Selling over three million albums globally, and racking up more than 40 million Spotify streams, the UK instrumentalist & vocalist has performed at a wide varied range of the biggest events on the circuit, including V Festival and Glastonbury.

Eddie’s latest collab with James Walsh is not the first time the pair have worked together, with the duo previously teaming up on ‘Love Will Never Let You Down.

This was a long overdue follow up single with my friend James Walsh”, added Thoneick.

“Both of us are big fans of melancholic harmonies and fragile elements that I wanted to combine with a more powerful, analogue feel. This is a track that I’m really proud of as we put a lot of detail into it. Kryder was instantly blown away by it, and that’s when we decided to do this record on Kryteria. He puts so much heart into things he loves which is what I wanted for this track.

Benny Benassi has enlisted Galantis for a funky house rework of “Cinema”

Benny Benassi

Following on from the success of his huge track, Cinema, Benny Benassi has enlisted Swedish super duo Galantis for a funky house rework, a decade since its release.

With the original already boasting over 500m of combined streams, as well as heavy support from BBC Radio 1 and more, Cinema has been one of the most recognisable songs of the decade since it dropped in 2011.

Originally released via Ultra Records as part of Benny’s fourth studio album Electroman, the single’s EP went on to include remixes from Laidback Luke, Alex Gaudino & Jason Rooney, Congo Rock, and not forgetting the huge Skrillex rework, which went onto win a Grammy award.

Milky Way. Beautiful night landscape with rocks and starry sky. Background

Now putting their stamp on the original, Galantis hop on a remix for the chart topping hit and the accolades between them are endless.

Benny said: “I love this remix! I love Galantis and I was really thrilled when they wanted to do it. Their remix is extremely fresh and I’m truly excited about Cinema getting a new lease of life!

Paying homage to the original, the duo weave in another dimension to the melody to compliment Gary Go’s beautiful vocals. Adding their signature grooving basslines and fun synths throughout, Galantis transform Cinema into a modern dance floor hit.

Seth Troxler & The Martinez Brothers collaborate for the first time in 7 years

A monstrous release worthy of the mightiest of collaborations, Seth Troxler and The Martinez Brothers return to conquer with a lament for our lost dance floors. Those 4am moments extinguished. The silent bass bins. ‘Play In The Dark’ is a track as unhinged as the times. A howl in the night.

The A SideSteam Mix‘ of ‘Play In The Dark‘ takes no prisoners as it unleashes ominous beats, an incessant groove and Seth’s suitably crazed vocals on lockdown frayed ears. Seth is undoubtedly one of the most distinctive vocalists in electronic music, and it’s great to hear the freaked out drawl haranguing and destabilising listeners all over again. The B SideTroxler’s Freak Mix‘ is more of a subtle groovier affair with classic house overtones, but make no mistake it’s just as devastating.

Although they have shared many DJ booths and notorious B2B’s over the years, ‘Play In The Dark‘ is the guys’ first release together since ‘Space & Time‘, their inaugural release for Tuskegee Music way back in 2014 (and later the ad campaign soundtrack for Louis Vuitton x Supreme). For the Bros, this is their debut outing on Damian Lazarus‘s Crosstown Rebels label, while Seth returns to CR for the first time since the mighty ‘Living The Life‘ collaboration with Art Department (March 2011).

This is also Seth Troxler‘s first solo studio output for quite some time, but marks the beginning of a return to the action with multiple solo releases primed through ’21. Meanwhile his Lost Souls of Saturn collaboration with Phil Moffa is nearing completion of a second album, with new music and explorations in augmented reality coming soon.

The Martinez Brothers continue to carve their own unique path. From their Lil YachtySaintLaurentYSL‘ (TMB Edit) and, of course, their anthem ‘Let It Go‘ with Louie Vega (recently a Radio 1 B List), to their most recent collaboration with Puerto Rican, reggaeton superstar Rauw Alejandro, Steve and Chris Martinez keep effortlessly navigating the spaces between the underground, Latin and hip hop mainstream.

Seth Troxler & The Martinez Brothers – Play In The Dark is set for release  February 19th.

Martin Garrix & Tove Lo release ‘Pressure’

Martin Garrix

With ‘Pressure’ Garrix is heading into a slightly different direction, with fresh, deeper sounds dominating throughout the track. Tove Lo’s edgy vocals and catchy lyrics perfectly complement the groovy track.

Always looking for ways to innovate, Garrix has been showcasing his diversity last year as well with deeper releases from his alias Ytram. No stranger to the dance floor or the pop charts, ‘Pressure‘ is a club-ready banger and also Tove Lo‘s first release of 2021. Her signature wit and seductive lyrics are the perfect complement to Garrix‘s production on the track.

Tove elaborates:

This track hit me in all the right places and I really wanted to be a part of it. It’s cool that it’s a slightly new direction for both me and Garrix! Lyrically it’s all about destructive passion and lack of self-control. Which feels amazing until it drives you crazy. I’m very excited for this to be our first collab, I hope all our fans feel it!

The release is accompanied by a music video shot on film, which will be premiered later today on Garrix‘s YouTube channel. The video takes the viewer on a tense ride of the main character’s blood-curdling search for her vision.

During last year’s lockdown, Garrix has had lots of time to work on new music, with the DJ and producer stating he ”can’t wait to share with his fans what he’s been working on”. This first release, as well as his one billion Spotify streams accolade for ‘In The Name of Love‘, sure set the tone for 2021 which is just getting started for him.

Fedele departs Agents of Time and announces solo debut for Ellum

Fedele

Fedele, who was part of the trio alongside Andrea Di Ceglie and Luigi Tutolo, departs the Correspondant, Afterlife and Kompakt releasing act after seven years and is now the sole owner and A&R of the Obscura imprint set up in 2017.

The first fruit of Fedele’s solo work, ‘Riot Disco’, lands late-February on Maceo Plex’s Ellum Audio.

Announcing the split, Fedele said:

‘Today marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. It hasn’t been an easy decision but, finally, as you might have noticed yesterday on the Agents Of Time’s account, I have decided to focus on my solo career as an artist.

The long artistic journey undertaken with Andrea and Luigi constitutes an unrepeatable experience of great value for me. It has helped me understand, over the course of 7 years of work, how to approach music in its many forms, the mistakes that can be made and those that can’t be repeated.

Strengthened by this, facing this new path of mine as a soloist constitutes an immense stimulus that allows me to demonstrate to myself that I can make it again on my own.

Check out Fedele’s full post on the split via his Instagram page below.
