Storied Icelandic group GusGus return with ‘Love Is Alone,’ the fourth and final single ahead of GusGus’ forthcoming album Mobile Home, to be released on May 28th. In tandem with the single, the trio is thrilled to share two club-ready remixes of “Higher” and “Stay The Ride” from band member Biggi Veira and a scorching techno rework of “Our World” courtesy of close friend and rave royalty Bjarki.
Ahead of the release of Mobile Home, GusGus has teamed up with premium digital live platform Moment House for their debut live stream performance. The concert will be broadcast from Sigur Rós‘ legendary studio Sundlaugin on May 29th. ‘Love Is Alone‘ and the three new remixes are available on all streaming platforms today via GusGus’ imprint Oroom.
Before GusGus’ 11th studio album Mobile Home arrives in late May, ‘Love Is Alone‘ offers fans another taste of the record ahead of its highly anticipated release. On the latest single, Daniel Agust and longtime collaborator John Grant floats over the patient synth groove with ease. Meanwhile, the production blends abrasive melodies with a pop-centric mindset and experimental drum work, making for an intriguing listening experience.
The EP moves forward into the first of two remixes from GusGusmember Biggi Veira, ‘Stay The Ride (Natty dub).’ Veira‘s mix utilizes the original’s vocals and immediately recognizable synths, but shifts towards a smooth organic house dub feel for the summer. Veria’s second offering to the EP, ‘Higher (Nasty dUb),’ is a sharp contrast to the warm tones of its predecessor. Written with out-of-control raves in mind, Veira’s “Nasty dUb” is a techno hammer meant to ignite dancefloors.
‘Higher (Nasty dUb)’ has already received heavy rotation from club and radio DJs, and now this club weapon sees the official release it deserves. The band also called upon Icelandic electronic shapeshifter Bjarki to inject his club-crushing, blistering sound into “Our World“.

Following their first collaboration on “Adrenaline” for Amelie’s Exhale Records compilation late last year, Belgium’s Techno luminary and French dynamo AIROD will release a 4 track “Raver’s Heart EP” with Amelie on her label Lenske Records.
After their first collaboration held the top spot in the Beatport charts for weeks after release, it’s clear that Amelie & AIROD‘s productions are the outcome of a powerful synergy between two of Techno’s finest producers.
The record opens with a blistering kick drum and unrelenting snares in “Join Us“. A 303 laced with dense industrial distortions drives the bass line before any effects are stripped back, allowing the acid sound of the 303 to pierce through. Stabbing synthesizer keys create a trancey & fast paced melody, while Amelie‘s voice swirls in and out whispering mischievous commands.
Title track “Raver’s Heart” steps up next, opening with a hurried percussion that creates an overwhelming intensity from the offset. Amelie‘s voice echoes ‘they can never stop us’, which is chopped up and layered upon itself before submerging into the bass line. A squelching synth briefly takes over before industrial elements and the iterated vocal surge back in to command the listener.
Constituting a classic Amelie x AIROD sound on the flip side is “Escape“, with rumbling synths and belting kick drums that tauntingly build energy and anticipation. Claps ring out and snapping hi-hats join the sonic storm. Celestial keys chime gently over the building percussion, until a powerful synth melody takes charge and drives the track towards the finish.
The EP closes with peak time roller “Space Program“, a slower but brooding techno cut that employs an omnipresent kick drum to drive through the interstellar soundscape. The track splices its rolling bass with scattered minor keys, while hi-hats, cymbals and snares crash furiously around bellowing synth chords.
The 4 track EP is set for release on May 28th on Amelie‘s Lenske Records

With his exceptional artistry, he has finally released his long-anticipated track “Soul Grabber” on popular streaming platforms, causing a stir in the industry. The EP retains a consistent rhythmic flow thanks to masterful harmonic patterns.
Luca Draccar, a gifted music artist, developed a strong interest in music-making at a young age after getting his first Macintosh computer. The melodic structure of electronic music captivated him and unlocked the door to a whole new world in front of him.
He gains much of his knowledge from his own life experiences and emotions. As a result, his music is very authentic, forming a strong mental bond with the audience.

World-renowned Techno DJ and producer UMEK is the latest music artist to announce an NFT drop. His will be unique, as he is the first ever to offer a live performance NFT.
The historic release is organized in partnership with the Blockparty digital marketplace and the music research and analytics platform Viberate, which will be verifying the drop.
Starting on April 29 and running for 24 hours, UMEK‘s offer on the Blockparty marketplace will include five different NFTs: three exclusive remixes of his seminal 1999 track “Lanicor“, one livestream performance, and one live gig. The buyers of UMEK‘s NFT will thus either purchase the rights to one of his original remixes, book him for an exclusive online event, or book him for a real-life live performance.
UMEK sees the drop as a new possibility for music artists to secure live gigs in the future. “I’ve been actively involved in the crypto scene for the last couple of years, especially as Viberate, the music research and analytics platform I co-founded, also includes blockchain technology.
I was definitely inspired by NFTs and all the creative ways other artists went about them, so I developed my own concept: booking live gigs through NFTs. We’re all painfully aware that live events are returning very slowly, so this could be an opportunity for any artist, big or small, to make sure they have a booking waiting for them once live gigs are back in the picture.”
Several music artists, such as Grimes, Steve Aoki, Kygo, Don Diablo and Kings of Leon, have already made waves selling their NFTs, either as albums, VIP tickets, digital art or other concepts. UMEK‘s upcoming drop is the first to explore new possibilities for music artists to secure their bookings, no matter whether they’re backed by major labels or working independently. If the concept proves to be successful, Viberate plans on providing their unique verification and token-minting services to hundreds of thousands of artists in their database.
UMEK‘s NFT drop will launch on Blockparty on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 8:00 pm GMT+1 (3:00 pm EST).
With “Boom Boom” MOUNT, Emdey and Alessia Labate present their brand new collaboration.
From “Tic Tic Tic Tic Boom” to “Boom Boom Boom I Want You In My Room”. The words “boom”, “boom boom” or even “boom boom boom” could not be avoided in the musical world of the 90s and 2000s. Superstars such as Will Smith, The Hives, The Vengaboys and many more archived global hits with this simple phrase. But how about another boom in 2021?
The Austrian super-talented Dance / House DJ and producer MOUNT, whose debut track “Something Good” was chosen by Pete Tong as the essential track for his BBC1 radio show, has asked himself this question. He traveled across the globe digitally to find an answer. Song writing session in New York, mixdown nights in Hannover, vocal recordings in Milan and all that without leaving your own four walls. Welcome to 2021.
The collaboration between MOUNT, Emdey and Alessia Labate is a contemporary comeback of one of the most influential word combinations in the history of electronic pop music – Boom Boom!
Damian Lazarus and Crosstown Rebels are having a special edition stream on the day (May 1 at 5am EST/11am CET), featuring artists like Jennifer Cardini, Tijana T, Junior Sanchez, Bushwacka, and Get Lost favorites like Francesca Lombardo, Darius Syrossian, Yulia Niko, and Emanuel Satie.
This May Day, rather than swim in sadness, Lazarus invites us to recall the moments prior to the pandemic, those 14 glorious Miami sessions, that traversed day to night and back again, where careers were born, memories made, friendships formed, spaces shared and where we were all invited to Get Lost together.
Kicking off at 5am EST on May 1, the traditional start time for Miami’s Get Lost, Crosstown Rebels will take over Beatport’s broadcast channels for a 24 hour session with a stellar cast of DJs, befitting the curatorial wizardry of one of dance music’s larger than life imprints and characters.
Damian Lazarus comments: “Get Lost Miami was one of the first parties to be cancelled due to the pandemic back in March 2020. As we entered this year it was clear that we would have to postpone again, and so a 24 hour live stream featuring some of the freshest DJs in our family, plus some legendary heroes felt like the right thing to do.
We’re endeavouring to give people a taste of the deep and trippy vibes that we’ve all been missing on the dancefloor, but reconstructed now for the screen. May Day has always been a day of rave and we hope you enjoy the journey we are about to Get Lost in.”
Techno DJ and producer, Recondite, a long-time friend of Tale of Us’ Afterlife record label, returns for an introspective outing.
The German artist has a storied history with Afterlife, appearing on the early Realm Of Consciousness compilations and releasing the Rainmaker EP back in 2018, as well as numerous performances at Afterlife events all over the world.
With the Bird EP he presents two tracks with contrasting themes that complement each other, demonstrating his technical ability and emotional intelligence.
Title track ‘Bird‘ explores the notion of freedom through sonic transcendence, offering hope and optimism with its gentle melodies and subtle euphoria.
Recondite
‘Secluded‘ takes the opposite approach, exploring the inner conflict sparked by isolation and living in confinement. Taut beats and brooding melancholy underpin this cut, with a solemn repetitive riff adding emotive urgency.
