Danny Tenaglia’s ‘Dibiza’ returns to life in the form of five new remixes

Celebrating 20 Years of Stereo Productions, the label is releasing history’s most iconic tracks. Catz ‘N Dogz, Harry Romero, Hector Vatos Locos and Oscar L are the artists in charge of bringing back to life Danny Tenaglia’s track ‘Dibiza’.

Now is time for the one and only Danny Tenaglia and his tribute to the white island with ‘Dibiza‘. The Italo-American artist born and raised in New York is considered one of the world’s most influential DJs. ‘Dibiza‘ returns to life in the form of five new remixes by renowned international artists such as Catz ‘N Dogz, Harry Romero, Hector (VL), Ki Creighton, and Oscar L.

Insatiable hitmakers Catz ‘N Dogz move comfortably between underground tracks and massive dance floor killers. Their peculiar remix is based on a full section of live percussion and stands out due to the kick drum’s total absence, a perfect DJ tool that will delight many DJs as the ideal prelude to a vast ‘drop’ or as an intro for your DJ Set.

The remix pack continues with Harry Romero, the renowned American DJ, and producer with Latin roots and creator of some of the most indispensable classics in the house’s history, who takes ‘Dibiza‘ into those hypnotic and intense atmospherical rhythms and driving beats. Arguably the most mind-focused remix of them all.

Mexican hero Hector and Vatos Locos head honcho gives his most minimalist vision to ‘Dibiza.’ An eclectic remix infused with deep grooves and metallic drums, approached from a much more raw point of view.

Under No Illusion‘s label boss and UK finest, Ki Creighton drags the track towards Tech-House grounds and therefore manages to update the sound of ‘Dibiza‘ for dance-floor burners. Sir Creighton maintains the elegant nature of the original while adding more grooves and effects to it.

And last but not least, Mister Oscar L, a Techno wizard from Madrid who is at an incredible moment of his career, takes the track to the next level. This remix brings forcefulness and strength to the package without losing a shred of class and quality. This remix is a peak time bomb for Festivals and Techno lovers.

Frankie Knuckles’ ‘Your Love’ receives two new remixes

How do you rework such a classic moment in time? Arguably one of the most iconic house music moments, born from the black LGBTQ+ scene in Chicago at the legendary Warehouse nightclub and known as one of Frankie Knuckles earliest productions; ‘Your Love’ is a stone cold classic. A record up there with the greats, instantly recognisable and a song that only gets better with time.

Written by Jamie Principle and initially released in 1986, ‘Your Love‘ has become a seminal recording over the past 34 years. Originally an underground club anthem, which was famously borrowed on the crossover hit ‘You’ve Got The Love‘ (The Source feat. Candi Staton) and most recently re-produced by as part of the Director’s Cut project which aimed to update a number of classic cuts for the modern dancefloor, this is a record that endures the test of time. Working alongside The Frankie Knuckles Foundation and Eric Kupper, SoSure Music now releases two new remixes for 2020 from Darius Syrossian and Alan Dixon.

House music aficionado and legendary Sankey‘s resident Darius Syrossian offers his unique blend of beats to the remix package. Darius’ production is heavily influenced by some of the greats – from the finest artists from Detroit, New York and Chicago. Having released on some exceptional labels including Get Physical, Viva Music and Hot Creations, he understands the soul that sits at the core of House music. Darius remix brings ‘Your Love‘ in 2020, rolling beats and big breaks he taps into the feeling of euphoria that ‘Your Love’ brings in peak time moments.

It’s probably one of the toughest projects you could ever take, with a track which has this much legendary status. You cannot disrespect it by changing it too much but at the same time you have to put your stamp on it. I’m very happy with how it has turned out. It’s also great knowing that this release is going to be helping out the Frankie Knuckles Foundation” – Darius Syrossian

Charting a rapid rise through the ranks in a relatively short time Alan Dixon is already built a name for himself in the House and Nu Disco scenes and has recently released on labels including Glitterbox, Permanent Vacation, Running Back and True Romance. Alan‘s remix aims directly at the centre of the dancefloor. Strong beats dominate a unique energy through the mix along with a slightly nostalgic vibe, Alan‘s remix updates a classic with respect.

Getting the opportunity to remix one of the most iconic house tracks of all time is obviously an honour. Luckily with the original having the old Chicago Trax sound I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Retain the original song structure and melodies and just freshen them up for today’s dancefloors (if they still exist). Frankie Knuckles if he was from Berlin in 2020…” – Alan Dixon

Remixing this mammoth track is no easy task, but in producing these new remixes both Darius Syrossian and Alan Dixon have both retained the unique vibe of ‘Your Loves‘, while adding a contemporary edge fit for today’s diverse dancefloors.

GusGus ascend towards a new era with ‘Higher’

GusGus

Ever-evolving, unrelenting, and uncompromising electronic powerhouse GusGus continue the celebration of their 25th anniversary with the release of their latest track ‘Higher’, the first single off their forthcoming 2021 album.

Unfolding into a new era, GusGus is excited to announce a fresh, new collaboration with fellow Icelandic band VÖK´s multi-talented vocalist Margrét Rán. Out now via their Oroom imprint, ‘Higher’ is available to stream across all streaming platforms.

The nearly four-minute musical endeavour immediately begins with a hypnotically mesmerizing kick drum that builds tension effortlessly with each passing second. The track exemplifies what GusGus does best – it seduces the listener with a captivating groove and serves larger-than-life, unapologetic melodies.

Glitchy, stabbing synths quickly enter the sonic space alongside Iceland’s favourite female voice, which nestles within the mind-expanding soundscapes like a latex glove.

GusGus Higher

Rán’s lyrics explore motifs of loneliness, greed, and human manipulation, and push their message alongside the backdrop of new, ecstatic sonic realms. Cerebrally atmospheric from start-to-finish, the slow rhythmic beat, brooding basslines, soothing repetition, and lush melodies characterize much of the rest of this lively electronic/synth-pop gem.

Following the release of their two-part remix LP, Remixes Are More Flexible Pt. 1 & 2, the Reykjavik royalty has been hard at work in the studio birthing their most ambitious musical project yet. Famous for their relentless explorative drive and unwavering commitment to pumping the well of synth-extravaganza, GusGus prepare to share the stage with one of Iceland’s most beloved and recognizable voices. Expanding their crossover potential, the band recruited Margrét Rán – best known for her role as lead vocalist in indie electronic band VÖK – to embark in the next chapter in their story.

Her ability to add another dimension to their new material is evident in ‘Higher’ and will undoubtedly shine through in their upcoming live performances, which already have a reputation for being unforgettable.

Merging the old with the new, GusGus prepares to completely immerse Rán into the inner workings of their creatively twisted world. On the newfound collaboration, Rán remarks:

GusGus sure is a scary rollercoaster and I’m super excited to be a part of this upcoming era. I’ve been a fan for many years.

No stranger to critical acclaim, Rán is beloved across her native country – and the world – for injecting her unique electronic dream-pop flavor into the Reykjavík-based VÖK. The band’s sophomore album ‘In The Dark’ marked their most accomplished work to date. The stunning LP landed them the most nominations with eight nods at the 2020 Icelandic Music Awards, resulting in a landslide win in the “Pop Album of The Year” category.

Higher’ marks only the beginning of what GusGus is brewing. Older, crazier, and sharper than ever before, GusGus have found unprecedented strength that has allowed them to reach new heights with their new offering.

After 25 years of music, memories, and unforgettable live performances, it’ll be a treat for long-time fans and avid listeners of the group to see what’s in store this new decade for Birgir Þórarinsson, Daníel Ágúst, and now, Margrét Rán as GusGus.

Solomun’s brand new single ‘Home’ goes #1

Solomun

Solomun is set to release his first album in eleven years in early 2021. ‘Home’, out since 16th October is the captivating new single of four new tracks to be teased ahead of the widely anticipated new album. It is currently sits on the #1 spot of the Beatport Charts.

Marking the first release on his freshly launched label NINL, ‘Home‘ is richly atmospheric and sees the artist incorporate dark tribal tones and ethereal build ups for a transcendent listening.

Here’s what Solomun had to say about “Home“: “Home was the starting point for the idea of an album in the first place. I had plenty of opportunities to play it and for me it has withstood the test of time. It was evident that this had to be the first single for the album.

Evoking a sense that in every place, music can find a home, but in order to really experience music, you have to immerse yourself in the spaces that are specifically created for music, the official music video captures that sentiment perfectly.

The video consists of artists performing passionate routines in some of the world’s most iconic venues including London’s Printworks, La Seine Musicale in Paris and Robert Johnson in Offenbach – a fitting metaphor for the lockdown that has burdened cultural centres for most of 2020.

The track marks the Bosnian-German artist’s first release since remixing tracks from Bob Moses and Perry Farrell respectively. He also dropped single ‘Rotweinfleck‘ back in February.

Born in Bosnia and raised in Hamburg, DJ, Producer and Label owner, Solomun has established himself as one of the finest electronic artists on the planet in recent years, winning the DJ Awards accolade for ‘Best International DJ’ multiple times and remixing countless high-profile acts, including Foals, Editors, Lana Del Rey, Paul Kalkbrenner, Jamiroquai, Depeche Mode, Apparat, Jon Hopkins and Leonard Cohen.

A masterful melodic house composition, ‘Home‘ leaves a lasting impression.
