Bliss Out with JES’ Dreamy New Track “Carry Me Away” [Listen here]

The same captivating, soulful voice that redefined the electronic dance music landscape with classics like “As the Rush Comes” and “Letting Go” has done it yet again; JES sweeps us off our feet with her new song “Carry Me Away,” where her ethereal vocals are accompanied by sultry saxophone instrumentals and breezy digital melodies.

I feel just like I’m floating on a cloud,” JES croons throughout the track, a fitting lyric for the dreamlike, cathartic quality of “Carry Me Away.” The California-based singer-songwriter wrote “Carry Me Away” on her iPhone while delayed at New York‘s JFK airport during a snowstorm, perhaps giving the song its wistful quality; she collaborated with the Game Chasers, who also teamed with her on the Grammy-nominated “Hold On,” for the final cut.

Upon hearing the original vocals, the Unicorn Slayer himself, Markus Schulz, immediately requested them to make his own trance remix of the track. “Carry Me Away” possesses JES‘s signature timeless quality, so there’s no doubt this one will be in heavy rotation for years to come.

JES and the Game Chasers – “Carry me away”

There are few dance music vocalists as prolific as JES-creating uplifting, impassioned vocals has been the cornerstone of JES‘s career. JES‘s angelic voice is instantly recognizable after the world became familiar with it as the soundtrack to many of modern dance music’s most popular trance tracks, like “Fall Into You” with Cosmic Gate — which has 1.5 million streams on Spotify— and “Anything Can Happen” with FATUM, which was featured by Armin van Buuren on his iconic “A State of Trance 2016” compilation.

Steve Aoki and DVBBS Drop New Track “Without U” Featuring 2 Chainz [Listen Here]

Record producer, DJ and music executive Steve Aoki launches his new track “Without U” off his forthcoming album.

The latest single, collaboration with DJ/producer duo DVBBS and featuring 2 Chainz, was recorded in early 2016 after Aoki spoke with the Atlanta rapper for years about a potential collab, resulting in a co-produced banger that Tity Boi recorded separately in his studio.

In his continuing quest to bridge genres, Aoki is set to perform at JMBLYA fest on May 5 & 6 alongside Chance the RapperGucci ManeMigosLil Uzi Vert6lack and others. This is all coming off of the back of his pop driven single last December, Aoki‘s uplifting collab with One Direction member Louis Tomlinson “Just Hold On”,which debuted at #1 in 43 countries and has since achieved Gold or Platinum status in 18 countries

Aoki also earned his second Grammy nomination this past year for the Best Music Film category for his Netflix original documentary I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, which chronicles his fast-paced life as a DJ/producer by offering a first hand look into his world. The film debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival last spring to a sold-out audience.

The Chainsmokers crashed Huntley High School’s Prom last night [VIDEO]

Prom night took a legendary turn for a suburban Chicago high school this weekend, when the famous electronic dance pop duo, The Chainsmokers, crashed the party.

Students of Huntley High School were shocked when The Chainsmokers showed up at their prom Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Rosemont and gave a 10-minute performance. The duo performed their biggest hit “Closer” and then ran over to the Allstate Arena for their concert.

You want proof? Here it is, Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall shared a legendary photo from their impromptu gig.

According to dailyherald the performance was pre-planned. Some kid from the school had contacted their management a couple weeks before to schedule the “impromptu” show. But most of the students at the prom had no idea they would show.

Huntley High School Principal Scott Rowe said that an email from a student, who is also a Chainsmokers fan, struck a chord with Taggart and Pall, who played the show for free as a favor to the prom-goers.

“About two weeks ago I got this random phone call that I happened to answer, and on the other end this person said ‘This is going to be the strangest call you’ve ever received, but one of your students actually sent an email to the manager of the band …” Rowe said.

Ultra Music Festival voted as ‘The World’s No.1 Festival’ by DJ Mag for the 2nd year in a row!

As voted for by half-a-million readers of DJ MAG, Ultra Music Festival has won the title of ‘The World’s No.1 Festival’ for the second consecutive year.

Earlier this year, DJ MAG opened its 2017 Top 100 Clubs poll to the public, to find out which venue in clubland reigns supreme. And when half-a-million readers picked their five favorite clubs, DJ MAG also asked them to choose the one, single festival in the world they love the most. And, once again, the result is resounding!

Ultra Miami, the festival’s flagship, has got game, and we’re pretty damn sure you will not find a bigger line-up entirely dedicated to electronic music out there. But of course you already know that — that’s why you voted for it!

Having already united twenty countries across five continents since embarking upon its global journey in Brasil, the world’s most international, independent music festival brand is adding Australia, China and India to its unmatched international repertoire.

For the fourth consecutive year, Ultra Music Festival became the #1 trending topic on social media, with a staggering 42+ million mentions across all platforms – becoming the most tweeted about electronic music event in history.

The dates for the twentieth anniversary of Ultra Music Festival next year in 2018 have been announced as March 23, 24, 25.

Insomniac revealed stellar lineup for this year’s edition of Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas and fans were surprised to see Diplo‘s name on the list, after his last year’s statement over EDC’s Kinetic Field stage.

We all remember when the U.S based DJ and producer Diplo, decided to call out the EDC‘s main stage design last year.

But the founder and CEO of Insomniac, Pasquale Rotella had time to compose the perfect response for Diplo uploading a picture of Diplo wearing a strawberry on his head.

And now, one year later guess who’s announced as headliner at the exact same festival. It didn’t take long until fans started trolling Diplo on Twitter.

Delta Heavy Release ‘S.T.A.Y.’ a Tribute to Hans Zimmer

Delta Heavy

Hot off their RAM released single ‘Kaleidoscope’, Delta Heavy are back with a unique take on Hans Zimmer’s instant classic, ‘S.T.A.Y.’ from the motion picture Interstellar.

This self-release serves as a passion project for the two bass music aficionados, who are both avid fans and admirers of the prolific composers extensive catalogue. Ben Hall & Simon James will be the first to tell you about their borderline obsession with Hans Zimmer; having seen the composer multiple times in concert, the two are often inspired by his productions.

For their latest track they did not initially aim to create the tribute streamable above, rather the two producers unintentionally penned an orchestral introduction, only noticing the similarities afterwards.

As huge fans of the Christopher Nolan directed film Interstellar, the duo recreated the main theme ‘S.T.A.Y.’, adding their instantly recognizable DnB twist to the tribute. Blending orchestral percussion with dark horns and sharp synthetic sounds, the track combines Zimmer’s melodic prowess with Delta Heavy‘s aggressive brand of dance, forming one gloriously adapted film score.

Listen to the track below.

“The work of Hans Zimmer is truly one of our biggest influences, and Interstellar is our favourite ever film soundtrack. It felt natural to draw from this inspiration and we’re very proud to unveil what we feel is one of our most personal and ambitious projects to date”Delta Heavy

martin garrix prank

Dutch prodigy, Martin Garrix, was the center of a prank put on by famous Swedish duo, Axwell ^ Ingrosso, in their Bangkok hotel room earlier today.

The three headliners for Thailand’s Together Festival are seen goofing around before the big show in EDM DJ, Sebastian Ingrosso’s Instagram post.

The video shows DJ and record producer, Axwell, tricking Garrix into sticking his arms inside his shirt while music partner, Ingrosso, sneaks up behind the young superstar and pulls down his pants. The three immediately burst out laughing as Garrix pulls up his jeans and goes in for hug with Ingrosso.

The 20-year-old DJ, record producer and musician, just ranked number 1 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list for 2016 and he continues to kill the game in the EDM industry.

The prominent duo, Axwell ^ Ingrosso, former members of electronic music supergroup, Swedish House Mafia along with ex-friend, Steve Angelo, officially debuted their new twosome group in 2014. Since then, the two continue to gain a huge prominence in the EDM community.

Glad to see these DJs still have time to joke around with their crazy schedules. Keep us laughing you three.

Delicious Food at Music Festivals

With the food scene becoming more popular and trendy everyday, it makes sense to have some of the best cuisine at today’s festivals.

If you are eating at a rave your probably either a foodie or simply attempting to sober up. Some of the stuff you’ll find isn’t just your typical corndog and french fry, we are talking real deal gourmet home cooking.

Although some festivals are known for certain foods, most of them will have your typical festival/fair food. This ranges from a wide variety of cuisines across the world. Of course you’ll find some Mexican food, probably being either a huge burrito or authentic street tacos. You can also find pizza at most festivals these days along with the regular stuff like cheesy nachos and burgers.

As I mentioned above, some festivals are known for certain foods. Here’s a look at some of the more gourmet food that today’s bigger music festivals provide.

Tomorrowland

With no surprise, Belgium’s Tomorrowland takes home the trophy for festival with the best food. For some festival goers this means nothing, but for others like myself this means the world. As I mentioned earlier, the popular Tomorrowland Festival takes place in Belgium, where the food culture is thriving so it only makes sense to offer some of the best delicacies that the region can offer.

The festival offers everything from your typical cheeseburger to fine dining, easily satisfying everyone’s cravings. Some goodies that immediately stand out are the fresh strawberries that go perfectly with the classic Belgium waffles, not to mention the frozen yogurt stand. Other delicious treats include Belgium style croquettes, vegetarian/vegan dishes and they even have fresh sushi and steaks for those really trying to dive into the foodie world.

Coachella

Coachella Food

The Coachella Art and Music festival is another massive party that provides party goers with an abundance of quality gourmet food.

It’s a destination festival for most foodies with its wide variety ranging from Mediterranean food all the way to Fat Dragon, the popular new school type Chinese food based in Silver Lake, California. Some notable goodies that will for sure help sober you up throughout the event is the filling Spanish Paella and the famous Eureka Burger. Mexican and Italian cuisines are also present with authentic street tacos and New York style Pizza.

Another awesome part of the Coachella experience is the Craft Beer Barn which offers quality craft beers on tap which is an absolute must hit. The barn not only offers great beer on tap but also have their own personal kitchen to grab some quick snacks while enjoying your beer.

Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza Food

Chicago is one of those cities that offers some of the best food around the world, and Lollapalooza happens to land right smack dab in the middle of it. The obvious cuisines that should immediately come to mind when thinking of Chicago is Italian food and the famous Chicago hot dogs.

A cool feature that Lollapalooza offers is Chow Town which is host to thirty premiere food vendors that are local to Chicago. A full on farmers market is another cool feature about the event. As I mentioned earlier, Chicago is known for their amazing Italian food so it only makes sense for the festival to located not far from the famous ‘Little Italy’ district in downtown Chicago.
