MISS DRE reminds us why ‘House Music Is Forever’ with first single of 2022 ‘Somethin Special’

Processed with VSCO with a3 preset

“WE ARE HOUSE, BABY!” – fall in love with house music again and come together for “Something Special,” MISS DRE’s highly anticipated follow-up track on Farris Wheel Recordings, home to celebrated tastemaker Gene Farris and more. Her previous debut track on Farris Wheel, “Technocality”, has been her strongest number to date.

Something Special” is a chunky number with a bubbling bassline, dirty stabs, and those heady percs signature to all Farris Wheel signings. A little something special on the vox spices up the vibe behind its beat. When MISS DRE was asked about the track, “It was the vibe, the people, the music, the energy, and it was something special…it was an a-ha moment for me.”

House and techno purists alike can’t resist MISS DRE’s unrepenting love for dance music.

Witnessing people in a crowd who have left everything at the door, are dancing their asses off, are so in the moment, and are letting their bodies be carried by the DJ for an entire night…this is house music.”

She is seated firmly at the house music table in full embrace of its community: “From the friends we’ve made to the genuine smiles and laughs we’ve exchanged with strangers on the dance floor, to hearing that new club banger that becomes your anthem for the year. We are all family here and we are so lucky that we get to experience such a strong force together…WE ARE HOUSE BABY!

For those just first being introduced to MISS DRE, she stokes the fires that ignite the floors. After capping off last year supporting tech house heads such as Gene Farris, Justin Martin, Sacha Robotti, Bruno Furlan, Luke Andy, and more, MISS DRE is poised for an even bigger breakout year.

Well known to the Bay Area’s finest and those who come through its mecca of hot sweaty house, she’s slated to support J. Worra’s upcoming Check Out Tour in Austin, San Francisco, and the otherworldly dream world of Meow Wolf Santa Fe. Those lucky to dance with MISS DRE on tour this year in 2022 will catch her signature effortless swagger, more MISS DRE music, and more appearances with the Farris Wheel fam.

‘Your Smile’ gets bigger as Leandro da Silva remixes Lulleaux and Jay Mason

When Lulleaux joined with Jay Mason in 2021, the Be Yourself Music beauty ‘Your Smile’ had you walking on air with its rhythms jumpstarting your heart.

Leandro Da Silva decides it’s time to pump up the volume and get you grinning to something a little grittier. So those shiny happy people who swam in the glory of the original now find themselves in swampier, louder territory, thanks to Da Silva throwing generous sprawls of good-natured bass and friendly fire laser beams into the mix.

Lulleaux and Mason are in good hands: Leandro Da Silva has entered the conversation when DJ Mag list their world’s greatest spinners, and he’s become a staple on the 1001tracklists annual countdown of top producers. The globetrotting Da Silva, the man behind Black Lizard records giving the sets of Pete Tong, Martin Garrix and Bob Sinclar something extra, has remixed Oliver Heldens and Clean Bandit, and swept all before him on Spotify when taking charge of David Guetta & Sia’s ‘Flames’.

Lulleaux is in demand with a capital ID: Sam Feldt, Cimo Fränkel, Hero Baldwin, songfestival winner Duncan Laurence and more have helped raise his appearances on Be Yourself Music, Spinnin Records, Hexagon and Sony, with remixes for Tiësto and Benni Benassi. His crowning glory so far has been ‘Contact’, posting ridiculous numbers to get streaming statisticians scrambling.

The same can be said for Jay Mason: streamed 50 million times to date on Spotify, the reputation of the Netherlands vocalist has blown up big time from humble beginnings as a bedroom singer-songwriter. Fedde le Grand and Blasterjaxx are the kind of influential company Mason now keeps.

For a trio with an online buzz few can match, this new and boosted version of ‘Your Smile’ should add a few more zeros to the counter.

Shapov Drops 4-Track Future Rave EP: ‘New Dimensions’

It’s been nearly six months since Shapov dropped his three-track ‘Circles (EP)’ alongside longtime friend and collaborator NERAK, and he has since spent a lot of time developing and cultivating his unique trademark sound to prepare for the release of yet another mind-blowing body of work. And that moment has arrived in the early stages of 2022, as the Russian DJ and producer proudly flaunts his globally acclaimed Future Rave sound in the form of a new, four-track EP: ‘New Dimensions’.

Underlining Shapov‘s broad-range skill set as a music maker, ‘New Dimensions‘ bundles four of the Russian producer’s most noteworthy floor slammers. Comprising collabs with Sam Bagira (‘Resolution‘) and NERAK (‘Dark In The Light‘) as well as two solo offerings in the form of ‘Cornerstone‘ and ‘Inside The Rave‘, this EP instantly proves itself mainstage-ready whilst simultaneously pushing listeners into new dimensions indeed.

Sam Bagira, who worked with Shapov on ‘Resolution‘, says:

Shapov and I are both Russian producers, but our music differs a lot stylistically speaking. For us, that was an interesting starting point for a collaboration. The result of that team-up is ‘Resolution’, which sports a brand-new rave sound that combines our various skills and shared feelings in one track! We’d been developing this new sound in the studio for a while and we’re happy to finally share it with the world!

Famed for his richly distinct and unique progressive sound, Shapov (Alexander Shapovalov) continues to garner worldwide acclaim on account of his dynamic live sets and euphoric productions. Currently at the crest of the wave after the launch of his Future Rave producer pack and the recent series of high-profile collabs with premier artists such as Armin van Buuren, Nerak, Vini Vici and NERVO, the Russian DJ and producer is set to cement his status as one of dance music’s heavy hitters across 2022, starting with his upcoming ‘New Dimensions‘ EP on Armada Music.

Spinnin’ Records and Max Styler make “History” with Maggie Szabo

Pop Powerhouse Maggie Szabo and seasoned Spinnin’ Records electronic producer Max Styler team up for their powerful new single “History”, just for your listening pleasure!

This energetic and heart-pumping dance track is layered with nostalgic production with an ear towards the future highlighting Styler’s killer production instincts.

Maggie Szabo brings this song to life with her epic vocal range, and her natural ability to capture the spirit of the dance floor in her delivery. Together Szabo and Styler’s aesthetics pair perfectly, making “History” a true 2022 standout electronic dance music hit.

Here’s what Maggie Szabo had to say about her brand new collaboration with Max Styler

This song holds a lot of memories for me because it was written during my trip to Amsterdam, which is one of my favourite places to visit. I wrote it with a few friends just outside of the city, and we knew it was going to take the right producer to help us get it to the finish line. Max heard the song and knew exactly where to take it. I love his musical sensibility and I’m so glad the stars aligned for us to work together on this release!

Across this special festival, which is easily accessible by a train that stops right outside, Verve will welcome 10,000 people, offer more than 24 hours of music and more than 30 of the world’s most innovative techno DJs to play across two indoor stages. The first is a vast main room that will soak you in high end light and visuals, and the second is a slightly smaller space for more intimate but energetic sounds.

As well as the music, there will be a culinary world tour that will take you through the best tastes on the planet, while an outdoor area will be a stylish place to catch your breath and chill with a cocktail or two.

Providing the soundtrack will be Berghain mainstay, techno pioneer and unrelenting DJ talent Ben Klock. His big, concrete funk sound is famous the world over and perfect for this sort of festival. German Innellea has the ability to transcend genre with his emotive sets and futuristic sounds. Lilly Palmer brings her contemporary techno sounds after big tunes on the likes of Drumcode and Spannung Records have established her right at the vanguard.

On top this comes Dutch hero and Rejected label boss Joris Voorn, long time titan Oliver Huntemann, a special set from ØOSTIL b2b The Element, local Swiss stars Animal Trainer, stripped back and atmospheric techno from SHDW & OBSCURE SHAPE, plus more from techno talents Konstantin Sibold, Pig & Dan, Denis Horvat, Miss Monique, Cattarre, Doma, Gean, Kaleiko, Marco Capone, Pazkal and Vanita.

The festival comes from the Kopflos Agency, a respected, dynamic and dedicated events management agency based in Lucerne. The agency is very passionate about electronic music and has been at the heart of the local scene and now uses all its know-how to launch this much anticipated new event.

Founder of Verve Festival and Co-Founder of Kopflos Agency Omar A.Rahman says:

We have been facing many challenges while planning the festival and organizing all the little details due to the Pandemic. However, we believe it is the right time to announce our Verve Festival in Luzern. The whole industry is not tolerating the situation anymore, and we feel it is our duty to do something and back up the industry.

Fellow Verve Festival and Kopflos Agency founder Jan Boesch says:

“We have to organize something for the city in Luzern. The whole nightlife suffers enormously from the corona pandemic and less organizers are daring to do something about it” .

Verve is the largest festival in central Switzerland with an escapist techno atmosphere. Do not miss. Early bird tickets are now sold out but for now general sale tickets remain available. But act fast, because after the announcement of the artists of Phase II they will sell out the link.

Hot Prospect BURNR Asks The Dancefloor ‘Why Don’t You’

Right about now it’s time to make the ‘floor burn: Dutch one-to-watch BURNR sparks into life on Be Yourself Music with a multi-dimensional house cut beating away winter blues.

BURNR crosses the deep and funky with phat and zingy synth lines, ice cold trance builds, clashes of computerised and weak-at-the-knees vocals, and a motivation to keep everyone guessing as to his next move. It’s a tech house sound with lots going on, whose effectiveness is intensified when BURNR, either side of the sci-fi divide, methodically puts all these elements together.

BURNR is latest in line on The Netherlands’ non-stop conveyor belt of high energy DJs and producers, sure to strike it big after logging thousands of hours in bedroom practice and development. Inspired by the wildfire spread by Martin Garrix’s ‘Animals’ and the abundant sights and sounds of his homeland, BURNR set his style template by telling everyone to ‘Move’ on France’s Unity Group label. Precisely positioning heavy synths within arena-sized space, means funkiness naturally flows through.

With a name that writes its own headlines about bringing the heat, BURNR asks ‘Why Don’t You’ make the right decision and get this in your ears.

Carola

Brazilian dance music starlet Carola has cemented her reputation as one of Brazil’s hottest names, making an instant impact with her highly atmospheric house sound in a very male-dominated scene. Growing up lacking financial resources, the highly talented music producer taught herself from scratch to produce, mix and master her own music, eventually becoming the first female artist ever to release on Martin Garrix‘s STMPD RCRDS.

Since starting her journey, Carola has definitely been one to watch in Brazil’s electronic scene, accumulating over 12 million Spotify streams across her releases. The year of 2022 will see Carola continue her meteoric rise to stardom, ready to make her debut at Tomorrowland!

Jana Vitiligo

Female Belgian DJ Jana Vitiligo started out running her own agency in the nightlife industry. The experience that came with it and her never-ending pursuit to deliver memorable nights inevitably resulted in the idea to take full control of the night as a DJ under the name JANA.

Being insecure for years and keeping her auto-immune condition Vitiligo secret for the outside world, after much self-reflection the Belgian power woman decided to accept and embrace her imperfections and motivate others to do the same without feeling stigmatized – her alter ego Jana Vitiligo was born in 2021. Having played at some of the biggest nightclubs, parties and festivals in Belgium, Jana Vitiligo is now ready to make her Tomorrowland debut in 2022!

Mandidextrous

Dance music pioneer Mandidextrous has been in the game for over 10 years, renowned for their energetic techno & drum and bass sounds. Openly identifying as non-binary transgender, this DJ, producer and label boss started their own record label Amen4Tekno and made it as a transgender underground artist in a predominantly cis-male dominated scene.

Striving to change attitudes and expanding minds about transphobia, Mandidextrous abolishes the notion of gender, letting their music break boundaries and conquer the dancefloor. Being a regular venue filler at many clubs and festivals in the UK, Mandidextrous is ready to make their debut at Tomorrowland in 2022!

Moore Kismet

Southern California raised DJ and producer Moore Kismet first appeared in the bass music scene at just 15 years old, quickly progressing from an artist to watch to an industry staple. The young bass music prodigy is known for their unique and ever-evolving music, often inspired by the artist’s experiences with love, mental health and personal growth.

Being an openly pansexual and non-binary artist and an influential voice of the LGBTQ+ creative community, the electronic music wunderkind never ceases to impress with their forward-thinking style, redefining dance music and leading the next generation of emerging electronic music artists. At the age of 17, Moore Kismet is ready for his Tomorrowland debut in 2022, further taking the dance music world by storm!

Odssey

Young Belgian DJ & producer Odssey started as a DJ at the age of 12, performing at a bunch of youth clubs in his hometown. Two years later, Odssey started producing and making his own music, using his autism to keep his focus, explore his wildest ideas and shape his mixing skills and production talents. Having made his debut at Tomorrowland in 2017 and having released his first record with Generation Smash in 2019, Odssey is finally ready to return to the Holy Grounds in 2022!

RayRay

Fast-rising DJ & producer RayRay is Taiwan’s finest musical export and is dropping pins across the global electronic music map. Starting out her career as a hip-hop DJ at the age of 17 in the local Taipei scene, she organically gravitated to the electronic music cartel, making her a diverse addition to the ever-evolving music industry.

As Taiwan’s first breakout dance music artist, RayRay helps Taiwan’s expansion into the worldwide dance music industry, providing opportunities for other Asian artists to make connections with international acts and help them to become known overseas. Having made her debut at Tomorrowland in 2018, RayRay is finally ready to return to the Holy Grounds in 2022!

Stay tuned for more because Tomorrowland is set to drop the full lineup tomorrow!
