Benny Benassi partners with bloom twins for ‘Daydream’

Following on from his release Sugar alongside Domino last month, Benny Benassi returns with yet another stellar collab on DayDream, with London-based dark-pop duo, Bloom Twins – out on Ultra Records.

With what’s already been a huge year for Grammy Award winning Benny Benassi in terms of releases, Benny’s career appears to see no sign of slowing down since his explosion onto the scene with his #1 hit, Satisfaction over sixteen years ago.

Meanwhile, the Bloom Twins, who have been making waves in both the fashion and music scenes, are yet another welcome addition to Benny’s catalogue of collaborations. Having initially found success on MTV and the BBC, the Bloom Twins quickly became ones-to-watch in the dark pop world, with their infectious melodies, unique (but identical) looks, and their ability as classically trained multi-instrumentalists.

The accolades between these artists are endless. Speaking about their latest venture Bloom Twins said:

We started writing this track on our first visit to LA, just before the world went into lockdown, and then sent it to Benny late last year. That was a DM that turned our quarantine from restricting to mind-blowing!

We love what he has done to the song in terms of production and arrangement, and couldn’t be more excited to have this be our first release of 2021. It’s an honor to work with someone of his iconic stature – and we look forward to playing it out as things open up.

Benny Benassi added:

When I first received this tune from Bloom Twins I instantly liked its vibe and I thought it could become something special. With my team, I started playing around with our synths to see if it would fit in my musical world. I really really love the atmosphere that we managed to create – it’s a perfect union of our two styles.

Now releasing on the esteemed Ultra Recordings, Benny Benassi and Bloom Twins unite for a dark pop weapon. Featuring Benny’s impeccable production skills coupled with mesmerizing vocal hooks from the Bloom Twins, DayDream will make you do just that as you get lost in the track.

Moonwalk make Purified Records debut with two-track ‘Rapture’ ep

via Purified Records

Following their unforgettable performances at Purified events in New York and Prague, Italian duo Moonwalk make their momentous label debut with their two-track ‘Rapture’ EP.

Embarking on a sonic voyage, the title track encapsulates the essence of their live shows across its 7-minute duration. Evolving across a dark rumbling bassline, the duo flaunt their musical finesse, devising an otherworldly soundscape with cosmic synths and distorted vocals.

Diving into ‘When You’re Gone’, Moonwalk’s brooding B-side is a slow-burning creation, which allows the listener to get lost in a vast atmosphere before taking control with entrancing melodies and celestial sounds.

Delving deep into the Neapolitan scene in their formative years, Moonwalk have become renowned for their outstanding blend of melodic techno. Cutting their teeth in their hometown’s underground clubs, Dario and Mauro began channeling their dancefloor moments into their early releases. Touring Europe and growing their fan base, they began releasing on some of the industry’s most revered imprints, including Definition, Stil vor Talent and Kitball Records.

No strangers to the Beatport Charts, Moonwalk have gone onto release on the likes of Get Physical, Knee Deep In Sound and Diynamic Music, as well as receiving support from industry heavyweights Carl Cox, Marco Carola, Kölsch, Pete Tong and many more. Making their Purified Records debut, Moonwalk continue to leave their indelible mark with their out of this world creations.

Oliver Heldens unleashes electric banger ‘Zapdos’

Oliver Heldens

Superstar DJ and producer, Oliver Heldens returns with his second release of 2020, with the fiery ‘Zapdos’ out now via Heldeep Records.

Inspired by the original legendary Pokémon, the instrumental club track displays the global DJ/producers diversity once again. The eponymous creature was based on a mythical phoenix always surrounded by lightning and thunder, which impeccably portrays the feel of this club-ready track.

Subtle percussive elements punctuate the rhythm as a brooding synth bass hovers in the background menacingly. Ride cymbals are combined with electrifying hi-hats, setting pulses racing and spines tingling blissfully into the abyss, propelling us to the drop. As the chorus is about to hit, percussive rhythms are added as the arp filters into clarity boosting the track with energy and creating a surprisingly full sound from just a few elements.

The contrast between the big, swirling chords and the alluring and upbeat keys send ‘Zapdos‘ soaring higher. The instrumental masterpiece will undoubtedly be the novelty hit of the summer.

It was also revealed yesterday, Oliver will host a headline show during Amsterdam Dance Event on October 13th at Melkweg.

Franky Wah releases ‘Not In Love’ ft LOWES

Franky Wah

Franky Wah and LOWES team up on the distinguished and alluring new single ‘Not In Love’, released via Ministry of Sound on 26th March 2021. The major dance music up-and-comer also announces a string of live UK headline dates for October.

As Franky Wah continues to further plot his course within the realms of a deep sonic space, ‘Not In Love‘ is the next chapter in his voyage, and one that has been blessed with the hypnotic vocals of LOWES.

The singer provides the perfect accompaniment to Franky Wah‘s raw but euphoric production, rendering the final product as one of pure refinement and quality. ‘Not In Love‘ is a true manifestation of the quintessential dance sound that Franky Wah is rapidly growing to be associated with.

On the record’s inspiration and processes, Franky mused:

The making of this track has been a process that has taken nearly a year as I really believed that this was a special record and was quite selective about vocal styles. Lowes hit me up with some amazing vocal ideas but they weren’t quite right for this one so we all spent some time going back and forth and a few weeks later I received the take that you’re hearing now. There was no tweaking, no amendments, it just had it all for me.

Once again Franky Wah delivers a profound composition with all the dancefloor potency you’d come to expect from Ministry of Sound, with the sophistication of a producer years his senior.

Patrice Bäumel handles AVIRA with care on remix of Canadian’s ‘The Worship’

Patrice Bäumel
Patrice Bäumel

Drilling down into the original’s emotional aspect with subtle, lingering chords and poised beats pushing feelings on, Amsterdam-based Patrice Bäumel gives AVIRA’s dusky ‘The Worship’ even more resonance.

In many ways a lighter remix, Bäumel extends the feeling of shelter and solitude, stood between assurance and uncertainty and with a fragile, film-like edge. Bäumel’s handling of Diana Miro‘s reflective vocals make for a cool club lullaby and pause for thought when the sun comes up.

A track close to his heart, AVIRA decided to celebrate the one year anniversary of ‘The Worship‘ by asking some of his favourite producers to give it their special touch, with Bäumel high on his list of well-wishers.

When I heard this remix by Patrice I fell in love with the way he brought a calm, uplifting twist to the track. It’s going to be a fantastic addition to any set“.

Canadian producer AVIRA debuted on Armada Music with a remix of Push‘s ‘Strange World‘, going on to deliver remixes for Chicane (‘Saltwater‘), Lost Frequencies (‘Beat Of My Heart‘) and Dennis Kruissen (‘Falling In Love‘), before collaborating with Armin van Buuren on the three-track EP ‘Hollow / Illusion / Mask‘. Upon release in 2020, ‘The Worship‘ hit the Apple Music charts in 32 countries and received heavy support from van Buuren, Hardwell, NERVO, Cosmic Gate and many more.

The rise and rise of Patrice Bäumel, calling Amsterdam home after many a night spent on the capital’s dancefloors, has lead to him becoming a Beatport chart topper and international top flight DJ. Producer for a host of top tier labels, he’s received support from Pete Tong and Danny Tenaglia, and become an in-demand remixer, with a diverse cross-section of Sasha, Booka Shade, Marc Romboy and Depeche Mode among those receiving his attention to detail.

Lyke announces his 3-track ‘Stay With Me’ EP

On an upward trajectory at breakneck speed, Italian vocalist and producer Lyke has become one of the most sought-after names in electronic music over the past few years. Following his Armada Music debut ‘AROSE’, Lyke announces his 3-track ‘Stay With Me’ EP, with the lead single and title track out now via Armada Electronic Elements.

Crafting a gentle soundscape with airy synths and delicate piano chords, Lyke paves the way for his distinctive vocals and a hypnotic bassline. Perfectly intertwining atmospheric textures with his alluring voice, ‘Stay With Me‘ is an emotionally stirring and addictive cut that will have listeners playing on repeat.

Speaking about the release, Lyke said:

“‘Stay With Me’ is the launch single of my first EP, the track to which the project owes its name. It’s the true track par excellence, at least for two different reasons. From a technical point of view, I wanted to preserve the atmosphere of the first performances in acoustic piano, then inserting shimmering synths and drum that maintain the naturalness of the piano, which is flanked by the voice, definitely the protagonist of the single. Even more intimate are the existential reasons of the track.

There is a strong desire for elsewhere and escape both in the text and in the tone of my voice, a desire that almost acts as an emotional backlash to the recent death of my father, to whom I dedicate the piece. If in fact we are no longer given the opportunity to share times and places with the people we love, abandon ourselves to the dream to create other spaces in which to see each other becomes a necessity.

Lyke Stay With Me

With his inimitable voice, Lyke has an almighty ability to fill music with depth and raw emotion. Gaining global recognition for his role in Mathame‘s international hit ‘Nothing Around Us‘, Lyke has founded his career on authenticity and classical sensibilities.

Fusing techno elements alongside other electronic influences, his Armada Music debut ‘AROSE‘ began a new chapter in the young producer’s career, and set the tone for his forthcoming debut EP, set for release on April 16, 2021.
