Sir Ivan aka Peaceman releases his new 18-song album “LIFE,”

The eminent dance music recording artist and peace-centric philanthropist Sir Ivan aka Peaceman releases his new 18-song album “LIFE,” an aptly entitled full-length LP that unites the world through the messages of peace and tolerance, a cause that’s essential to what is going on in the world today, given the recent invasion of Ukraine.

Sir Ivan has remade iconic 60s and early 70s anti-war and peace songs into electronic dance music, as well as several original works inspired by the spirit of the 60s. For the past 20 plus years, Sir Ivan has donated all net proceeds of his music to charity, but this time feels it is more important to spread the power of the lyrics to everyone on the planet.

This is why he’s decided to release his latest album exclusively on Soundcloud for all to stream/ download FREE. Just as the lyrics in those 60s and 70s anti-war songs inspired the protests that contributed to ending the Vietnam war, Sir Ivan believes they can have the same positive effect today to stop the war in Ukraine and prove again to the world that “the pen is mightier than the sword.”

These songs can be used to rally the peace-loving people in Russia to continue their protests against their government’s behavior. As the son of a Holocaust survivor, Sir Ivan is committed to advocating against violence and hatred. His message is clear, “Everyone Downloads Free until Ukraine is Free!”

Some of the songs on the album include John Lennon‘s “Imagine,” remixed by Marc Stout, Barry McGuire‘s “Eve of Destruction,” remixed by Riddler, Bob Dylan‘s “Blowinin the Wind,” remixed by Smash Mode, ”Get Together,” by The Youngbloods, remixed by Chris Cox, “In the Year 2525” by Zager and Evans, remixed by Maurizio Ruggerio, and Sir Ivan‘s original renditions of “Kumbaya,” remixed by Christopher Lawrence, and “Hare Krishna,” remixed by Tony Moran & Warren Rigg.

Included on the album is a 60-minute non-stop mega-mix of all 18 songs. This mega-mix came from the COVID-19 charity competition that Sir Ivan created to alleviate the financial burdens of unemployed DJs during the height of the pandemic. Sir Ivan awarded more than $10,000 to the winners picked by judges Paul Oakenfold, Bassjackers, Exodus, DJs From Mars, and Tenishia.

LIFE’ is now available exclusively on Soundcloud and can be streamed or downloaded free until all Ukrainians are free from the Russian invasion of their country.

Jacob Colon introduces his latest banger ‘Take It’

Jacob Colon does it again, this time he introduces ‘Take It’, a fresh new hit released via his imprint ‘Made 2 Move’, this label has launched some of his top-quality and popular productions like ‘Flippin it’, ‘Late Nights’ and ‘What We About’ in the recent past.

After consecutive well acclaimed releases, like this month’s ‘Protagonista’, an Afro-House inspired track that brightens up any party, brought in by the label ‘Made in Miami’, and his success with his weekly radio show ‘Made to Move’ that has reached more than 30 global stations and has already surpassed more than 80 episodes, Jacob comes back with yet another banger.

This new track, ‘Take It’ features the same characteristic sound, flavor and vibe this artist has to offer. One of the song’s fundamental components are congas and acoustic percussion, these appear since the beginning of the track as support to a heavy classic house beat, various drops with filtered synths and layers of echoed sounds and voices, liven up the vibe, a wobbly bass line makes an appearance that added to dark bells chiming, help consolidate an obscure, mysterious yet energetic and refreshing vibe.

A brassy motif gets in the mix during hectic parts of the track, while a sustained pad maintains the underlying intensity throughout the song. There are some panned elements that make the whole listening experience even more immersive. This track definitely paves up the way for a much-needed fresh summer.

Jacob Colon never ceases to impress with high-quality and innovative music, always true to his essence and own style, uncompromising and always setting high standards, this artist surely keeps his name on the list of artist not-to-miss. Follow Jacob to keep track of his latest releases, new features on his weekly radio show and live performances. ‘Take It’ is available now in online stores and major streaming platforms.

Hyper has teamed up with Jack Trammell & Sam Matlock for a rework of Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit

{"origin":"gallery","uid":"DE77D83C-A674-4563-9E1B-6C1B9B2EB5F0_1630193098336","source":"other"}

Rising Electronic DJ and producer Hyper has teamed up with Wargasm’s Sam Matlock and legendary trailer music composer Jack Trammell have deconstructed and reworked Nirvana’s classic “Smells Like Teen Spirit”— the remix includes epic bass-infused energy that drives confidence and power to those who dare to experience it. But most importantly, Hyper and friends have crafted an authentic, heart-felt, and flat-out bombastic ode to Kurt Cobain’s iconic song.

The track, out now via Position Music, comes equipped with a hardcore glitched-out visualizer video that artistically nods to Nirvana’s cult classic music video and band imagery. Between the VFX-heavy filters of cheerleaders dancing with pom-poms, Hyper gleefully digging through grunge and punk-rock record crates, and a somber dedication scene at the famous Kurt Cobain bench in Seattle’s Viretta Park near the house where Cobain tragically passed away in. With single artwork that resembles Nirvana’s Incesticide album artwork it’s quite clear that remixing this track meant quite a lot to the talented trio Hyper, Matlock, and Trammell.

The UK native Hyper, currently based in Seattle, grew up religiously digging deep through the Pacific Northwest grunge and punk rock scene and recalls the impact Nirvana had on the scene around the world.

Nirvana is as punk as they come. I remember when Nirvana’s ‘Bleach’ came out and I devoured that record. Nirvana sent shockwaves through the punk and grunge community and unleashed a new energy that is, to this day, a constant muse for me and my fellow musicians. It was humbling to do this record, and Sam [Matlock], Jack [Trammell] and I wanted to make something fiercely original that still captured the essence and legacy of Nirvana.” – Hyper

Featured artist Sam Matlock, one half of British electronic nu metal and post-hardcore rock duo Wargasm, is the son of Glen Matlock—the esteemed bass guitarist of The Sex Pistols—who had a massive influence on Cobain and Nirvana.

Sam Matlock brings both an onslaught of guitar riffs and his rough and edgy timbre that kicks “Smells Like Teen Spirit” into the highest of gears. A close look of the visualizer video shows a montage of Sam Matlock playing as Wargasm to massive festival crowds and mosh-pitting club audiences alike, yet another subtle hint at Matlock’s devotion to bringing the same musical energy that Nirvana’s live shows would also emit to millions of music fans.

Jack Trammell has a history of building music for video games and film trailers and now brings in Hyper and Matlock to combine their talents on one epic single that brings about a futuristic sound to Trammel’s powerful drums and euphoric builds and drops that fans first heard on his own take on “Smells Like Teen Spirit” that was released on Position Music’s 2017 Compilation The Rekreation.

This was not done on a whim. ‘Teen Spirit’ meant everything to us. It really changed everything in punk and grunge. It is the track that caught the attention of the scene, both in the US and Europe. It reinvigorated an element of musical honesty that is so rare these days.

The song also means a lot to my hometown of Seattle as this is the same scene that Kurt broke with the Sub Pop record label in the late 80’s and early 90s, and so we wanted to give our rendition of it the proper attention it deserves. We did not overlook or ignore any element of the original track, yet we also put our own batshit crazy spin on it that I’m certain will be a smash on festival stages this summer and beyond.” – Hyper

Earlier this year, Hyper released “Post Punk” which featured two other legendary experimental electronic rock heavyweights in Iggy Pop and The Crystal Method. The single, out now on Ultra Records, was the first remix from Hyper this year, with “Smells Like Teen Spirit” being the second. Hyper has plans to release a third remix in 2022 to finish off what he calls the “Hyper Seattle Deconstruction Trilogy”.

Check out the full interview below!

What inspired you while producing your latest joints on the label You+One?

Love and life. We are pretty excited that everything seems to be getting closer to normal. We have this theory that once this pandemic is over (if they ever allow it to be over), the world will explode within itself and there will be parties with crazy levels of energy everywhere. All of the pent-up energy from the last 3 years will be unleashed.

What boosts your creativity in music?

So many things.. hope is big for us, always hoping and pushing to get to where we want to be. Gratitude is the other side of that coin, being grateful for what we have and living in the present. There is this weird place between the present and hoping for the future, we are trying to find a balance in between.

What challenges are you currently facing as an artist duo in the US ?

We are blessed to be where we are and have nothing but love and gratitude for the states.

What fascinates you most about the electronic music scene in your country?

Everything, there are electronic shows 7 nights a week across hundreds of genres, we are very spoiled.

And where do you get the energy for your high-quality output being remixed by acts like Super Flu, Rodriguez Jr and Einmusik?

Blessed, all of the artists that have remixed our tracks are at the top of the game. You have to understand, we are very huge fans of these remixers. We choose remixers based on who we would actually listen to and want to hear new music from. We are grateful that we can be a part of the process.

What’s going on with you guys in the coming weeks and months?

So much, we have four releases this year under You Plus One, the first one coming out in March, we have lots of big things planned for 2022

Listen to their latest release including the remixes below and enjoy!

Marco V Sets The Bar With New Vision 20/20

Legendary Dutch DJ and producer Marco V sets the bar with a brand new Vision 20/20 just for your listening pleasure!

The search for UFO activity finds Marco V, Orbital-style headset on blast, sending pounding beats into the wild and low-slung rhythms past the speed limit, with a top line of skittering, scurrying keys belonging to something tentacled, rhythmically digging into the track’s surface.

This ‘ALI/ENS‘ race is an intelligent one, The Netherlands superstar teasing a potentially climactic breakdown, but deciding that the best form of defence is attack: kick drums continue their onslaught, and his rhythms-as-drum-rolls fascinate and disorientate in equal measure. Dark and direct tech-house tactics that spell danger.

The release can already count on the support of: Gonzalo Bam, JES, Kasa Remixoff, Maarten De Jong, Daniel Skyver and Rinaly.
