Lilly Palmer set to release thrilling debut EP on Drumcode, ‘We Control’

One of the most exciting names to emerge on the techno scene in recent times, Lilly Palmer makes her long-awaited Drumcode EP debut.

The German-born artist is a thrilling performer, who backs up her kinetic DJ sets with a quality body of production work. We got a taste of her talent when she contributed ‘Amnesie‘ to A-Sides Vol.10 and elsewhere she’s dropped heat on labels including Octopus Records, Senso Sounds and her own Spannung Records imprint.

We Control‘ is a satisfying label debut exhibiting her stealth-like ability to work a dancefloor with a variety of driving techno moods. The title track embodies a key-driven Motor City vibe, before thrilling waves of jagged synths and ravey effects take the cut into brain spangling bosh territory.

Resistance‘ builds tension and anticipation in equal parts and is a vibe-heavy tool needed for every set. ‘Plasma‘ is a full-force weapon that highlights why there’s so much excitement surrounding the rising artist. The EP closes with ‘Don’t Look Back‘, as deep pulsating layers of bass cascade towards the finish line.

I am absolutely thrilled to have my first 4-track EP coming out Drumcode this April. All four tracks have been major highlights in my sets last year, especially with ‘We Control’ I always felt this exceptional excitement of the crowd, and I couldn’t imagine a better label than Drumcode for them!” – Lilly Palmer

Kryder builds on recent success with standout track: ‘Wish’

Kryder

In the wake of securing a spot in 1001Tracklists’ Top 10 most supported tracks of 2021 with his late-2021 single ‘Piece Of Art’, British producer Kryder is picking up the pace again with a new track that expertly showcases his diversity as a music maker.

A standout single in its own right as well as compared to its creator’s body of work so far, ‘Wish‘ is just the kind of track countless dance music fans have been crossing their fingers for.

Radiating a sense of near-intangible wonder, ‘Wish‘ underlines just how versatile of a producer Kryder is. Pulling listeners in with deep sub bass, precious vocals and emerging pads that open up a path to the breakbeat-helmed drop, this track offers up a dream-like atmosphere that can only be described as a treat to the senses.

For me, 2022 is about inspiring and motivating others within my role as an artist and storyteller“, Kryder says.

I want people to feel something when they play my music and I want them to connect with the message behind the song. By merging the melodic and emotional textures in a cinematic, but energetic way, I hope to awaken the soul and vibrate the spirit!

Sander van Doorn drops rework of Praga Khan’s 2000 hit ‘Breakfast in Vegas’

Sander van Doorn is back this year with an updated new take on venerated musician Praga Khan’s masterpiece ‘Breakfast in Vegas’. The hard-hitting, acid-laden song was initially released as the first track on his album ‘Twenty First Century Skin’ back in 2000, and has held up over the years as his 2nd most-streamed song via Spotify to-date.

The latest tune to come from Sander directly follows up ‘Raindrops’ with Chacel, Macon, and SELVA from earlier last month. Out now via his very-own imprint Doorn Records, ‘Breakfast in Vegas’ is available to listen to across all streaming platforms.

The newly-reimagined track begins with a pulsating bass, quickly followed by entrancing production sensibilities. A four-on-the-floor beat is introduced, paired perfectly alongside the propelling rhythm and heady ambiance.

Pivoting stylistically, Sander maintains the same hard-hitting acid flair present in the source material whilst adding a newfound techno quality that serves as a perfect addition to the tune.

Praga Khan’s textured vocal hypnotizes and lulls the listener throughout its entirety, lending yet another atmospheric element to the rapturous sonic endeavor. In all, the new take on ‘Breakfast in Vegas’ is a monumental release that nostalgically harkens back to the rave days of the early 2000s.
