stopping there. Solomun and Carola will be joined by Brooklyn-based duo Bedouin formed by Rami Abousabe and Tamer Malki. The duo are regulars at Pacha, hosting a Wednesday residency – Saga – throughout the season, bringing fans melodies and rhythms that stem from their Middle Eastern heritage and Western upbringing.
Pacha Ibiza will be celebrating their 50th anniversary throughout the summer season, with several parties a week from 23rd of May to the 3rd of October. For more information on upcoming events and to purchase tickets please visit Pacha‘s official website.

DJ, producer, kind soul and the enigma that is Claptone unveils ‘Flashdance’, the follow-up to ‘Euphoria’ and second single on his new label Golden Recordings, out on June 2nd.
‘Flashdance’ is another banger from the club-focused Golden Recordings label, as Claptone layers hair-raising synth stabs over an anthemic house beat. A collaboration with New York icon Man Parrish, the track is a ready-made crowd pleaser, replete with intricate percussion, long snare build ups and huge bass-heavy drops.
“I’ve always been in love with early 80s HipHop and Electro, a time when HipHop wasn’t just Rap Music but was not thinkable without Breakdance and Graffiti. These different outlets of expression brought musicians, dancers and artists together and felt much more colorful and open than some years later when MTV discovered Rap Music in which rappers constantly displayed their machismo”, says Claptone.
“Also musically that era was quite spectacular with DJs extending breaks from soul and disco records on one hand and crews producing their own music on cheap electronic equipment on the other. I fell in love with both but even more so with early electro based on Kraftwerk but with a danceable twist.
One of the heroes of that music is undoubtedly Man Parrish who produced a string of amazing tracks like ‘Hip Hop, Be Bop’, ‘Male Stripper‘ and of course ‘Man Made‘ amongst others. I’m beyond thrilled about my new single ‘Flashdance‘, which sound-beams ‘Boogie Down Bronx‘ straight to 2023. Working with Man Parrish is nothing less than a dream come true. Music would surely not be the same without him.”
Claptone – Flashdance
Proclaimed as the “Godfather Of Electronic Music” by the New York Times, Man Parrish is a founding force behind EDM and a legend of the New York scene. He has sold over five million records worldwide, plus an additional 80 million through the distribution and sales of the hugely popular Grand Theft Auto video games that contain his music.
Claptone has dropped 3 artist albums ‘Charmer’ (2015), ‘Fantast’ (2019) and ‘Closer’ (2022) over the past 8 years including singles like ‘No Eyes’, ‘Heartbeat’, ‘Under The Moon’, ‘Queen of Ice’ and ‘Just A Ghost’.
Well known for his remix work, including his reimagining of Gregory Porter’s ‘Liquid Spirit’, his uplifting and vocal-heavy style of house has gone on to rack up millions of plays on YouTube, with his Spotify currently enjoying over four million monthly listeners. More recently he has remixed tracks from superstars Elton John, Dua Lipa, Gorillaz, Mark Ronson, Depeche Mode, Ava Max, Rufus du Sol,Pet Shop Boys, MichaelKiwanuka, Rag’n’Bone Man,New Order and more.
The Venetian mask-donning producer also launched the immersive and otherworldly ‘The Masquerade’ events in 2017, with guests including Fatboy Slim, MK, Purple Disco Machine,James Hype, Vintage Culture, Armand Van Helden, John Summit, Meduza, Faithless, Nora En Pure and Pete Tong joining the fun across showcases in Australia, South America, North America, London, Paris, Amsterdam and multiple seasons at Pacha Ibiza – the latest of which has just kicked off for the summer.
Now with his own recently launched record label, Golden Recordings, Claptone is increasing his stratospheric reach of influence. With Man Parrish as his latest iconic collaborator, ‘Flashdance’ is set to become one of the biggest club anthems of the summer.

Following the April release of her globally adored single Radiocarbon on her own Kuukou Records, one of the European Techno circuit’s most promising talents, Simina Grigoriu, makes her welcome return to OFF Recordings with her brand-new record Actuary.

Presenting as a stripped-back, hypnotic techno cut, Simina employs clean, minimal percussive elements to create a mesmeric foundation through which she builds this enveloping production.
