Junior Jack releases extended version of his new single ‘Flash’

Junior Jack

After teasing his new single ‘Flash’, Dj and producer, Junior Jack is back again with an extended version of the record available now via his new label Adesso Music.

Having already been featured on Vito’s native Radio 105 Italy, the track continues to make waves across airwaves and dancefloors in the UK, Australia and Germany (where it was #1 Bullet DCC) and with early support from Tiesto, Eric Morillo and Martin Garrix.

Italian house producer Junior Jack became a huge star in the 2000s with chart-smashing hits like ‘My Feeling’, ‘E Samba’, ‘Da Hype’, ‘Thrill Me’ and UK number one single ‘Make Luv’ as Room 5, pushing an irresistible disco, funk and samba-fuelled sound that saw him quickly rise up the ranks of the scene. After a two-year break, he now returns to the scene stronger than ever with a new single and a new label.

“I’ve been away!” says the man otherwise known as Vito Lucente. “Everybody talks about a comeback, but I never stopped making music so it’s not a comeback, I was making music but not releasing it.”

After two decades of running his NoiseTraxx label, he decided to make a fresh start, and Adesso Music is the result. The first release is a collaboration with his friend and musical partner, Pat BDS, named ‘Flash’.

Flash‘ is a slick operation. A chunky, moody, driving house track with a subtle techno edge, it’s perfectly crafted for today’s dancefloors. A monotone bass groove drivers the hip-shaking techy percussion along with an almost tribal feel as a classic blues vocal sample loops and rises up from the depths.

Dark synth grunts intersperse as the mood builds towards the first tense breakdown and the vocal unfolds. This succinct arrangement needs little else to make it rock, with the excitement coming from subtle changes in the composition that continue the edgy feel. Old skool snare and clap fill sand more sinister synth tones drop after the final break to add more atmosphere.

With Junior Jack back touring after his extended time under the radar, ‘Flash‘ is getting a heavy road-testing right now. Look out for him and this bold new single, coming to a dancefloor near you soon.

Markus Schulz – In Search Of Sunrise – The Singles

With his second helming of an ‘In Search Of Sunrise’ complete and on full release, the next few weeks will see Markus Schulz place the spotlight on the music he purpose built for the album.

Over successive Fridays the club-expanded versions of ‘Sunrise Over The Bay’, ‘Bells Of Planaxis’ and the Talla teaming ‘Mainhattan’ will dawn.

Further, in starting to wrap up another remarkable 365, Markus has also onlined the final official video to come from his celebrated ‘We Are The Light’ album.

Kicking off the release string is ‘Sunrise Over The Bay’ – the body of water in question being one as close to home as it gets for Markus. Whilst not on tour Miami’s beatific Biscayne Bay is a sight seen every morning. In the moment during the summer, he musically translated it into a spiritually exhilaratingly, thrillsomely paced number.

Up next (and sunrise-available this very day!) is ‘Bells Of Planaxis’. The track’s inspirational roots lie in MarkusTomorrowland 2018 set, which he latterly interpreted with ISOS 15’s overture centrally in mind. Thoughtful, brooding, scene setting and never less than atmospheric, DJ Mag recently commented (in their “8/10” review) that it was all “measured rollout, reverb depth and chime-charm”.

Tying up this triple-decker is ‘Mainhattan’ – the result of a first-time studio meet between Markus and fellow countryman, Talla 2XLC. Finding them both close to top of their energy spectrums, the track fields a full court press of electro edge, squelch and distortion, all powered by its technotically unstoppable production.

As a substantial proportion of the planet heads into winter’s throes, Markus thought that the seasonally affected might need a little AV pick-me-up. No sooner said than served, as the hot-tropic video for the topically fitting ‘Utopia’ has hit the web! Featuring the authentically soulful tones of States-based singer Jared Lee, you can fight winter’s bite below.

Paul van Dyk & Elated team up for brand new-fire track ‘Parallel Dimension’

Paul van Dyk

Raising the curtain not just on a new season, but Mission: Guiding Light – the advance guard tour for his hotly-anticipated 2020 LP – Paul van Dyk serves that trance justice again.

Following in the wake of ‘Galaxy’ – September’s Vini Vici-collab’ing walk on the Psy-side, ‘Parallel Dimension’ swings back around to that instantaneously identifiable, classically floor-flaming PvD sonic.

For the track, Paul’s been joined at the mixing desk by a producer who may be a new name to some. Elated’s Graeme Knapp arrived on the trance reservation a couple of years back and amongst those with their ear to the ground swiftly started to built a reputation for himself. A number of his early releases found their way to Paul and after some positive-noise-type feedback the Canadian reached out.

What they’ve collectively worked up is an autumn-beating trance thunderbolt, which places clubbers heartstrings square between the crosshairs, whilst simultaneously planting their feet on the floor. With a no-prisoners tempo, hallmark PvD bass, from-within chords, awww-inspiring sub-melodies and kiss-the-sky mainline, ‘Parallel Dimension’s got the lot.

Listen to the track below.

Davey Asprey and Evan Henzi deliver soaring trance anthem ‘ALIEN’

Davey Asprey

Still buzzing from the success of smash hits such as ‘Aftermath’, ‘Allies’, ‘Sirens’ and the stadium-quivering ‘A.D.D.A’ (with Artento Divini), Davey Asprey jumped up to deliver another slam dunk today.

Together with vocalist Evan Henzi, the U.K. DJ and producer unleashed ‘ALIEN‘ onto Armin van Buuren‘s A State Of Trance label, sending Trance fans worldwide into raptures.

As vast and expansive as the universe itself, this first-ever collab between Davey Asprey and Evan Henzi is bound to light up the biggest stadiums. Helmed by a scintillating melody and vocals that reach for the stars, ‘ALIEN’ brings together the earthly and the otherworldly for a dance of romance on a Trance-tinged odyssey.

Davey Asprey: “The first time I heard the track ‘Call to Arms’ by Gareth Emery, I was blown away by the vocal talent of Evan. I knew right there and then that we just had to work together on my debut vocal release for Armada Music.”

Evan Henzi: “I loved what Davey did with his remix of ‘Call To Arms’, as his sound incorporates various styles in Trance that remain traditional yet push sonic boundaries. I was super excited to work with him on ‘ALIEN’, one of the first songs I wrote a while back. I had high hopes, and his co-writing and production exceeded those expectations.

For me, ‘ALIEN’ represents a blend of progressive and Psytrance genres, and pushes the boundaries on what it means to be different. My main goal is to portray a blend between the intersectional and metaphysical, and to be unafraid to party hard while always questioning who we are, what this existence means now, and what’s next.”

Nicky Romero delivers mainstage-ready remix of Armin van Buuren and NE-YO’s ‘Unlove You’

Nicky Romero,img via Marte Visser

A link-up as epic as Armin van Buuren and NE-YO’s recent collaboration deserves a remix of equal significance, and that’s exactly what fans are getting.

Today, Dutch superstar DJ and producer Nicky Romero offered up a top-notch remix of ‘Unlove You‘, delivering the very best of what dance music has to offer.

Unleashing his own touches onto the buzzing ‘Unlove You‘, Nicky Romero pushes out into the night with his club-tailored interpretation. Enhanced with a hands-in-the-air melody and seamless arrangement, this remix is the perfect counterpart of Armin van Buuren and NE-YO‘s smash hit.

Here’s what Armin van Buuren and Nicky Romero had to say about the new remix:

Armin van Buuren: “I’m very happy with this incredible remix from Nicky Romero. I’m a long-time fan of his work and I feel that he did the original song justice whilst giving it an energetic, mainstage-ready twist of his own. Top-drawer stuff!”

Nicky Romero: “Armin van Buuren and I have been colleagues for a long time, so it’s about time we started working together. I was in the studio listening to the songs of his album ‘Balance’ and his track with NE-YO struck a chord with me. I coincidentally had a project open that matched the vibe and key of the record perfectly, so it was just meant to be. It’s a magnificent song, and I’m glad I got to make it my own.”

E Komo Mai festival announces first wave of artists for its debut edition on Hawaii’s island

E Komo Mai

Thinking of booking your dream vacation next year? We may have found the perfect destination for you. There’s a brand new music festival called “E Komo Mai” that’s set to debut in 2020 on the Hawaiian island of Oahu.

The festival will be situated in paradise, surrounded by lush mountain valleys, a stunning ocean vista and constant warm sea and air temperatures – the perfect setting. E Komo Mai means “All Are Welcome” in native Hawaiian and is the ethos of a new dance music festival in America’s paradise, Hawaii. The festival takes place on the island of Oahu, known as the gathering place by ancient Hawaiians and an international travel destination today.

Celebrating the famous island and its Aloha Spirit through both music and culture, E Komo Mai is an intimate weekend of curated events that make the most of Oahu’s unique scenery and settings. Taking place February 14th to 17th 2020 over a three day weekend with talent such as DJ Dan, Doc Martin, Mikey Lion, Sacha Robotti and Kill Frenzy plus many more names to be announced.

Hawaii is an exotic and fabled international holiday destination, known for its lush mountain valleys cascading to a cerulean sea, stunning ocean vistas and constant warm sea and air temperatures.

The American paradise has a language and culture of its own and is the most remote island chain on the planet, making it the perfect place to explore the festivals three main tenets; music, culture and sustainability.

E Komo Mai will be the first of its kind in Hawaii, delivering a diverse program of events showcasing Honolulu’s vibrance and diversity, from the shores of world renown Waikiki to the gritty back-alleys of the Kaka’ako warehouse district. Daytime programming takes advantage of Waikiki’s most breathtaking views and activates gorgeous locales for their dance music debut.

Meanwhile, nighttime programming explores the island’s darker side. A raw, 50-foot ceiling warehouse will be transformed into a nocturnal jungle paradise and each night’s production will explore a different Hawaiian theme. The islands’ first Funktion 1 sound install, projection mapping and Hawaii’s only four am liquor license will all ensure an unparalleled clubbing experience.

E Komo Mai celebrates dance music with its global “ohana”. In Hawaiian this refers to an extended family, which can include friends and other important social groups. This concept of family and community informed the lineup, which includes West Coast favourites, DJ Dan and Doc Martin, both American institutions that have very much shaped a certain house style with decades of experience to draw upon when bringing the party.

Then comes the mystical Mikey Lion, boss of Desert Hearts Records and someone with a knack for curating house and techno trips that take you into another dimension and has done so at places like Burning Man many times. Add in Kill Frenzy & Sacha Robotti, who have been working together on their electric, quirky sounds on labels like DirtyBird since 2012, plus many more to come, and you have a perfect soundtrack.

Behind the festival are three seasoned dance music event professionals. Gina Milano, Tommy Speer and JoJo Walker, who collectively create a powerhouse team in abilities to deliver this new concept.

E Komo Mai is also eco-minded and has partnered with select Hawaiian charitable organizations and brands to encourage sustainable living and eco-friendly travel. Activities and experiences unique to Hawaii immerse attendees in the culture and mana (“spirit“) of the islands. A full agenda of daytime, holiday-making activities are available at the festivals host hotel, The Queen Kapiolani, for those who seek to enjoy all the island has to offer.

As such, E Komo Mai is set to be a beautiful bespoke and boutique festival in one of the world’s most iconic paradise locations, with an unforgettable soundtrack and wealth of local cultural treasures to explore.
