Dermot Kennedy releases ‘Power over Me’ EP featuring Meduza remix!

2019 breakout star DERMOT KENNEDY today releases the brand new ‘Power Over Me EP’, which features remixes from the likes of MEDUZA as well as alternate versions of the original.

The EP is available now via DSPs. This follows the release of his long-awaited #1 debut album ‘WITHOUT FEAR‘ and Top 10 single ‘Outnumbered‘. The single has passed Gold status in the UK and had one of the longest runs of any single in 2019 to be playlisted on BBC Radio 1, culminating with 14 weeks of playlist support. Globally Dermot sits with just over 950m streams across all platforms.

“A colossal voice…Kennedy wears his heart and guts on his sleeve to powerful effect.” Guardian

“Bewitching.” The Times

“Without Fear is a bold and beautiful debut.” Gigwise

Alongside the original fan-favourite, the EP consists of acoustic and orchestral reworkings as well as remixes by Italian production trio MEDUZA who saw chart success last year with their platinum selling single ‘Piece Of Your Heart‘ and a previously released low-rumbling house reworking by up-and-coming DJ Ten Ven.

Without Fear‘, which reached #1 in the UK and Irish Official Charts and #18 in the Billboard Top 100, has proved Dermot to be a true star across the globe. The album was the fastest selling debut album of 2019 in Ireland and sat at #1 for five weeks, reaching the top spot again in the first week of 2020 after the two biggest headline shows of his career at Dublin’s 3Arena.

ARTY welcomes three remix twist of recent single ‘Daydreams’ (feat. Cimo Fränkel)

arty

After closing the year in style with one of his most empowering singles to date, ARTY has called upon his gifted peers to pick up where the sonic wonder of 2019 left off.

Now with fresh reimaginations from Sultan + Shepard, Felon and RetroVision, the electronic music phenomenon’s ‘Daydreams‘ single with Cimo Fränkel returns to the spotlight to both get the year off to a great start and warm up the crowd for more ARTY music to come soon.

As fans have already gotten a taste of the renditions of Sultan + Shepard and Felon, the ‘Daydreams‘ remix pack conjures up a wave of recognizability whilst ensuring full-scope dance music madness.

With all artists adding their own distinct color to the single’s canvas – and Sultan + Shepard even injecting the unique sound of their recently released ‘Echoes Of Life‘ album into the remix – the single comes alive once more in shapes and forms that’ll make the song flourish in every corner of the dance music realm.

As explained by ARTY when ‘Daydreams‘ was first released, the original songs revolves around the fact that we all go through hard times in our lives, the times when we lose the desire to live and stop enjoying all of the little things that made us happy before. But then one day, a person shows up in your life that changes everything, showing you the right path, that there’s still a light and that you should never stop dreaming.

To help the song reflect this hidden message, ARTY joined forces with singer-songwriter Cimo Fränkel, who co-wrote Cheat Codes and Kriss Kross Amsterdam‘s ‘Sex‘ (certified gold in the U.S., over 650 million streams worldwide). And now with Sultan + Shepard, Felon and RetroVision on remix duty, the song is set to reach even more people with its empowering message.

Oliver Heldens teams up with Mesto for first release of 2020: ‘The G.O.A.T’

Oliver Heldens

DJ and producer, Oliver Heldens kicks off his 2020 with an absolute monster in the form of ‘The G.O.A.T.’, his massive new collaboration with Mesto.

This rugged stomper kicks off the snappy beats and infectious vocal samples building the mood along with a brooding bassline. Soon some menacing old skool stabs drop in to create an intense feel, and a tease of the main melody plays as the snare rolls push the track higher. The drop unleashes the incredibly plump bass melody, all rubbery electro house flavour.

The riff doubles up with a higher pitched synth that heightens the impact of its playful sound, all combining over the punchiest of kicks and percussive switches. The breakdown layers dreamy, muted, reverbered piano chords with the old skool stabs, before a killer jungle / rave breakbeat is unleashed to add more energy still. When the drop returns, the effect is absolutely huge.

Watch the dancefloor go wild to this every time it’s dropped!

Star of Spinnin’ Records and Musical Freedom, Mesto also hails from Amsterdam and has been making some absolutely massive tracks of late. Most recently he collaborated with Aloe Blacc on ‘Don’t Worry‘, and he makes for a perfect production partner for Heldens.

Gareth Emery links up with Garuda regulars NASH and Linney for ‘Yesterday’

Gareth Emery NASH Linney

Gareth Emery has long been touted a grandmaster of Vocal Trance, and today’s release on his Garuda label sees him validate that status once more.

Created in tandem with DJ/producer NASH and singer-songwriter Linney, ‘Yesterday‘ already won over the crowd through Gareth Emery‘s stunning Laserface show in Minneapolis (with Linney singing live and NASH stagediving into the crowd) and is bound to reach even greater heights now that the song is officially out.

From the touching piano tones and Linney‘s empowering vocals to the melodic lift-off, ‘Yesterday‘ symbolizes a much-needed step forward into the light. A signature Gareth Emery production embellished with the touches of NASH, this track fuels the fire and pushes on those who held back at the turn of the road.

Gareth Emery: “I was so stoked to work with Linney and NASH as I’ve loved both of their work for ages. Super happy with the way this song turned out! We debuted this at Laserface in Minneapolis and it was a proper moment.”

NASH: “I am so excited for the release of ‘Yesterday’, as it’s been a pleasure working with Gareth again on this tune. It’s an absolute melodic monster that will have everyone singing at the top of their lungs to Linney’s amazing vocal.”

Linney: “Working with Gareth and NASH has been an incredible experience and I’m honored to be a part of this beautiful song! For me, the song is about recognizing and being grateful for everything I’ve come across in my life – both good and bad – and allowing that to push me forward to forge new paths, to create more deeply, to give more freely and hopefully inspire others along the way.”
