Mochakk remixes The Martinez Brothers, Gordo & Rema hit track ‘Rizzla’

Fast-rising dance music talent Mochakk has dropped a remix of The Martinez Brothers, Gordo and Rema’s smash ‘Rizzla’.

Delivering a pitched-up, stripped-back take, the Mochakk remix of ‘Rizzla‘ is a hypnotic club weapon that’s been crafted with the dancefloor in mind. Released in March, the hit original has already clocked up over 2 million global streams and coincided with The Martinez BrothersHï Ibiza residency.

Two of the most consistent and recognizable names in the world of house and techno, The Martinez Brothers were introduced to disco and house music by their father from a young age.

While known for producing lean and effective club records, from their break out ‘H2 Da Izzo‘ in 2012 to their 2019 ‘SaintLaurentYSL‘ remix, their 2020 foray into Latin pop with Rauw Alejandro, Zion & Lennox and Mr. Naisgai on ‘Química‘ shows their capacity to navigate effortlessly between underground and pop. Their most recent release saw them remix the Teddy Pendergrass classic ‘The More I Get, The More I Want‘.

Guatemalan dance icon Diamanté Blackmon is once again defining a musical movement with his new house music alias: Gordo. Previously known as Carnage, Gordo made an instant mark on the scene last year with ‘KTM‘, the project’s debut single which became an instant ‘Top 10’ hit on the Beatport Main Chart. He has since dropped two more similarly well-received singles ‘EENIE WEENIE‘ and ‘TARAKA‘ and is ramping up for the summer with many gigs and releases to come.

Bursting onto the scene with breakthrough hits ‘Iron Man‘ and ‘Dumebi‘, Rema is one of the most in-demand artists around, receiving BET Awards nominations and having his music included on the FIFA 21 soundtrack. He released his debut album Rave & Roses in March, a 16-track release that features the likes of 6lack, Chris Brown, AJ Tracey and Yseult.

Born Pedro Maia, Mochakk is a 22-year-old sensation whose thrilling persona behind the decks matches his prolific production. Singling himself out as one to watch, his music has already made it onto the likes of Nervous Records, Dogghauz Records and more.
One of the brightest young stars of electronic music proves his production credentials with a stellar remix.

Above & Beyond’s latest dance anthem ‘Chains’ ft. Marty Longstaff is out now!

Above & Beyond

Above & Beyond’s latest dance anthem, ‘Chains’ (feat. Marty Longstaff), is available now, through Anjunabeats.

Premiered during the band’s Group Therapy 450 celebration at The Drumsheds London last September, ‘Chains‘ is Above & Beyond‘s second single of 2022 with singer Marty Longstaff, following the release of ‘Gratitude‘.

Chains‘ has been a mainstay in Above & Beyond‘s sets this past year, played extensively during their 70,000 ticket-selling Anjunafamily Reunion Tour and at festivals across the US and Europe this summer. The band recently headlined their Group Therapy Weekender festival at The Gorge Amphitheatre, WA, which welcomed 22,000 revelers.

Chains‘ is one of two original Above & Beyond productions to appear on their Anjunabeats Volume 16 compilation, alongside ‘Projection‘.

Also performing as The Lake Poets, Marty Longstaff rose to prominence with the moving acoustic ballad ‘Shipyards’. The song accompanies the opening credits to the sleeper hit Netflix documentary, ’Sunderland ’Till I Die’. The Sunderland-born singer-songwriter is also the voice of Above & Beyond‘s ‘Tightrope‘, ‘Flying By Candlelight’ and ‘Gratitude‘.

” ‘Jump and the net will appear’, a fleeting remark from a colleague of Tony’s at Warner Records has always percolated during songwriting. With the uncertainty of the last few years, it reared its head again and ‘Chains’ was born. Marty’s tones fit the track perfectly, reminding us that a step into the unknown, might just be putting your best foot forward.”Above & Beyond

Above & Beyond‘s extensive summer touring schedule rolls into autumn: their Group Therapy Weekender London festival takes place at Dockyards London in September, a sold-out date at Banc Of California Stadium in Los Angeles to mark Group Therapy 500, and appearances at Creamfields, EDC Orlando, EH1 Festival also in the diary. Sparkee

Sparkee is back again for an end-of-summer disco-pop track called ‘Breathe’.

It’s a collaboration with up-and-comer producer Sierra on vocals and production duties. The song contains the classic Sparkee syncopated synth hooks, groovy basslines, and Nile Rodgers inspired funky guitars.

Sierra lays down some awesome vocals as well as some synth layers and clever arrangement. ‘Breathe’ is yet another single on Sparkee’s upcoming EP ‘Snack Pack’ which is coming out in September.

Quote about the track from Sierra: “Having been a fan of Sparkee’s past releases, the opportunity to collaborate was an easy yes! When I heard the instrumental I instantly knew it was the one and the song practically wrote itself. Super excited to give everyone one last banger before the summer ends :)”

Exclusive Interview with DJ and Producer Abderrahman Elhad aka Mr. ID

Deeply linked to the city of Casablanca, Abderrahman Elhad (AKA Mr. ID) is an artist who has a lot of heart and guts. The Moroccan artist has bought his music to esteemed labels like Elbaraka and Sol Selectas, and most recently with the world renowned Buddha Bar with “Black Diamond”.

We spoke to him recently to discuss the Moroccan electronic music scene and how it’s developed over the last 10 years, and how the new single came about…

Check out the full interview below!

Hey Mr. ID, It’s great to meet you! How’s your summer been so far?

Great to meet you guys! Thanks for having me. So far so good! A busy summer full of positive energy. Many dates in Morocco and Europe and a release of a track I cherish a lot which is “Black Diamond”.

Congrats on your latest release Black Diamond on Buddha Bar. What was your inspiration behind this record?

Thank you, it means a lot. The inspiration was a mix between Moroccan and South African sounds driven by a diversity message and a celebration for the joint culture of the two countries.

Buddha Bar is a well-known brand worldwide, what does it mean for you to be releasing your music with them?

An honour. I think every DJ wants to be linked with Buddha Bar at some point of their career. I hope it will not be the last one!

You are deeply linked to the city of Casablanca, Morocco. How has the local culture and nightlife influenced your sound?

Casablanca (with the Marrakech) is the city where the nightlife is the most active. There are many famous clubs and a big Electro fan base growing and evolving very fast. And in terms of influence, people from all parts of Morocco and the World in general live in Casablanca.

This melting pot is exposing us artists to different sounds, dialects and cultures. I’m raised and born in Casablanca so I was in touch with these subcultural specificities at a very young age. Hence, they are now the aspects that are defining my identity as an artist.

Black Diamond features the soulful voice of Andile Mbili – a talented South African singer and songwriter. How did you connect and what was the process behind this collaboration?

It’s all about feeling! We met in Morocco and it was an instant connection. We told ourselves : We should do a song together! We have the same vision about promoting African Culture and heritage. We wanted to celebrate it through a track. We aligned also the instruments used, the lyrics and everything came smoothly afterwards. We’re very proud of the project and we hope the listeners will enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it!

How does your setup look like?

A 3 CDJ players, Djm/ A deepmind 6 analog synthesizer, an Akai Force, and a mixing console.

What comes first when working on a track?

The first element I keep in mind is the message the track should drive and after I try to find the best instruments and sounds that can express the emotions and the energy of the message.

What is your approach when bringing together a DJ mix?

It’s a matter of feeling too! Storytelling has a lot to do it with it also. It needs to tell a story and also to be relevant to our fans.

Who would you say have been 3 of your most aspiring artists you have looked up to and admired on your path to where you are as an artist?

I have two in mind actually. The first one will be Little Louie Vega. Thanks to him I got to move from Hip Hop or Jazz mixing to House than electro. The second one will be Osunlade. I just love his energy and he’s excellent technically.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer our questions, is there anything else you would like to mention before we go?

Make sure to follow me on IG as there are many exciting projects upcoming that I really want to share with the world as I put a lot of heart in the music I make. You’ll see that Morocco has so much to offer musically. Love you guys and Salam.

Jacob Colon stunning productions have been reaching new heights, as the DJ keeps a strong and consistent pace releasing hard-hitting bangers that have been received enthusiastically by listeners all over the world, as well as his radio show ‘Made to Move’ getting new slots in the weekly schedule of radio stations worldwide, the artist continues his mission of delivering his signature Jacob Colon sound with every new release.

Now, we sat down with him to talk about the release of ‘Get Down’ a powerful banger that’s already making a splash.

Hello Jacob, how are things going?

Things have been very good. I’ve had some great responses about this latest drop along with seeing a few additional radio stations picking up my show “Made to Move Radio” so, I’m excited to keep this momentum going.

‘Get Down’ is officially out, can you tell us what inspired this track?

At the time of this production, I was listening to a lot of Kanye West. I got inspired but how he used vocal elements like shouts as background ambience. You’ll hear some of those elements in this track.

What did you want to achieve sonically with this song?

I wanted to create a mysterious and moody type of vibe.

Which part of the song did you start working on first?

Drums and Bass.

What samples did you use for this production?

There’s a lot of different samples that I chopped up and rearranged to create atmospheres and interesting ear-candy type of things.

Did you learn something new while working on this track?

I always learn small tricks to help improve my tracks. Nothing that would be noticeable to the common listener. It’s more of an engineering thing.

How does ‘Get Down’ compare to your latest releases?

I would say this track is similar in style compared to my other releases. I think the groove is the most important element that create the Jacob Colon sound which is something I focus on every time I create a song.

Whose opinion do you trust the most when producing music?

I have a few close peers that I ask for opinions. Besides that, I just keep it moving and trust my own ear.

Would you like to experiment with new genres in the future?

Perhaps something outside of the House scene. I’ve produced Hip Hop and other genres in the past, so I can definitely see myself exploring it again in the future.

What’s coming up for Jacob Colon?

More music…. Follow me on social media to find out.

Einmusika taps Darin Epsilon for next EINMIX DJ Mix

Einmusika Recordings invites internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner Darin Epsilon for the 7th installment of their EINMIX DJ mix compilation series. The 25-track compilation follows Marc DePulse’s 2021 contribution and places Epsilon amongst established producers Einmusik, Lexer, Jonas Saalbach, Carlo Whale, and Marius Drescher, who have all contributed to previous editions of the growing series. EINMIX by Darin Epsilon is due for release on August 26th via Einmusika Recordings across all streaming platforms.

Darin Epsilon knows what it takes to curate a listening experience that transcends the play button. Frequently donned as one of the leading early influencers of the Melodic House & Techno and Progressive House genres, he has been making his presence known with a continuous stream of top-quality records since breaking into the scene in 2006.

The industry veteran has since elevated his profile by sharing the spotlight with leading dance music tastemakers such as John Digweed, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Above & Beyond, Eric Prydz, and countless others. In addition to crafting exclusive edits for his forthcoming EINMIX, 2022 has seen him take the release reins on several top imprints including Family Piknik, Desert Hearts Black, and Ritter Butzke.

Epsilon‘s EINMIX marks the first offering from the series this year and features 17 exclusive edits of the Einmusika back catalog plus two of Darin‘s own productions. The tracklist boasts select cuts from the likes of Eelke Kleijn, Henry Saiz, Hernan Cattaneo, NTO, Sebastien Leger, Township Rebellion, and Einmusika head honcho himself, Einmusik.

This is Epsilon‘s first long-form release since delivering his WE ARE KATERMUKKE DJ mix last year, a stunning compilation that celebrated the essence and underground sound of his current home base, Berlin.

“The process of putting together this compilation was extremely challenging. It’s not very often that you come across a label with such an enormous back catalog and high standard of quality tracks to choose from.

All in all, it took me 5 days just to listen through every song they’ve ever signed, and then another 2 to figure out the positioning of each one and the overall pacing of the set. I had to do this while making sure each song was harmonically related with the one before it, and keep the intensity building and building until the end.

It was an absolute honor and pleasure to be invited by the Einmusika team and I truly appreciate their continued trust and support!” Darin Epsilon

In the midst of prepping for the launch of his EINMIX, Epsilon has been taking his unique club set to the global masses. His summer tour has seen him perform in Bangladesh, Vietnam, and India, and has him slated to take over the decks at various venues across Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Germany, and the Netherlands (full upcoming tour dates below) in the coming months.
