Nicole Moudaber drops spectacular and atmospheric remix of ‘Plastic Dreams’

Nicole Moudaber

Renowned record label and events brand Renaissance announce the next release in their acclaimed The ReMix Collection – a scintillating reworking of Jaydee’s 1992 R&S classic ‘Plastic Dreams’ from one of the leading names in techno: Producer, DJ & MOOD Records label boss Nicole Moudaber.

Nicole Moudaber’s spectacular and atmospheric remix of ‘Plastic Dreams’ is already receiving strong DJ support, not least from Carl Cox, who has been playing it out as a highlight of his recent sets.  Other supporters include Pete Tong, Honey Dijon (“Major!”), Dubfire, Anja Schneider, Huxley, Alan Fitzpatrick, Maceo Plex, Danny Tenaglia, Marco Carola, and Monika Kruse.

A track that Nicole Moudaber had always wanted to remix, when approaching such an iconic track as ‘Plastic Dreams’, she applied her trademark tough yet melodic sound, emphasising the jazzy bass notes and famous organ synthesiser refrain, to deliver a fresh and vibrant reworking.

On her remix, Nicole Moudaber said:

“I didn’t want to lose the essence of this ground-breaking track. I kept the balance between house and techno and added a little touch of jazz. I was in New York when I first heard it; I was dancing, I was flying, I was connecting with people, I was making memories. I believe I gave it justice, I certainly gave it a lot of space and respect of its original identity.”

Plastic Dreams’ will be available as a digital download, via streaming, and as a Limited-Edition vinyl, produced as part of a highly collectable and beautifully packaged box-set.

The ReMix Collection celebrates Renaissance’s proud heritage which has seen the brand at the forefront of electronic music since its inception in 1992. The concept behind the collection is to put a fresh and exciting take on seminal tracks that are closely connected with Renaissance’s early years.

Renaissance have also returned to their roots by hosting prestigious events at The Mill in Birmingham. Over the past twelve months, Renaissance have brought Dixon, Tale Of Us, Sasha, and Solomun to the second city, with Amelie Lens headlining a special daytime event on 1 December.

On 4 January, Renaissance will host its debut Tulum, Mexico event at the tropical jungle paradise, Zamna. At Renaissance Tulum, Nicole Moudaber will perform a unique sun-rise B2B set with Danny Tenaglia.

Renaissance Tulum will see techno sensation Charlotte de Witte, plus Drumcode heavyweights Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg all make their Tulum debuts. Also appearing on the spectacular line-up are Dubfire, Fort Romeau, Andhim, Robag Wrukme, Roman Flügel, WhoMadeWho, and BLANCAh.

Nora En Pure launches Purified Records with Marius Drescher marking the debut with “Panem” EP

Blossoming from a radio show into a worldwide event series, Nora En Pure’s Purified has become one of the most sought-after musical brands over the past few years.

Taking the next step in its evolution, Nora En Pure has announced the official launch of Purified Records. Marking the label’s first release is German producer Marius Drescher‘s ‘Panem‘ EP.

Making a thunderous debut, Berlin’s Marius Drescher displays a musical maturity beyond his years with his three-track ‘Panem‘ EP. The enchanting title track calls upon spacey synths and an emphatic bassline, while ‘Tunnel Vision‘ is an outstanding cut motivated by driving percussion and moody foreboding.

Throwing the listener into the deep end with an earth-shattering synth, this, along with the rest of the EP, are unforgettable additions to his back catalogue and are guaranteed to elevate Marius’ position in the global dance music scene.

Closing the EP with ‘Ardor‘, Marius delivers a carefully crafted, brooding creation that simmers across its duration. Demonstrating a different side to his sound, ‘Ardor‘ will keep the dance floor moving with its raw energy and heavy atmosphere. Playing a stellar set at Purified Prague, Marius was selected to help introduce the world to the essence of Purified with this momentous EP.

After an original brand launch during Miami Music Week back in 2017, Purified has gone from strength to strength, hosting successful, sold-out editions in Miami, New York, San Francisco, Palm Springs, Zürich and Prague as well as welcoming the likes of Pete Tong, Gorgon City, Kidnap, Moonwalk, Eelke Kleijn and Sonny Fodera behind the decks.

Representing the sounds and styles of Purified Radio, which received a nomination for Best Radio/Podcast in the 2019 IDMA Awards, the label will release club-focused, melodic deep house and techno.

The imprint of these releases will help shape future Purified events by welcoming label artists to work their magic on crowds in showcases around the globe, which will be touching down in select cities in 2020.

Above & Beyond have dropped a brand new track ‘Another Angel’

above & beyond

Debuted at Group Therapy Weekender 2019, Above & Beyond’s new bi-annual camping festival at The Gorge Amphitheatre outside of Seattle, this angel sounds far from heaven sent.

Another example of Above & Beyond’s recent attraction to tougher, tenebrous sounds this year (consider ‘Waltz’, ‘Distorted Truth’, ’There’s Only You’ and the resurgent tech-trance sounds of Genix on Anjunabeats), ‘Another Angel’ is released worldwide on Friday, November 22.

Warping minds and dancefloors from New York to Prague, accompanied by a titanic visual that’s unnervingly similar to Dr. Who’s most terrifying antagonist, ‘Another Angel’ samples the band’s own 2011 single ‘On My Way To Heaven’ from their acclaimed album ‘Group Therapy’.

The unmistakable and usually strident vocal work of Richard Bedford here sounds almost plaintive and cowed, surrounded on all sides by shuddering, cascading bass. Things culminate in a breathtaking drop that somehow manages to be quintessential Above & Beyond and something totally fresh at the same time.

Sziget Festival released a documentary film called “Wheels Of Madness”

Striving to continually stretch it’s arms widely across inclusivity, Sziget festival invite you to cast your mind back to the closing moments of this year’s festival instalment.

Triumphant and ecstatic scenes were transmitted around the globe, as fireworks erupted through the sky as the legendary Foo Fighters played a storming set to a packed crowd of adoring fans. Prior to launching into an unforgettable rendition of their classic track “Everlong” FF frontman Dave Grohl points out one lucky fan, imploring the crowd to bring him to the stage. Between choruses Dave Grohl shouted across the sea of people

“He’s the fu**ing star of the show, right there!”.

The overjoyed fan (and his wheelchair in tow) were lifted into the hands of the audience, as he made his way to the stage to end the set with a guitar-smashing finale.

Prior to news of this unforgettable moment travelling around the world, an independent film crew had journeyed to Sziget to find out more about the star of the show, creating this heart-warming mini- documentary “Wheels Of Madness”.

It has taught me a lot about myself and about humanity, kindness, friendships and extended my music awareness to different artists from all over the world. It has proved to me that limitations only exist inside our minds. I’m a better person and a better friend because of Sziget. Thank you! “

Sziget continue to prioritise their inclusive focused approach, ensuring that “Szitizens” from all backgrounds can enjoy all that the festival has to offer.
