Lost Frequencies readies feel-good empowerment on ‘Rise’

Lost Frequencies

After a monumental 2020 that saw Lost Frequencies release a brand new EP, ‘Cup Of Beats’, aswell as his Royal invitation to perform from the rooftop of the Royal Palace in Brussels, a huge feat for any artist after an invitation from His Royal Highness in their home country, he now readies his debut SONY Music release with ‘Rise’!

Leading on from being a multi-billion-streamed artist, with the worldwide phenomenon’s ‘Are You With Me’, ‘Like I Love You’, ‘Reality’ and more, well within in their million-triple-figures, one of Belgium’s best exports set his sights on new heights…

Taking on a sound that cultivates itself as a known ‘Lost Frequencies‘ track, thanks to echoing guitar strums and a soaring, emotive vocal, yet spun into a 2021 idea with its far-reaching, high-up take, the introductory “It’s been a hard year” topline simmers to permeate the listener with its hook.

As the vocal-driven melody eases along before exploding “Gonna make my way right through the clouds / I rise” as a triumphant direction, motioning to the feel-good ethos we need right now, ‘Rise‘ is stood in stead to take the reigns for a Lost Frequencies fresh, 2021 introduction.

Lost Frequencies has also stood tall as a solo artist, with his streaming numbers and dot-to-dot of live gigs proving so, such as performances on the Tomorrowland and EXIT Festival mainstages as he was honoured the “most booked festival artist of 2019”, beating the likes of The 1975, aswell a slew of sell out headline tours, proving his dexterity between both his DJ sets and working in tandem with his ‘Lost Frequencies Live’ performances including a full live band that have spanned The USA, Europe and beyond.

Also remixing names including LSD (Labyrinth, Sia, Diplo), Miley Cyrus, Ellie Goulding and many more, from weathering the storm, to becoming the lightning, get set for Lost Frequencies powerful solo release ‘Rise’, out now via Sony Music.

Jeff Eveline delivers his powerhouse 3-track EP “My Fandango”

Stop what you’re doing because you’ll really want to hear this one! Swoon recordings reinforces their international presence in 2021 with an amazing EP titled ‘My Fandango’ from super-talented DJ and producer, Jeff Eveline.

My Fandango’ explores dramatic yet smooth melodies with dark drum fills and enticing vocals. Jelico steps up for remix duties, emphasizing the thick bass lines and adding energy to the mid and hi range creating a fitting dance floor groover.

The second track from Eveline, ‘Wandering Gas’ delivers a sultry yet mysterious follow up with indistinct vocals and grainy effects leaving the listener captivated.

Jeff Eveline My Fandango EP

Here’s what Jeff had to say about his brand new EP “My Fandango“:

“The story behind “My Fandango” is about a tangled love relationship. She’s a young black woman who lives her life and feelings with frustration, in a sort of upside-down world. Something like a spinning life in a coin laundry.

Also, people be judging her for the color of her skin, and that makes her feel more uncomfortable than ever, but out of all of this drama, she be experiencing new sights of joy thanks to her passion for dancing. The music takes her body and mind into a fictional reality where she rides her wave to become a queen, as she deserves.

I always wanted to reflect my fictitious warped thoughts in what I’m playing. My main focus to accomplish is to create a new way of tasting the dance floor, letting people overflow their feelings on long and vague tracks, composed with shadowy storyboarding.

That’s why ‘My fandango’ is held together by hazy arpeggiators from 90s techno, dark-scale kaleidoscope pads, ghostly Arabian flutes playing a stunning psychedelic harmony, where vocals sit all over shattered with reverb and AutoTune, so they echo like the surreal visuals of an LSD trip.

The song contains zero choruses, nothing like a traditional hook, it’s a melancholy lullaby repeating on a loop. A dewy-eyed, narcotized mix of spleen and hedonism, about chasing vanishing thrills in a futuristic appointed dome. I think the ‘key note’ is to be able to stimulate people to jump into your world. Every artist has his own ‘key’, hallucination is my own one – providing some welcome escapism in an era of lockdowns!”

I couldn’t be happier to release this project, included a side B called ‘Wandering gas’, on Swoon Recordings, a brand new label founded by two heavyweight producers Jelico and Ryan Murgatroyd. It feels like the perfect home!

Speaking about the remix Eveline said:

“Last summer I sent this stuff to Philipp (MANDY), and he was so kind to get me in touch with the Swoon-family, perfectly knowing the sagacity of this great team.
I was really excited when George (Jelico) came up to me showing his likes for ‘My fandango’, also asking to make a remix. That made my day, literally!”

Listen to the EP here and prepare yourselves for a blasting new records from Jeff Eveline, because it doesn’t look like he is slowing back anytime soon! Also, make sure to follow him on his social media account and your favorite streaming platforms.

Cosmic Gate returns with new single ‘Blame’ featuring Diana Miro

Premiered during their Miami Open Skies livestream last weekend, GRAMMY-nominated electronic music act Cosmic Gate‘s first 2021 single arrives on streaming platforms and stores.

Given lyrical & vocal smoulder by singer/songwriter Diana Miro, it finds Nic & Bossi bringing music with a more introspective edge. Marked out with dramatically drawn strings, pulsing percs, twisted synths and sub-bass-boom, over seven mood-brooding minutes, the track moves emotively from simmer to sear.

On the striking lyrics that lie at the heart of ‘Blame‘s story, Diana Miro said:

I wrote this song when one of my friends was struggling with plans – again – not coming to life. It’s a sad situation, but I always ask myself: do we really need what we want, as nowadays others influence most of our desires.

We endlessly spin in this social media “mill” and it’s so hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. At least music always stays true to us. I’m so happy this song has landed with Cosmic Gate. They’ve produced an amazing deep sound that truly reflects the mood of our times. I can’t wait to share it with the world!

Blame‘ wasn’t the only unboxing Nic & Bossi did during the Miami’s Open Skies show, with an end-of-set reveal that a new Cosmic Gate album was in the advanced stages of production. With ‘Blame‘ as its lead single and an eye on an early summer release, ‘MOSAIIK‘ – their eleventh long-player – will bring even more ‘forward ever backward never’ to our Cosmic cosmos.

Now, if you’re licking a mental wound over a miss of the Miami Open Skies events, hey, all’s not lost! Featuring a rather special guest dropping by, the show’s aftermovie has gone online, and is accessible through Cosmic Gate‘s YouTube .

Further, ‘Blame‘s official music video won’t be far behind and there are already rumblings that a full re-airing of the Miami Open Skies set will take place in the (none too distant!) future. So – word to the wise – keep scanning that Cosmic skyline!

Claptone; the musician that maintains a mystery that few artists can match finally drops long-awaited original new music. His new single “Zero” is a driving beacon of house music indicative that dancefloors commanded over by his golden mask’s charm are set to return very soon.

Zero‘s” illuminating crescendo and playful yet commanding vocal is as evocative as it is affecting and underpins the beginning of one of Claptone‘s most transparent musical moments without compromising what made his earlier work so special, channeling deep grooves and in “Zero‘s” case, dizzying euphoria into an unyielding dancefloor anthem.

Insomniac Events, the world’s leading dance music promoter and the visionaries behind EDC Las Vegas (Electric Daisy Carnival), Nocturnal Wonderland, Escape: Psycho Circus, and many more, is announcing the launch of Factory 93 Records, a new record label joining the Insomniac Music Group family, which will focus on unearthing the most exciting artists and sounds from within the underground space.

For the better part of the last decade, Factory 93 has cemented itself as a pillar for all things house and techno. The immersive underground experience has kept its ear glued to the ground via celebrated lineups highlighting established and emerging acts alike from all corners of the world, setting the bar increasingly higher for itself through world-class production and an eye-grabbing aesthetic.

Factory 93 Records is the next step in the evolution of the brand, assembling a platform for the culture to gather around the most exciting sounds spanning house, techno, tech house, disco and every shade of discerning dance music sitting in-between.

Factory 93 represents the beginning of Insomniac. Underground dance music will always be the roots of everything we do. Factory 93 is a very passionate part of the Insomniac portfolio worldwide, which makes this new record label even more exciting for us,” says Pasquale Rotella, Insomniac’s Founder and CEO.

“With the addition of Factory 93 Records, our team will be able to carry over its vision from the live events side into a carefully curated catalog we can’t wait for you to hear.

Initially getting off the ground as a warehouse series in 2016, the launch of Factory 93 was a full circle moment that took root in the heart of the industrial district of Downtown Los Angeles from whence the Insomniac saga first began. Before long, the brand started firing on all cylinders with the introduction of festival showcases (hosting stages at EDC Las Vegas, EDC Mexico, EDC Orlando, Escape, EDC Japan), large-scale open-air event at unique venues, sold-out club nights (Exchange LA, Academy Hollywood and Club Space Miami), and becoming the masterminds behind the lauded Secret Project Festival.

Having championed a head-turning list of talent from the likes of Carl Cox, Charlotte de Witte, Adam Beyer, Nicole Moudaber, Amelie Lens, Boris Brejcha, Peggy Gou, The Martinez Brothers, Joseph Capriati, Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice and many more, Factory has developed into an all-around tastemaker in its own right. Breaking into the record label space will allow the sounds from its international stages to reach underground heads extending out across the globe.

Mathame Release New A.I Algorithm Mix for Apple Music

Mathame
via Giovanni A. Mocchetti

Mathame have launched a new and groundbreaking series of mixtapes that have been put together with a brand new A.I. algorithm developed to test the power of the new M1 processor architecture by Apple. “Old Neural Mixtape Vol.1” lands in March 2021, with further instalments to follow throughout the year.

Mathame are an Italian techno pair who bring real depth of emotion to their grooves. They release on labels like Tale Of Us‘s Afterlife, and have a truly emotive and deep techno sound that’s full of melody.

This new A.I technology allows artists to separate tracks into harmonics, vocals and beats then rebuild new versions on the fly. It was first trialled by Mathame in their globally acclaimed 2020 BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, which ended with an upcoming Mathame remix from one of the most talented pianists in Europe, namely Max Richter’s Declaration of Human Rights.

The sonic aesthetic sits somewhere in between lofi mixtape and enhanced engineered sound design. In it, music by the likes of Franco Battiato and Arca, Burial and Moby as well as Plastikman, MF Doom and Buddy Rich all explode and collapse into something brand new and never heard before.

The beauty of this technique is that is not perfect, the little mistakes and sonic artifacts shade it with unprecedented feelings, working it was more human than the classic way of mixing tracks. This sounds like a lo fi cyborg mix , maybe the future of dance mixtapes,” says Mathame.

Though this special Apple DJ Mix series, Mathame are proving their desire to build bridges between genres and musical styles. After the release of the first “Old Neural Mixtape Vol.1” in March 2021, Mathame will continue this series in collaboration with Apple Music by delivering different types of mixtapes that will continue to explore their skills alongside the A.I. neural mix technology.
