Jamie Jones remixes SeeMeNot’s smash single ‘Borderline’

The debut single from acclaimed Jamaican-Canadian artist SeeMeNot, ‘Borderline’ was released at the end of 2020 on the burgeoning artist’s own imprint Brainstream Music.

Championed by the likes of Solomun, TSHA, Skream, and many more, SeeMeNot’s hypnotic vocal and innate lyricism quickly established her as a serious rising star, securing Pete Tong’s coveted Essential New Tune and tipped a one-to-watch by both DJ Mag and Beatportal.

Now picked up by Defected Records, ‘Borderline’ is given a new set of remixes to continue the record’s club journey.

The first of these comes from renowned DJ, producer, and label head Jamie Jones, flipping the percussive original into an Ibiza-ready heater, complete with luminescent synth stabs, a slapped bassline, and just a touch of late-night menace.

This NFT project has something for everyone and with it comes some incredible real world assets.

This NFT music experience comprises 5 NFT drops from August 9th to September 13th. The kick-off begins on 9th August with a pre-launch “Secret Rare NFT” available for only 48 hours for those that pre-register to ArtAtak.i0.

These FanCards feature Boris Brejcha in-concert or in his personal life, and are made with motion sequence parallax effects.

There are two tiers you can choose from — 3,000 Gold Editions and 3,500 Silver Editions, each with different utility perks. Boris and ArtAtak wanted to create an NFT collection that engages and deepens the connection with his fans by offering unique “real world items” and exclusive access to his community.

Devoted to his true fans, each FanCard embeds a Boris sound snippet and buyers will unlock a special “NFT EDIT” of one of the most iconic Boris tracks “DEVIL“. This “Earn to Fan privilege” will also unlock other perks and gives NFT collectors dibs on the next exclusive drops.

Launching the 4th series in the collection on August 30th is the highly anticipated “Boris Brejcha x Blaken“, a watch collaboration with Blaken*, a world leader in customization of watches.

This is a series of “Ultra Rare Timekeepers” specifically designed for this NFT drop. There will only be 30 watches available for sale and will include a custom Black Case, a watch ‘Certificate of Authenticity’, custom NFT digital display, rare music content, and a Lifetime Concert Pass. This collaboration is creating a new way to experience uniquely designed luxury watches and fan engagement.

The fourth and final NFT in the 5-part series is one of the most sought after items in the Boris Brejcha treasure chest. This “Legend Rare Edition NFT” centres around Boris’ iconic joker mask titled “The Meta Mask”. Launching the 6th of September as an NFT, this will go to the highest bidder. The Mask is hand designed by Boris himself and was used in concert at one of his favorite sets. You’ll also get the digital copy plus several perks, including an exclusive day in the studio with the revered musician.

The eye-catching NFT 3D animation has been innovatively realised by ArtAtak in collaboration with Arno Creignou, a renowned specialist of motion design, mapping interactive, and 3D design. The NFT, which also comes with an original Brejcha track and a lifetime worldwide concert pass, will be auctioned off via the ArtAtak launchpad for an estimated sale price of $10,000.

Dennis Cartier drops his new powerful track ‘Make It Alone’

One of Belgium’s biggest movers and shakers in recent years has been Dennis Cartier, a favourite of Fedde Le Grand and a hot ticket on the world stage.

Make It Alone’ is perky, uplifting vocal house skipping on a wave of adrenaline, leading listeners across a dancefloor quest and bringing to mind Inna turning up the heat.

As he circles around horns as luxurious as his name, Cartier’s keys and synths connect with petite, open-hearted lyrics to provide a certain feeling of innocence when madness is all around.

Tender but tough: Australia’s Tydi asks ‘I Thought I Was Enough’

Australian award-winning ace Tyson Illingworth brings his chart-topping, Global Soundsystem game to meet Be Yourself benchmarks with pop-ready firepower. After Caitlin Allan sets the ball rolling with sensitive, high-reaching vocals doubling as a diary confessional, TyDi rocks foundations with a fierce electro-bass roller, giving this collaboration a spiky edge over its competition.

TyDi’s considerable discography is matched by his achievements both academic (as a graduate of Queensland’s high-status Conservatorium of Music) and sonic (#1 dance chart spots across the globe, column inches in the LA Times and as one of DJ Magazine’s top 100 DJs).

As a main attraction at festivals all over the world, Illingworth nails the complete package category by showing the benefit of branching out and never standing still, composing for a broad range of high profile brands including Disney, Stella Artois and Swarovski.

I Thought I Was Enough’ is all about timing, easygoing melodies leaning on acoustic guitars and strings and naturally knowing how to reach out emotionally with Allan at her peak. Then TyDi lets the bulging bass notes go, making this highly charged house music in more ways than one. You’ve guessed it, just one listen will never be enough.

Vicious are celebrating a massive 30 years in the music industry

The label that kickstarted the careers of a legion of profile players including Avicii, Madison Avenue, Peking Duk and Dirty South, are celebrating a massive 30 years in the music industry. Their success carries forward an enviable list of today’s leading producers and top players.

To celebrate this powerhouse label, Vicious will be releasing a collection of singles and remixes and a full compilation sharing its immense history with a modern twist. Their previous catalogue which includes Avicii, Madison Avenue, Dirty South, Cabin Crew and MrTimothy, has been remixed by leading dance names that include: Don Diablo, Mark Knight, Joshwa, PAX, Spencer Parker, Hotmood, PAX, Sgt Slick, Super Disco Club, Soul Central, KPD, Cassim and The Cube Guys. Accompanied by a documentary, Australian tour and pop up European events, Vicious 30 is fast gearing up to show the world their direct impact upon club music culture, flexing their impressive history and ability to make the world dance.

Founded in 1992 by Australian electronic music icons Andy Van (Madison Avenue / Super Disco Club) and John Course (along with friend Colin Daniels), Andy and John remain at the helm of a fiercely independent label with a massive global impact.

Recognised as Australia’s leading independent label, they have been responsible for over 800+ releases including numerous UK and Australian #1s, ARIA awards and supported by millions of streams. You’ll find a trail of well-respected industry names throughout their enviable catalogue, some of their highlights include:

  • Discovered and developed by Andy Van, the late Avicii released his first ten singles with the label, including his first Beatport #1 ‘My Feelings for You’ (made with Sebastien Drums)
  • Legendary DJ Carl Cox teamed up with Mark James (ex-Future Entertainment head honcho) and John Course to create Vicious’ third release ‘Eternal’
  • Ground Level’s ‘Dreams of Heaven’ became the label’s very first internationally charting release and spearheaded a string of notable positions
  • Two-time Grammy and ARIA nominated producer Dirty South landed his first releases on Vicious
  • Hitmakers Madison Avenue first achieved their global success with the ‘Polyester Embassy’ album and celebrated their worldwide hits ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ (UK pop chart number 1 + ARIA Single and Best Dance Release winner)
  • The Australian phenomenon Peking Duk achieved 3 platinum selling singles on the Vicious imprint and sister brand ‘Be Rich Records’ winning ARIA Dance release of the year

“We began Vicious out of pure passion for music and where it is now is beyond what we could ever have imagined. We have delivered chart topping songs and grown some of the world’s best talent from Avicii, to Madison Avenue and also released quality underground music along the journey, including early works from Carl Cox and Ground Level. Much of this occurred during a time when people didn’t know what to think about electronic music and that’s something we are very proud of.”John Course

“When we first started in 1992, electronic music was just beginning in the states and in the UK, we were without the internet back then, but despite being thousands of miles away we carved a unique sound that was born in Australia and then hit the rest of the world.”Andy Van

Vicious and their collection of inhouse labels have proven to be a consistent source of breaking talent since its inception in 1992. Early vinyl releases were signed to highly influential imprints including: Warp Records and Faze 2 Records in the UK, Sonic Records in the USA (at the time home to an emerging artist called Moby). Their recent pop dance label Extrovert Music launched last year and released drag queen duo the Jawbreakers debut EP. Igniting widespread praise and featuring on massive festival line-ups again, the Vicious signings prove their ability to navigate multiple markets.

For a label with such an impressive history and contribution to the scene, we see this as only the beginning so stay closely tuned.
