Ibiza Global Radio Goes Global With New International Expansion Plans

Ibiza Global Radio announces its enormous plans to go global in 2022. Recognised as one of Ibiza’s most notorious radio stations, they now celebrate 18 years of showcasing underground electronic dance music from Ibiza to the world. Listeners and fans will be able to find Ibiza Global Radio in Dubai, Madrid and Italy with more destinations soon to be added.

This expansion into Dubai marks the first time a Spanish radio station expands to the UAE, this base will provide them a strategic hub in West Asia to engage a broader listenership as they become a major player in the global electronic industry.

During the pandemic the station continued to grow from strength to strength and rapidly expanded their online listenership to over 18 million per month and more than 2 million on FM. As the annual clubbing season kicks off on the island they return in 2022 with a meteoric run of international events and a myriad of activations scheduled throughout the Summer.

ARTBAT, Shall Ocin and braev team up on the incredibly emotive new single ‘Origin’

ARTBAT’s growing UPPERGROUND imprint reaches its fifth release, this time with the Ukrainian duo collaborating with renowned Argentinean artist Shall Ocin, and the Italian-Canadian multi instrumentalist and vocalist braev, together all combining to create the incredibly emotive new single ‘Origin’.

It’s been nearly a year since the launch of ARTBAT‘s UPPERGROUND imprint and the previous four releases have been very well received throughout the scene, and the label has just recently hosted its second UPPERGROUND event, this time at Sonar, where Shall Ocin performed alongside ARTBAT at the sell out event in Barcelona, having previously hosted the first event at New Year in Zamna at Tulum where braev performed alongside ARTBAT.

Between them, they have all created a dramatic track, full of emotion with hypnotic atmospherics drifting through the track and a rolling energy emanating from the bass line.

braev‘s poignant vocals give this an emotionally charged feel, that will conjure up thoughts about love, personal direction and the meaning of life, and when the breakdown hits the powerfully evocative lyrics, based around the introspective hook of ‘Where Do We Belong’ combine with the thought provoking piano, and the climatic synths creating a record that is both touching and powerful at the same time and will have fans closing their eyes and savouring the moment.

Up and away it goes with the current single “Volare” by super-talented DJ and producer, Thomas Lizzara in the direction of melodic techno and progressive.

Once again, the Berlin live act, who is currently featuring on the cover of the Faze Magazine, manages to capture his typical signature sound, combining powerful synthesizers, soulful melodic build-ups and a driving groove.

Paul Van Dyk unveils his brand new track ‘But Not Tonight’ ft Christian Burns

Whilst there’s a synonymity between Paul van Dyk’s music and the genre trance, his sound has always been a diverse palette of sonics flowing through elements of progressive and deep melodic driven arcs. His latest single, ‘But Not Tonight’, in collaboration with English singer-songwriter Christian Burns, is a palpable illustration of this.

The original song is about solitude away from the crowds. It is a creation of Depeche Mode‘s genius and revered by many fans as perhaps their best B-side, a sentiment Paul, as both a fan of the band and artist himself, has long shared. Opening with a warm synth pattern that imbues the single’s soundscape, Christian Burns’ voice takes hold of the suspenseful track and is in tandem with the first phase of the song’s groove.

The break on ‘But Not Tonight‘ is a space filled with an incredible piano pattern that offers a broody texture to the deep, bass-baritone vocal part from Christian Burns‘ in this section. Before the track evolves into a racing climatic ending, demonstrating further why Paul van Dyk remains a cornerstone outfit in the world of electronic music. ‘But Not Tonight‘ is not the first time Paul van Dyk has visited a Depeche Mode record, having previously remixed the UK band’s popular hit single ‘Martyr‘.

“Hearing Martin Gore’s stripped-down version of the song during the bands iconic Berlin Live show, as part of their Delta Machine Tour, just knocked me off my feet”, says van Dyk talking about the song.

“This version of song lingered me with long afterward that stunning concert. There’s a deep, dark, and gripping verve about the song’s timbre and particularly the lyrics that drew me towards needing to do a version of the song that would work for my sets. Christian and I know each other well and I felt with his vocal range he could perfectly phonate the lyrics for what this new version needed.”

Paul van Dyk has helped establish the foundations of electronic music and persists in pushing its boundaries. Currently working on his 11th studio album, the renowned musical innovator continues to be more excited by electronic music and the scene than ever. Claude VonStroke makes his debut on Cocoon Recordings with ‘Moody Fuse’, out now as part of ‘Cocoon Compilation T’.

‘Moody Fuse‘ marks Claude VonStroke‘s rare departure from Dirtybird Records and first solo release of 2022. VonStroke brings his own unique swagger with his trademark shuffling beats and freaky, hypnotic bleeps scuffling for dominance on ‘Moody Fuse‘.

“I have always wanted to be on Cocoon ever since I woke up on the side of the road one morning in Ibiza and went on an incredible three-day trek (bender) ending up in the booth with Richie Hawtin and Sven Vath at the legendary Cocoon Ibiza,” says Claude VonStroke about the track.

Claude VonStroke‘s 2022 is all about doing things differently. After 15 years of Dirtybird and six albums, the Dirtybird founder and label head has returned to his roots and the small, off-kilter, dark, dirty dance floors that shaped him on the ‘Your Dad Plays Great Music‘ Tour.

Sonus Festival reveals the day-by-day breakdown of its carefully curated and world class lineup

Sonus is Croatia’s most revered underground festival and today it reveals the day-by-day breakdown of its carefully curated and world class programme. All boat party tickets sold out within just 90 minutes. Now only the last few festival tickets remain in the lead up to the much anticipated event from 21st to 25th of August on the gorgeous Pag Island. 

Sonus Festival is known around the world for mixing fan favourites with underground prodigies across five days of partying under open skies and next to the clear blue waters of the Adriatic Sea. It plays out in four majestic clubs, all with cutting edge light and sound, sun kissed dance floors and plenty of pools and palm trees.

This year’s famous boat parties are all sold out, but the opening party will feature sets from Marko Nastic, Innellea, and KAS:ST at Noa Club on Saturday August 20th. After that, the festival gets underway in fine style on Sunday 21st across four of DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs – Aquarius, Kalypso, Papaya and Noa – with the likes of Trikk, KiNK live, Stephan Bodzin live, Dixon, Rødhåd, Chris Liebing, Boris Brejcha, Petar Dundov live, Monika Kruse, Carl Cox and Chris Liebing amongst those playing.

Afterlife bosses Tale of Us present ‘Unity Pt. 3’, a 39-track compilation

Tale of Us’ world renowned record label Afterlife Recordings has finally unveiled the long-anticipated various artists compilation entitled ‘Unity Pt. 3’, just for your listening pleasure!

The release features thirty-nine powerful tracks by a wide range of artists like Agents of Time, ANNA, Colyn, Innellea, Kevin de Vries, Massano signed to Afterlife, as well as two Ukrainian acts; 8Kays, who signed her first track to the label, and longtime affiliates Woo York.

From hard-hitting techno to cinematic and melodic themes, ‘Unity Pt. 3’ is once again a hypnotic and mesmeric journey through the Realm of Consciousness.

Proceeds from the release will go to two concerns close to the label’s heart. UNICEF Ukraine, which is working to reach vulnerable children and families with essential services – including health, education, protection, water and sanitation – as well as life-saving supplies in Ukraine.

Donations are also going to Planned Parenthood, the nonprofit organization that provides sexual health care in the United States and globally, who continue to do everything they can to protect the fundamental right for people to decide over their own bodies – in what are some of the toughest times to health care delivery.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Alok, headliners of UNTOLD, have their characters in Garena Free Fire, and fans from Europe can win passes to one of the world’s biggest festivals in a hold in-game event. The UNTOLD Festival signs a special partnership with Garena Free Fire and becomes the first music festival in Romania to hold an in-game event.

Garena Free Fire fans from all over Europe can win merchandise gifts and even General Access tickets within the in-game event that will last ten days, from July 23 to August 4.

The idea of a partnership between UNTOLD and Garena Free Fire was triggered by the fact that the video gaming world and UNTOLD universe both find inspiration for their stories in the world of fantasy. And most of the time, music festival fans are also passionate about gaming. Moreover, some of the most regarded artists’ headliners of the UNTOLD Festival this year have strong partnerships with Garena Free Fire.

Alok, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have their own characters within the game, and last year, they all celebrated their long-lasting partnership with a special song, “Reunion“. Alok is also very active in his gaming community and sometimes does live streams in which he plays together with his fans.

During the 10-days in-game event, which will take place between the 23rd of July and the 4th of August, Garena Free Fire fans connected to European servers will be able to win merchandise products and one of the 500 General Access passes for UNTOLD Festival. The 7th edition of the magical music festival from Transylvania, Romania, will take place on August 4-7.

The users from the in-game event UNTOLD x Garena Free Fire will also be rewarded with character costumes and collectible items within the game. The mobile game design will integrate UNTOLD banners throughout during the event.
