Satori announces Club Chinois residency ‘A Starry Night’

From July 7th to October 6th Satori brings his latest genre-defying performance ‘A Starry Night’ to Ibiza’s newest hotspot Club Chinois. Housed in the former location of the iconic club HEART, Chinois promises to deliver its audience old-world hospitality whilst immersed in world-class contemporary entertainment. Satori will perform his eclectic sets every Thursday night.

Satori is no stranger to the new club. In 2019 he performed there on a weekly basis when he had a residency at club HEART. The 3000-sqm venue had a full overhaul and in the years since his previous residency there, Satori has evolved further as an artist as well. More than ever he has perfected his trademark fusion of live instruments and electronic beats, creating musical magic on the spot as he goes along.

A Starry Night’ will be immersive and intimate, taking visitors deep into Satori’s world of art and fine music, in which he organically transcends genres, space and time. This will make each ‘A Starry Night’ performance at Club Chinois a unique experience for both the audience and the performer.

Satori A Starry Night

“For me it is important that the audience is not just a spectator of a musical journey. I want them to be my travel companion. Each night I will present an in-depth set with improvisations on live instruments and beats that appear on the spot. By vibing off each other, the journey will be unpredictable for everyone and this way I can really forge a relationship with the audience through music,” says Satori.

Part of the experience will revolve around tracks from Satori’s latest album ‘DreaminColours’. The album was released in April and was recorded live at Sonic Vista Studios in Ibiza. Satori’s ‘A Starry Night’ residency will run from July 7th until October 6th, 2022.

Behind The Beats, Armada Music’s podcast series on all things music industry, has enjoyed a rather eventful first season. Packed with worthwhile stories and interesting anecdotes from guests such as Armada Music CEO Maykel Piron, Disciples founder Duvall and Sirius XM’s dance radio host Geronimo, the series became the go-to podcast hotspot for everyone who wanted to discover the inner workings of all sorts of things in dance music land. Its popularity sure hasn’t gone unnoticed, and that made today’s launch of season two a no-brainer.

Ranging from music label executives to singer-songwriters to DJs, producers and even sample pack creators, the speakers provide answers to a flurry of questions, such as why they ventured into the world of music, what their place in the music industry is and how they managed to gain their share of success.

San Pacho Brings Together The World of Mariachi With House In ‘Trompeta’

San Pacho is on a release streak like never before in 2022, recent singles like “Pride,” (signed to Deadmau5’s Hau5trap) and “Amor,” (signed to Matroda’s Terminal Underground) showcasing the angle he’s decided to approach music and the sonic evolution he’s embarking on at his current state.

Now, “Trompeta,” is the next addition he is sharing with the masses, continuing the theme of latin incorporations mixed in alongside club-fitting house music.

In this release, mariachi horns englantly pronounce the core melody of the song while thick basslines and crisp percussion provide supporting rhythm and pace to give order to the experience.

Although not immediately apparent to all, the merging of global cultural components through house and latin cultural elements through mariachi will give a vastly wider appeal to many millions around the world. This clever blend presents a common ground for folks of many walks of life to let their guard down, relax, and come together.

Having recently signed to the prestigious The Bullitt Agency for bookings, an escalation of momentum continues to surround San Pacho.

Mark Knight Remixes Avicii & Sebastien Drums Anthem ‘My Feelings For You’

Mark Knight
http://stuarttracte.photography

A unique pairing of Mark Knight remixing Avicii & Sebastien Drums is due 15th July on Australia’s leading electronic label Vicious Recordings. This was originally Avicii’s first #1 on Beatport and is already hallmarked as an essential summer anthem with Mark Knight’s latest interpretation. The hit song was Tim Bergling’s biggest release with Vicious alongside another 10 singles that were signed to the label who first discovered the talented producer.

This release forms the third release in the massive ‘30 Years of Vicious’ celebrations, as the independent label showcases their biggest hits and global chart toppers, reworked for 2022 by a stream of top producers including Mark Knight, Joshwa, The Cube Guys, Sgt Slick, PAX, CASSIMM, Super Disco Club, Mighty Mouse, Needs No Sleep, KPD, Soul Central, Hotmood and more.

Vicious Recordings 30th anniversary was kickstarted by Don Diablo’s remix of the same song, ‘My Feelings For You’ with all profits donated to the Tim Bergling foundation in honour of his friend and inspiration. It achieved #1 on Beatports Mainstage Chart and accrued over 1 million streams in its first week of release. Now hitting 5.2+ Million streams across all platforms it opens the floor to Mark Knight’s latest remix to further ignite clubland.

This ongoing success of this song, further proves the legacy and impact that Avicii holds in today’s industry. With this iconic song engaging a new audience, Mark Knight further adds his own footprint with great effect.

Mark’s signature house music sound has remained a staple of Beatport and Traxsource charts since they first started, not to mention on vinyl before the digital era of music began. Recognised as one of the world’s most well known DJs and producers, here Mark adds his own unique flavour to the almighty Avicii & Sebastien Drums hit. The Toolroom Records head honcho proves why he is considered one of the most sought after producers and remixers at present.

A powerful and funk fuelled house vibe is the recipe throughout this mix. Complete with original hooks blended seamlessly with Mark’s own trademark groove, he fluently punctuates the theme. The full vocal (attributed to the Gwen McCrae classic) teases with an energy that will lift any crowd. Adding a well timed Pete Tong sample that pays homage to Avicii’s long standing legacy Mark adds a sustained emotion to the track. Mark’s pivotal remix works on a myriad of levels and is already gaining favour with the world’s top DJ’s.

Here’s what Mark Knight had to say about the remix:

“It’s a big deal getting to remix Avicii. He’s without doubt one of the most talented producers we’ve ever seen – a modern day genius who was taken from us far too soon. I wanted to keep my remix sympathetic to the original while also putting my own stamp on it, so I took it back a little closer to the vibe of the Gwen McCrae source material – loosening things up a little and giving it a bit more of a disco flavour. I was honoured to be asked and I hope people connect with the results.”

This incredible new version is destined to fire up dancefloors across the world and respectfully give justice to the original club anthem that was created by one of the worlds most prominent electronic music superstars. Vicious Recordings are scheduled to announce a remix competition at the end of the season that will further highlight the importance of Avicii as an artist, in conjunction with the Tim Bergling Foundation to help mentor and nurture new talent with a sustained approach to personal wellbeing and positive label support.

My Feelings For You” by Avicii & Sebastien Drums (Mark Knight Remix) is set for release this July 15th on Vicious.

Exclusive Interview with Romanian DJ and Producer Mahony

Our team got the opportunity to sit down for a very special interview with the extremely talented Maracine Razvan, a.k.a the Romanian DJ and producer Mahony.

Despite all his success, Mahony remains a down-to-earth guy. He was really polite and happy to answer all of our questions and we wish him the best for the rest of the year.

Check out the full interview below.

Hello, Mahony! It’s a pleasure to have you here with us! How are you? What have you been doing lately?

I’m doing great; it is a pleasure to be here!

I’m so happy we’re back to normality after these pandemic years. It’s a crowded period; I just returned from a tour. It was an amazing start of the season, with gigs all over the world. I am grateful for the tour I had in South America, 25 days, 11 gigs, and a lot of beautiful people. Barcelona followed, where I had a surprise from Luciano. He invited me for a back-to-back gig, and the atmosphere was crazy! The next stop is Ibiza, and we hope this summer will continue in the same line.

You have been part of the Romanian gang of DJs for such a long time. You have developed a passion for electronic music since high school. We are in 2022, and you are still on the stage. When did you know you were going to make DJing a career?

I really didn’t stop, and I won’t stop! For me, the passion for music is fuel for life!
I knew I would make a career in DJing in 2006 when I first stepped into my favorite venue, “Kristal Club” in Bucharest, Romania; at that time, James Zabiela was invited. I still remember that the meeting with James fascinated me. I understood why music followed me everywhere, and I realized that no matter how hard it was, the sound would always be there, guiding me.

As a DJ, you were part of what the beginning of club culture in Romania meant; You started your career as a resident in Kudos, then you were a resident of a legendary club, Kristal. You have been invited to the big techno events from Off Sonar to BPM. What is it like to be a DJ in Romania? Was there a time when you wanted to give up?

It’s beautiful; I’m honored to be among the first DJs to open the borders for what the international gig market meant. At the same time, I congratulate my colleagues; together, we put Romania on the electronic music map, which mattered a lot for a region in Eastern Europe that did not have so much openness before. DJ life is full of ups and downs, but I never thought about giving up; it would mean denying all my work, passion, and devotion to this profession.

You seem to be a fan of a fusion of musical genres, but what is your favorite style?

My approach is eclectic; I don’t have a specific style. I like mixing different musical types from tech to house, minimal to electronic. Imagination is important! I like to make my edits with the hip-hop inclusion; I’m a big fan of hip-hop. Not many people know that I was a break dancer as a child, and I approached the hip-hop area. I also support the young generation, I go from retro to future and so on; I also appreciate the young and talented producers, and I believe that success comes from adaptation and perseverance, not from a certain style.

What makes the electronic music stage to be so special and unique?

DJs generally feed on the energy that the crowd share. Without an audience, you have no one to perform for, and without the vibe of this niche of listeners, we would not be so motivated to do better. I am always grateful to my fans because I would have never reached so far without their support.

If you could change something in this industry, what would you change?

The mentality! I have been merging with the international market for several years now, and I can admit that I have received a lot of support and tons of encouragement. The biggest surprise was when I realized that all my international colleagues support and help each other, and they can’t wait to start a collab. In our country, competition is seen and treated as something destructive. At the beginning of the year, I opened my label, “Take Notes,” created for young DJs at the beginning of their careers. Everything I saw, heard and wrote down helped me a lot. Now it’s my turn to pass on the lessons learned.

After 2 years of the pandemic, a long time when the event industry was on hold, the world is now open to events. What are your plans for this summer?

I can say that people are having more fun since returning from the pandemic. We have many plans, the calendar is full, and I can only be happy. I leave for Ibiza in the next period; I return to Neversea Festival in Constanta, Romania, the biggest beach festival in Europe. Then we have another stop in Ibiza, followed by Croatia, Turkey, Dubai, Greece, Corfu, Music on Paris, UNTOLD, Sunwaves, and many other departures around the world.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see Mahony performing live at the majestic Neversea festival in Constanta, Romania this weekend, because it will be one for the books!
