Gian Varela & Steve Andreas Team Up On Hybrid Spanish Single ‘Veneno’ Featuring Felicia

International sensation and Latin American leader in dance music, Gian Varela, has teamed up with Spinnin’ Records signed artist Steve Andreas to unleash wide-appealing electronic release “Veneno.” The work clashes multiple cultures together at once without generating any friction.

Veneno,” is smooth and fluid, the arrangement, writing, and production all harmonically aligning to render a feel that’s cohesive and digestible. “Veneno,” is designed to be a fierce attention-grabber from the east to the west, blending together a popular electronic sonic framework with a heavy-dose of Latin pop and guaracha influences.

The single exposes an untapped middle ground between the spectrum of house and dance, being yet another factor that influences what will attract a large demographic audience to the sound. Alongside these components, Steve Andreas helps top it off with his vibrant ‘island’ aura injected within, an energy he’s a natural talent at providing.

Veneno,” not only meshes the best parts of Gian Varela and Steve Andreas, but also fuses an eclectic blend of the style he’s put out during the pandemic and the shift he’s evolved toward now that the worst of COVID restrictions is gone.

Gian Varela had always had a mission to bring humans together through the power of music. His “Salvajes,” fanbase gravitates to this vision and vibe that the solo DJ/producer is deeply connected with, Varela caring deeply for each and everyone one (often hanging out with his fans via his Discord or other social platforms.)

Gian Varela is virtually a music pioneer in Latin America, being one of the top electronic musicians to come out of the country. Some of the accomplishments he’s created form himself include being the first-ever artist to DJ at the Panama Canal, a landmark achievement for the Latin American region. Aside from being invited to release on Armada, Spinnin, Revealed, and Ultra Music, he has collaborative credits with A-list names like Morgan Page, Gareth Emery, Rave Republic, and Sak Noel.

At the core of his being, Gian Varela is a natural performer. A more modern example of this is his consistent success on TikTok, where some of his best content on this platform has been viral remixes that embrace a variety of pop-culture contexts.

Gian Varela is at the starting line of a new saga of songs, content, and events that will roll out in 2022, with “Veneno,” symbolizing the lockdown era being put to rest, while making the most out of his life’s mission: bringing joy to the global community through the power of music.

Medii Releases ‘Replica Red’ EP In Defining Series Leading To Anticipated May 19th Album

Medii is now in the midst of a defining season of releases. Made up of three parts, Binary Blue, Replica Red, and What If This Is All Real – the two EP’s and final LP brings listeners through an extensive, dynamic sonic adventure that arcs across several weeks. With Binary Blue EP having been released in February, Replica Red EP is up to bat in this saga, this chapter set to drop May 5th.

Kiss Goodbye (feat. Cat Cyenne),” instantly sucks the listener back into the happy-go-lucky synthpop world that Medii so beautifully creates. The vocal work of Cat Cyenne fits right into the warm and breezy beat that Medii has put together here. Like all their works, this lead track off the EP articulates sophisticated songwriting, a prioritized aspect for Medii and what they release. “Kiss Goodbye,” primes the mood and momentum in just the right frame to keep the mind settled for the rest of the ride.

For Life (feat. Sidney Blair),” maintains a similar melodic disposition while rendering a completely different musical angle. The timbre juxtaposed against the previous track acts as one of many plus with this one, an uplifting and hopeful aura being innately attached to what’s being experienced in real time. The groovy chorus drives the body to dance and tap along, digestible and exciting being a few of the positive traits happening with this song.

My Mind’s Escaping,” shakes the flow up a bit with more masculinity brought in on the vocal front. The single leans more on the wild and rambunctious side. Sharp drum work and epic moments bring forth a higher energy level that adds more narrative across the EP.

Circles (feat. Gemyni),” features yet another talented vocalist, setting up another unique tone to the vocal-driven Replica Red. Circles covers the smash-hit originally released by Post Malone. A merging of the instruments and sound designs found across this EP. “Circles,” merges a perfect balance between the styles of Post Malone and Medii.

Closing out the EP is “Precious Time (feat. Kiture).” Perhaps the most soulful out of all the collection of songs, the vibe ironically has a ‘end credits’ feel to it – containing both a reflective essence to it while maintaining a chipper emotional state.

What If This Is All Real will be the final chapter of Medii cohesive rollout, slated to be an awe-inspiring ending to a project they’ve put their all into.

Boasting over 30 million streams, having played many clubs/festivals, while maintaining an integral brand and signature sound easily recognized. Replica Red is one part of a bigger picture Medii brings to the table.

WhoMadeWho release details and title track for their new album UUUU

Danish electronic trio and internationally celebrated live act WhoMadeWho have been hinting at a new studio album ever since they dropped Mermaids back in May 2021. Following the global success of their subsequent two singles – Summer and Silence & Secrets – and a slew of remixes from the likes of DJ Tennis, Black Coffee, Adriatique and Frank Wiedemann, the in-demand Scandinavian outfit now confirm details of their upcoming long player, UUUU.

Set for worldwide release on Friday, May 27, via long standing German record label Embassy One, UUUU is the seventh full-length studio album from WhoMadeWho, who have been making and releasing music together since they formed back in 2003.

A beautifully crafted record featuring thirteen original productions, UUUU will be available to stream and purchase worldwide from all major DSPs on May 27, and will also be available to purchase on vinyl as a limited run, four-disc package. Pre-order and pre-save options for the album are available here.

To mark the announcement, WhoMadeWho today release the fourth single to be taken from the upcoming album, as they drop the stunning title track, UUUU.

Cultivating a theme of self-expression and deep introspection across the release, the ethereal six-minute cut sees band members Tomas, Tomas and Jeppe team up with Berlin-based producer and Keinemusik co-founder Rampa to deliver a spellbinding sonic journey that ebbs and flows across its duration.

Toying with texture, timbre and rhythm, the collaborative work honours the raw emotional quality for which WhoMadeWho has become famed over the years, whilst also broaching the clubbier sonic palate that characterises Rampa’s widely lauded sound experiment.

Speaking about the title track and the upcoming album, WhoMadeWho commented:

UUUU was one of those songs that kept haunting us for over a year. We started a beat together with Rampa on a very warm day in Frank Wiedemann’s studio in Berlin. The initial beat only took an hour to make – we also created ‘Abu Simbel’ that same day. After that, we kept making changes and never got it right, we actually skipped it, but last minute we completely reworked all synths and we wrote completely new vocals together with Kat Frankie who also added some very nice female flavor to the song.

This kind of process is what makes producing music both beautiful and stressfull at the same time – you never know when you hit something significant. It might take 20 minutes or it might take a year.

In the years since their formation, WhoMadeWho have established themselves as one of the most important underground bands of their generation. The Danish group, consisting of Tomas Høffding, Tomas Barfod and Jeppe Kjellberg, has an exceptional sense of emotional depth, heartbreaking melodies and brilliant songwriting, boasting an expansive discography currently spanning a total of six albums and a plethora of EPs, singles and remixes released on labels such as Kompakt, Innervisions and Life & Death.

On the road, they are internationally renowned for their professionalism and outstanding live performances and have become regular fixtures at some of the world’s most notable musical festivals, including Roskilde, Sonar, Melt! and Burning Man to name just a few.
