Scott Avery presents his debut extended player – Child Self

Making a welcome entrance, Detroit-based artist Scott Avery steps into the ring and presents his debut extended player – Child Self.

Born in Philly and raised on his father’s all-encompassing record collection, Avery‘s appreciation for music comes from the soul. Early exposure to Philly’s underground music scene, block parties, and cookouts sparked his admiration of music of all genres.

In 2005, he moved to NYC to pursue a career in the arts. A few years later, Avery made his artistic debut with Reasonable Doubt, a five-day performance art piece where he explored honesty and integrity in the art world.

In 2016, Avery moved to Detroit, a city known for breeding the early sounds of underground electronic music. In Detroit, techno’s legacy and the pulse of its creative landscape provided him with daily inspiration. However, it wasn’t until his father passed away in 2018 that his earliest experiences of music came back to the forefront. Familial memories inspired his entry into the world of electronic music. This crucible is where Avery was reborn, a moniker that has come to symbolise self-reflection, collective experience, and boundless realisation.

Fast forward to the present, his debut E.P. Child Self, traverses across an array of soundscapes – with the extended player paying homage to innocence and the source of his creative expression. The E.P. also represents a juncture in Avery‘s own personal history, a moment of artistic reflection as he considers the varying roads that have led him to the present day.

From the opening cut ‘Pink Polo’, title track ‘Child Self‘ and onto ‘Ecstasy‘ and ‘Operational Tempo‘ – Avery‘s personal and historical memories resurface across the E.P. in roundabout ways, unlocked in ecstatic sonic transmissions, expressing profound sentiments that language can’t easily describe.

Underpinned with subtle reference points to Detroit’s legendary history, with underlying samples that seamlessly flow between house, Motown, disco, and Hip-Hop, Child Self clearly defines Avery‘s forthcoming musical agenda fittingly.

Bedouin reveal lineups for 20 week residency at Pacha Ibiza

Miami-based duo Bedouin formed by Rami Abousabe and Tamer Malki brings a new saga to the world’s most iconic nightclub and famous red cherries Pacha Ibiza every Wednesday this summer.

Rising from the dust of the desert at Burning Man to becoming globally respected producers, Bedouin have created their own idiosyncratic spell of melodies and musical rhythms that stem from their Middle Eastern heritage and Western upbringing.

With the pairs IbizaSaga” weekly residency beginning at Heart Ibiza in 2017, carefully curated with a handful of selected guests; the party brand is now an exciting, imposing experience and surrealist production set to own the midweek on the White Isle this summer.

As a magical Middle Eastern-inspired experience infused with incense and dimly lit dancers with the same Story of Sound: enticingly beautiful, dramatically fresh, and infectiously blended. Every Wednesday, expect a multisensorial yet otherworldly production that aligns, inspires and elevates, the innovative club concept by Rami and Tamer has amassed a cult following and ranks amongst the island’s most mysterious residencies.

Not too long ago, we enjoyed longer nights on carefree dance floors. There were fewer masks, more friendships, and mesmerizing moments together for all to cherish. Time is only lost, however, if we don’t make up for it. This is why Bedouin returns to Ibiza.

Bedouin‘s residency for summer 2022 is Pacha-bound and season-wide. Starting May 25th, A Wednesday Saga welcomes back favorites at their creative peak, new guest artists, and live acts: Acid Pauli, andhim, Audiofly, Birds Of Mind, Black Coffee, Bob Moses, Bonobo, Carlita, Chloé Caillet, Damian Lazarus, Deep Dish, DJ Tennis, Guy Gerber, Guy Laliberté, Henrik Schwarz, Mano Le Tough, Patrick Bäumel, Red Axes, Trikk, Upercent and WhoMadeWho. Everyone’s back, basically, but the saga isn’t complete with you.

The vibe is storytelling, inviting new feelings from deep meanings delivered audiovisually. A musical epic experienced through dance, teleporting listeners somewhere they haven’t been before. The tenacity of their message (newness) in the universality of the medium (music) is Bedouin. A Wednesday Saga is how they tell it, and Pacha is where we live it this summer.

We’ve been working so hard on making this a very special residency since we’ve been waiting 2 years to return to the island. This residency is all about the music and coming back together. Our goal is for people to leave remembering the feeling they experienced and for them to carry that feeling through their life.Bedouin

A go-to destination since the 1970s where heritage, music, and glamour combine, Pacha returns after a two-year hiatus to capture an electric mix of authenticity, spontaneity, fun and kudos. The club’s incredible new production, creative decor and theatrics today blends in harmony with its rich history and soul of the past.

Medii unveil ‘What If This Is All Real’ LP, closing out unique saga of 2022 sounds

What If This Is All Real LP symbolizes a full circle moment from duo Medii. Now having released two EP’s in 2022, Binary Blue EP and Replica Red EP, they close out this chapter of their music release schedule with an album featuring 4 brand-new songs.

What If This Is All Real pulls together the tracklist from the February and May EP and ties it together with a never-before revealed intro track and 3 stand-alone singles. With the EP’s having their own cohesive ebb and flow when it comes to the segues song to song, What If This Is All Real LP expands on this sentiment with the full scope of the experience fleshed out in its final form.

Dying Day,” utilizes a moody, all-instrumental disposition to draw the curtain back as to the vibes and mood’s one should brace themselves to soak up. Electric guitar plucks, dramatic vocal samples, and a live drum all allude to the cinematic nature that is soon to unfold upon the listener – a fitting springboard to an extensive adventure.

My Mind’s Escaping,” maintains the sentimental nature that the intro song broadcasted, yet brings in a sunnier disposition as the song’s measures move forward. The perfect blend of electronic influences and a live instrumental feel create the backdrop for easy-going, indie-pop-inspired vocals to inject themselves into the soul. Technical, creative, and full of surprises, the lead single shows how the album goes beyond what the EP could have led listeners to anticipate.

Love Yourself,” blends in a romantic edge into this album. Sentimental and reflective at some moments, while upbeat and happy-go-lucky at others, Medii strikes an impressive balance on this tune – a vibe that fits right into the sonic themes that both the previous track and previous EPs showcased.

Real (feat. Cat Cayenne),” plays out like a song from the soundtrack of a movie. Exploding with personality and the beat and vocal aligning in a beautifully cohesive manner. Medii makes it difficult not to get fully immersed into the moment with this one in particular. Soft synth layers platform heavy-handed, drumwork to render something defining and unforgettable.

Closing out the album and a near half-year of music from Medii is “Better Place.” Sharing a bit more groove with finger snaps and confident rhythms. The lyrics and timbre are simultaneously comforting and reassuring, leaving the listener with a sense that all will be well and Medii will be back again with more music to grace this world’ sonic stratosphere.

Vintage Culture shares remix of Bob Moses’ “Love Brand New”

GRAMMY® Award-winning duo Bob Moses share Brazilian producer/DJ Vintage Culture’s club-ready remix of their hit single “Love Brand New” and an accompanying visualizer. One of the most anthemic moments on the Los Angeles-based band’s recently released third album The Silence in Between (Domino Recording Company/Astralwerks), “Love Brand New” climbed to the #2 spot at Alternative Radio this week.

In a striking departure from the original version of “Love Brand New” — a moody and mercurial track that’s cracked the top ten at AAA Radio and reached #11 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart — Vintage Culture’s high-energy remix strips away the band’s brooding guitar tones and accelerates the tempo to a thrilling velocity. Building to a wild intensity in its first minute, the remix then bursts into a dizzying explosion of pulsating beats and potent grooves — all while expertly preserving the song’s indelible melodies and raw emotion.

“Vintage Culture is a very talented gentleman, and we feel fortunate to be able to have him work his magic on of our tracks for a second time,” state Bob Moses, whose 2020 track “Desire” was remixed by Vintage Culture and Kiko Franco. “We look forward to dropping this banging mix in our Club Sets for the foreseeable future.”

Widely recognized as one of the most influential and creative forces of his generation in Brazil and beyond, Vintage Culture has also brought his talents to impressive remixes of the likes of Meduza, Moby, Diplo, David Guetta and Sia.

“The songs that Bob Moses write and record are inspiring and have an emotional impact on the audience”, says Vintage Culture. “I admire their talent and I’m very proud to lend my production skills to the new remix of ‘Love Brand New.’ I look forward to including this new classic in my shows through the Summer of 2022.”

Cellini arrives on Tomorrowland Music with his powerful track ‘Lose Yourself’

hello@walliannika.com

Italo-Belgian rising DJ and producer Cellini is delivering his very first release ‘Lose Yourself’, released through Tomorrowland Music.

Lose Yourself‘ comes in the shape of a sublime melodic blend between acoustic and electronic sounds – sometimes deep and emotional, yet sometimes powerful and ecstatic – with upcoming vocalist Amos‘ vocals as the cherry on the cake. This excellent track is a stunning example of Cellini‘s signature sound.

2022 is definitely Cellini‘s biggest year so far! The pasta and wine aficionado is joining the Tomorrowland Music family with his first release ‘Lose Yourself‘ and will also be performing at the first edition of the brand-new CORE Festival in the capital of Europe in May.

Set to make his debut on the legendary Mainstage of Tomorrowland this summer, as well as hosting his own ‘Cellini & Friends‘ stage at the mythical CORE stage tucked away in the enchanting forests of Tomorrowland, Cellini is the name to watch in the near future!

Here’s what Cellini had to say about the release:

The track was built around a Kalimba loop. It literally started as a fun studio jam without the intention of going into a song structure. The drums were a natural layer and for once it felt good to not keep it 4 to the floor.

In the last phase Amos joined me in the studio and started improvising vocals on the track. In the end I selected a couple of verses from the very first take and started playing around with them. The track is completely based on intuition, sometimes everything falls together without extra takes or an extra production period.

Cyazon strikes back with yet another hard-hitting banger. He teams up once more with talented musician, producer and vocalist Becko to bring forward ‘Artificial Tears’ a futuristic track that showcases Cyazon’s style and promises to maintain the gates open to his futuristic, cyberpunk and dystopian music world.

Cyazon has kept busy between producing new music, collaborating on new projects and curating fresh mixes for his hit radio show ‘Cyber Future’.

Artificial Tears’ starts off with a strong with a grandiose sound and vibe that persists throughout the song. A revving bass gets the listener’s attention, while glitching synths and elements complete the soundscape. A hard-hitting beat made up of heavy drums keep the rhythm.

Then, growling basslines follow the drop, only to find a moment for a small interlude creating a mysterious moment. This break for suspense, is supported by airy pads, and sonic textures that mark a moment in the song; to then have Becko take the lead again and guide the listener to the next part of the journey. ‘Artificial Tears’ features Becko’s vocals and its signature sound, mixed with arpeggiated synths as sonic layers that add a technologic/futuristic texture and vibe.

The song drops again and again to growling bass and glitching sounds that give the sensation of a glitch in the matrix. Energetic song that showcases Cyazon’s dexterous style that combines futuristic and dystopian aesthetics that builds a music world of its own with every release.

Be sure to follow Cyazon’s latest endeavors as he continues to push the limits and show off his skills as one of the most innovative DJs and producers out there.
