Armin van Buuren launches 10-minute meditation routine on Insight Timer

Those who have been following along with Armin van Buuren’s journey know that meditation and mindfulness have rapidly become positive pillars of his busy life.

The five-time #1 DJ in the world has talked at length about the importance of finding balance to keep one’s self grounded, and that has now led to him joining forces with meditation app Insight Timer to launch his own 10-minute routine, complete with a self-produced sound bed and a bonus version with commentary.

Meditation, for me, is a moment for myself, and a way for me to deal with the cloud In my head“, Armin van Buuren says.

Every day, I check in with myself. If I listen to my breath and just focus on my breathing, immediately my mind starts to wander. Now I understand that’s ok and just let the thoughts be. I make a note in my head and bring my focus back on my breathing. That’s always my anchor. I wanted to share this with my fans, so I recorded this meditation for others to practice to so that they, as well, may find balance.

UNTOLD Festival 2021

The hard-working organizers of one of the biggest festivals in the world, UNTOLD, are preparing to open the gates of the magical realm on Thursday, August 4. For 4 days and 4 nights, more than 200 renowned national and international artists and tens of thousands of fans will live the joy of seeing each other at the UNTOLD Festival, in the heart of Transylvania, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Over 15,000 people from over 20 countries are building worlds and decors in the Cluj Arena stadium and its surroundings. There will be impressive stages and special music spots, over 70 vendors with food and drinks, a fashion corner called Designers’ Nest, partners activations, magical characters, entertainers, and dancers who will create amazing shows throughout the festival, as well as many other surprises. The festival covers an area of 235,000 square meters.

The UNTOLD 2022 theme is “Temple of Lúna” and can be seen inside the stadium and on the mainstage’s decorations. The Wizard, the protector of the festival, needs help to save the whole world. 5 orders (Order of the Griffin, Order of the Owl, Order of the Dragonfly, Order of the Stag, and Order of the Firefly) have 5 artifacts that will help the Wizard in his quest. He will have to go through 5 challenges to get all the help he needs.

Each order represents a series of values with which fans of the festival can identify: Order of the Griffin for those who are in continuous experimentation and openness to the new, Order of the Owl for those who are primarily focused on knowledge and acquisition of wisdom, the Order of the Dragonfly for those who seek to live their lives to their fullest potential, the Order of the Stag for those who seek diverse, meaningful human connections, and the Order of the Firefly for those who find happiness in being surrounded by the loved ones.

Each year, the festival’s theme is revealed on the main stage. The decorations, lights, and video content are the main storytelling tools to bring people into the magical atmosphere of UNTOLD. The festival’s production is impressive, with over 1,000 tons of materials, brought by over 500 trucks for all setups, from stages, and decorations to food and drinks areas, ticket containers, credit points, activations, and activities.

The production is completed by the artistic component, full of memorable moments: the opening ceremony will be led by Claptone, and 100 dancers and entertainers will surround by a masked ball show with more than 10,000 masks distributed to the public.
Romanian and international artists are also preparing unique acts on the mainstage. The closing ceremony will be performed alongside Lost Frequencies and a show of fireworks and lasers that will fill the sky. The festival will be closed on the mainstage on Monday morning by Tujamo.

Above & Beyond, Alok, Anne-Marie, ATB, Bassjackers, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Don Diablo, G Eazy, Hardwell, JBalvin, Kungs, Kygo, Lost Frequencies, Major Lazer Soundsystem, Morten, Oliver Heldens, Paul Kalkbrenner Live, Steve Aoki, Tujamo and Vini Vici are the most awaited artists on the UNTOLD mainstage.

The mainstage will have over 700 square meters of LED screen, it will be 24 meters high, 95 meters wide, and 30 meters deep. The weight of the stage exceeds 400 tons, and the roof spans 24 meters. More than 900 light games will color the Cluj-Arena stadium during all the days and nights of the festival. All the energy used on the mainstage comes from renewable sources.

Top production specialists are working to create all the stages. Chris is the Production Manager for the UNTOLD mainstage and has 24 years of experience in the field. He works with the biggest events and festivals worldwide, and for 17 years, he has toured with Metallica, Rammstein, Britney Spears, Madonna, and Rihanna. Thiago is one of its core people with experience to match – Production Manager for Tiesto, Stage Manager at Expo Dubai, and many other events and festivals worldwide.

Galaxy, the techno house of the UNTOLD festival, is a stage where the scenery is constantly changing thanks to the video-mapping projection. The Martinez Brothers link up with Leven Kali & Scott Storch on new track ‘Just A Feeling’

The Martinez Brothers have joined forces with LA based R&B singer-songwriter Leven Kali and legendary producer Scott Storch, on new single ‘Just A Feeling’, out 29th July.

A smooth, groove-laden club jam, ‘Just A Feeling‘ pairs slick grooves with Leven’s hypnotic vocals. It follows May’s hit release ‘Rizzla‘ featuring Drake collaborator Gordo and Nigeria’s Afrobeat prince Rema. The pair are also in the midst of their first ever headline Ibiza residency at Hï ibiza, with the likes of Honey Dijon, Loco Dice, Kerri Chandler, Carl Craig and Louie Vega joining them over its four-month duration.

“Just A Feeling is a super special track for us.” The Martinez Brothers explained. “It features vocals by the super talented Leven Kali and keys by one of the GOATS Scott Storch. A track born from the weird world we were in just 1 year ago, the song talks about how we shouldn’t let bad times get us down. We all go through things, but we don’t have to hold onto those moments. Keep your head up always and try and have as much fun as you can in this life.”

Two of the most consistent and recognisable names in the world of house and techno, The Martinez Brothers were introduced to disco and house music by their father from a young age. While known for producing lean and effective club records, from their break out ‘H2 Da Izzo‘ in 2012 to their 2019 ‘SaintLaurentYSL‘ remix, their 2020 foray into Latin pop with Rauw Alejandro, Zion & Lennox and Mr. Naisgai on ‘Química‘ shows their capacity to navigate effortlessly between underground and pop.

Leven Kali is a singer, songwriter and producer from Santa Monica, California. Born in Holland, and raised in SoCal, his sound reflects the many different cultures and backgrounds that make up his personal identity.

Scott Storch‘s knack for laying down dazzling keyboard lines led to a burgeoning career as a musically blessed producer by the early 2000s, after aligning himself with production duties for high-profile rappers such as Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes.

Tapping into a fresh and exciting sound, The Martinez Brothers continue their run of cutting-edge collaborative single releases.

Worakls remixes Armin van Buuren’s ‘One More Time’

Worakls, famous for his countless electro-melodic releases and his vibrant live shows, is set to kick off his latest live tour of North America this weekend at Osheaga in Montreal and Superior Ingredients in Brooklyn. The month of August is packed with additional shows in cities including Los Angeles, Dallas, Denver, San Diego, Toronto, Oakland, and Boston, while closing out at Elements Festival in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.

Coinciding with the launch of the tour is the release of Worakls‘ unique remix of Superstar Dutch record producer and trance icon Armin van Buuren’s ‘One More Time.’ Notable here is Worakls‘ entirely new arrangement as he transforms the anthem into a grittier French house and electro-inspired dance floor stormer.

A composer above all, Worakls writes with the orchestra in mind and presents his music only in a live context, not as a DJ set. In fact, the artist has also embarked on full orchestra tours where he is personally conducting the live orchestra and is writing out the musical notes for each instrument.

While the North American Summer Tour will not feature the full orchestra experience (Worakls is hoping to bring this over soon), the tour will still be live and highly improvisational. Those in attendance will experience live interpretations of music throughout the artist’s career.

Elsewhere, Worakls single ‘Salzburg’ was recently certified gold at CNM 2021 Export, while the single ‘Adagio for Square’ is included on the soundtrack for the Netflix TV Show ‘XOXO.’ Last but not least, be on the lookout for Worakls’ next original single, “Pipeline,” which is released on August 18. Fans will be delighted by this powerful single, a dramatic but optimistic track with a heady melody.

Alan Fitzpatrick

Whenever Alan Fitzpatrick and Reset Robot share song credits, the electronic music realm is on the receiving end of an indomitable techno banger.

Touching down on Armada Music for their joint label debut, the longtime collaborators deliver a hypnotic techno record that will surely push the crowd to its limits.

Partially rooted in ’90s trance, ‘Lotus‘ symbolizes the blooming U.K. techno scene. Setting the mood with sweeping pads, adamant kick drums and a persistent bassline that keeps listeners in a club-centric state of mind, ‘Lotus‘ is powerful, pure and a must-play in every late-night DJ set.

“We wrote a large chunk of this track at the Devon Analogue Studios”, Alan Fitzpatrick says. “We wanted to capture the free spirit and energy of some of our late ’90s, early-noughties trance influences, all the while adding a more techno drive to the track.”

RÜFÜS DU SOL announce the forthcoming release of their new curation project, “Surrender Remixes” with Adriatique remix

Adriatique

Grammy winning live electronic trio James Hunt, Tyrone Lindqvist and Jon George aka RÜFÜS DU SOL announce the forthcoming release of their new curation project, “Surrender Remixes”.

Set for release on 12th August via their imprint Rose Ave/Reprise and Warner Records, the band have enlisted a heavyweight assembly of world-class production talent, and friends and peers from across the spectrum of the electronic underground, to reimagine their landmark fourth studio album, “Surrender“.

Released in October 2021 and featuring Grammy-winning single ‘Alive‘, “Surrender” was written in the band’s studio in Hollywood. Citing Nine Inch Nails, Moderat and Radiohead as just a few of the myriad and eclectic sonic influences informing their production techniques on the record, the result was bold, brave and their most celebrated release to date. The LP has already been streamed over 1.5BN times, premiering as the #4 most popular album on Spotify in the US and #6 globally and #1 dance album on iTunes and Apple Music.

The first drop from the fourteen track “Surrender Remixes” released on 29th July, comes from Swiss production duo and CircoLoco residents Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizr aka Adriatique. The duo step up to remix “On My Knees“, one of the standout moments from the album – a brooding insight into RÜFÜS DU SOL‘s darker tendencies, which toys with honest emotions and aching lyricism, demonstrating what makes the band so unique in the electronic space. Adriatique‘s remix is typically intricate, reflecting the duo’s trademark sets; long and meditative, with a relentlessly hypnotic groove throughout.

The greater project features cuts from Istanbul’s hotly-tipped selector Carlita, Diymanic head-honcho Solomun and label mainstay Magdalena, the band’s longtime collaborator, Rose Ave label-mate and mix engineer Cassian and fellow Australian production talent Dom Dolla. Tale of Us‘s Anyma steps up to remix the band’s track “Alive“, which won the band their first Grammy last year, along with stellar reworks from Afterlife resident Colyn, AnjunaDeep‘s Monkey Safari, Adana Twins and more.

In this landmark year which has seen so many return to touring, RÜFÜS DU SOL have played a string of critically lauded and momentous live shows, including two recent sold out shows at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium. This July and August the band are heading back to their underground roots to play a select string of sets in some of clubland’s most coveted and notorious dancefloor slots – including DC10 for CircoLoco, Hi Ibiza for Afterlife opening an Scorpios Mykonos. Earlier this year the band also curated their own festival experience Sundream Tulum which saw them combine their live shows and DJ sets and invite some of the compilation collaborators – Magdalena, Carlita and Cassian – to join them in sublime Mexico settings. The band’s stacked summer schedule of shows will be a prime opportunity to unleash the full remix package next month.
