Tomorrowland Winter will make its long-anticipated return in 2022

Tomorrowland Winter

Our favorite dance music festival Tomorrowland, will make its long-anticipated return to the beautiful French ski resort of Alpe d’Huez for the second edition of Tomorrowland Winter in 2022.

The second edition of Tomorrowland Winter with the magical theme “The Book of Wisdom – The Frozen Chapter” was canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to organize a festival in Alpe d’Huez this year either, but the hard-working team behind Tomorrowland is convinced that this will be possible again next winter.

After a 2-year break, the breathtaking festival will return in France from March 19-26, 2022 to organize the ultimate musical winter sports holiday – gathering the world’s best DJs and producers in the village and on the mountains at its dazzling stages, which Tomorrowland is renowned for all around the world.

Tomorrowland Winter 2022

As a tribute to this year’s Tomorrowland Winter, which cannot take place due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Tomorrowland will air a 2,5-hour long show with spectacular views of Alpe d’Huez and the surrounding mountains on Thursday March 25 at 16:00 CET just for your listening pleasure!

Superstar artists such as Martin Solveig x Kungs, Klingande and Ofenbach will each deliver an exclusive performance at a stunning altitude of more than 2,100 meters.

In 2019, Tomorrowland organized a very successful first ever edition of Tomorrowland Winter, bringing the entire world to Alpe d’Huez with festivalgoers from more than 90 different countries. The festival’s inaugural outing in France debuted with an impressive stage production set up in the heart of the village and throughout the entire ski area, featuring more than 100 performances from the likes of Armin van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix and Paul Kalkbrenner.

Each one of the stages was custom designed with a scale and style to blow visitors away, setting a record with the most magnificent stages of their kind ever built and constructed at such elevations in the mountains. The highest stage was located on Le Pic Blanc, the highest point of the Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine Ski at a breathtaking 3,300 meters above sea level, overlooking the entire resort.

From the slopes to the stages – the result was a fabulous winter wonderland nestled in the French Alps, reaching a new and highly international audience for their first visit to Alpe d’Huez. Located in the heart of the French Alps, the Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine Ski is the gateway to an outstanding skiing area, boasting 250 kilometers of slopes and 300 days of sunshine a year – ranked among the top-rated ski resorts in the world. At Tomorrowland Winter 2022, there will also be plenty to do for non-skiers, offering visitors all kinds of winter snow activities that don’t involve skiing or snowboarding.

Mark your calendars and book your tickets because you won’t want to miss this one!

DIRTYBIRD Unveils 2021 CampINN Lineup

Prepare for a weekend of outrageous fun and poolside boogies just steps away from hotel room lodging, soundtracked by world class talent.

CampINN’s Bird Bath stage will host pioneering house talent who will provide a masterclass of the genre—beginning with one of its founding fathers from Chicago, Derrick Carter.

Also representing house’s birthplace is Farris Wheel boss and fellow stalwart, Gene Farris. Blending in with these longtime veterans are next generation leaders like Detroit’s DJ Holographic, and Desert Hearts founder Mikey Lion— along with Pillowtalk, Treasure Fingers, Two Tails, Nasser Baker, Nala, Codes, Lenny Kiser, Robot Love, and LA newcomers Danny Goliger and PZB Live.

Soul Clap will provide a healthy dose of funk and disco to the mix, while Lights Down Low’s Richie Panic adds an additional left field touch to the bill.

Those more into the heavier side of dance music will be covered as well, per DIRTYBIRD weekender tradition. Claude VonStroke will be leading the global bass charge under his Barclay Crenshaw alter ego, where Miami hip-hop legends 2 Live Crew, Grammy nominee TOKiMONSTA, Detroit bellwether DJ Godfather, and Holy Ship! favorite, Subset join him in bringing a taste of the Bass Lodge to Orlando.

Label newcomer E.R.N.E.S.T.O and DIRTYBIRD LIVE TV resident Victoria Rawlins make their official event debut, while Mr. Carmack and Tsuruda, round out the cast of low-end purveyors.

Of course, one can’t stage a CampINN without DIRTYBIRD’s most familiar faces. Walker & Royce, Ardalan, and VNSSA will be making the journey East, serving up eclectic slices of house and tech.

Lubelski will bring a taste of minimal to the mix alongside Wyatt Marshalli. Finally, expect Shiba San, Worthy, DJ E-Clyps, Gettoblaster, Bruno Furlan, DJ Glen, and Florida’s Black V Neck to deliver the quintessential DIRTYBIRD sound to the decks for a lively performance. Stay tuned for special performances to be hosted at the after hours’ stages Flip Side and Lava Lab going ‘til 6am through Monday morning.

CampINN guests will be split into three groups: Gator Squad, Flamingo Fam, and Scuba Squad. Friends and teammates will be assigned their own sections of the dancefloor, where they can enjoy an intimate festival experience while plotting their gametime domination.

Claude’s Cove will host staples like the Great Bingo Revival, along with a vibrant crafting session with Tiedye Ky, live comedy, the Florida Man’s Game Show, and the fan favorite talent show. Of course, DIRTYBIRD will additionally be taking full advantage of the Avanti Palms’ colossal pool, hosting an array of aquatic games like float races, obstacle courses, and more.

CampINN pairs the fun and frivolity of Campout with the convenience of a resort for a truly unique experience. A full takeover promises a particularly close knit communal atmosphere, where all in attendance are bound by their love for DIRTYBIRD and top notch dance music. Guests only have to take a brief stroll to the dancefloor from their rooms, enjoying easy access to all the creature comforts that a luxury hotel provides.

Renaissance signings Forgotten Notes release powerful ‘Resurrect’ EP

In an age and industry obsessed with pigeon-holing musical genres, it’s always refreshing when something new comes along.

And you don’t forget those moments easily; when the Renaissance A&R department heard Forgotten Notes first demo early last year, they were taken by both the uniqueness of sound and quality of production. We think they’re a very exciting prospect indeed.

Now, intrepid Swiss duo Ron and Erhan aka Forgotten Notes return with the ‘Resurrect EP’ on Renaissance, which comprises a trilogy of tracks that further highlights their scope and ability.

Whether title record ‘Resurrect’ with its powerful groove and amazingly original, tempo-switching breakdown; the deep house shimmer of ‘Celestial’ or the melodic techno ascent of ‘Radiance’, this is an EP that is as beautiful as it is varied.

You can hear the time and effort that has gone into the project as the guys explain:

We deliberately did three differing tracks. It’s important to us that we connect with our listeners and, as music is so subjective, we cast a diverse net. The trick was to keep it cohesive though, each track may be very different, but our goal was to retain a consistent vibe throughout.

The package is completed by another new Renaissance signing – Loew. Fresh from his breakout success with a bootleg of Leftfield’s ‘Not Forgotten’, he kick-starts his Renaissance relationship with a hair-raising take on ‘Celestial’.

His interpretation is a full-on, end-of-set, atmospheric breaks stormer. By adding a vocal and bringing out the track’s central piano riff he delivers something very special indeed and sets the bar for an exciting future.

Expect to hear more from him on the label later this year…

Drumcode Festival Malta confirms new line-up additions & increased capacity

With the six-month countdown on till Drumcode Festival Malta, the team is excited to announce 11 DJ additions to the line-up, two new stages and more hotel capacity, as they look forward to welcoming more fans and friends to the sun-drenched Mediterranean island from 16—19 September, 2021.

Kölsch makes his Drumcode event debut, having minted a label debut in late 2019 with a sublime remix of the Adam Beyer classic ‘What You Need‘. Likewise, Drumcode Festival Malta is excited to welcome Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann to play his inaugural Drumcode party, having long shared line-ups with Beyer. Joris Voorn is a superlative DJ and returns to the fold after a terrific set at the 2019 festival in Amsterdam.

Championing a kinetic brand of techno and electro, Anastasia Kristensen has emerged as one of the scene’s most thrilling DJs in recent years and we’re buzzed she’ll make her DC event debut this summer.

Long-time label associates Dense & Pika bring their industrial-charged energy to the island. Emerging talents Sandra Mosh — a recent debutant on DCLTD — and the hotly tipped Clara Cuvé also join, bringing a heady brand of techno to Malta.

Part of the new crop of artists contributing quality music to the label, Oscar L, Timmo and Jay Lumen make richly deserved additions. Rounding out the phase two line-up announcement is Drumcode treasure and all-round techno luminary Cari Lekebusch who’s been dishing out techno masterclasses for 25+ years.

These DJs make up the 50+ artists from the Drumcode family and beyond who will play the four-day event headlined by Adam Beyer, who’s invited the cream of the world’s techno crop to join him.

This includes Richie Hawtin, Kevin Saunderson‘s legendary E-Dancer project, Ben Klock, Maceo Plex, ANNA, Monika Kruse, Chris Liebing, Bart Skills, Layton Giordani, Wehbba Live Station and many more over eight stages.

Outside the regular festival programming, they’ll be taking over the island with boat and hotel parties scheduled throughout the four days, culminating in the most comprehensive and unique Drumcode event to date.

Deposits start at 10€ and total price for the festival starts from 249€ including accommodation. It goes without saying; this event will sell out. Grab your ticket here!

Tomorrowland is returning on top of the French Alps for a magical winter show

In honor of this year’s Tomorrowland Winter, which cannot take place due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the world’s best dance music festival, Tomorrowland is returning to the beautiful surroundings of the French mountains.

On Thursday March 25, the world-renowned festival will turn the breathtaking ski resort of Alpe d’Huez into a stunning concert venue for a magical winter wonderland show on top of the French Alps.

Featuring an all-French line-up, Martin Solveig x Kungs (unique b2b set for the first time ever), Klingande and Ofenbach will all deliver an exclusive performance – at a dazzling altitude of more than 2,100 meters – with spectacular views of Alpe d’Huez and the surrounding mountains. The 2,5 hour-long show will air on Thursday March 25 at 16:00 CET, exclusively on Tomorrowland’s official website.

Here’s what French dance legend Martin Solveig had to say about the event:

The COVID-19 pandemic made us realize how precious small things are. We’re on top of the world here at Alpe d’Huez and feel very lucky to be part of this. It’s our first time playing a b2b set together, really exciting!”

French young prodigy Kungs added:

“I’m working on a lot of new music at the moment. The vibe of the album I’m working on is really happy and positive. I think I’ll release a couple of tracks before summer and then an album afterwards. I’m going to play one track during our set, it’s called ‘Regarde moi’. I hope the people will like it!

French tropical house producer Klingande continues:

I’m blessed with the perfect set time – sunset. This goes perfect with my music. I didn’t get to travel since a year now and I haven’t played in so long, so I’m very excited. It’s great to create, but it’s definitely great to perform as well.

Tune in to the Tribute to Tomorrowland Winter on Thursday March 25 at 16:00 CET, exclusively via the link.
