Armin van Buuren drops first batch of ‘Balance’ remixes

armin van buuren

It’s been almost three months since Armin van Buuren unleashed his seventh artist album, and ‘Balance’ is still lighting up the electronic dance music realm.

After unveiling the ‘Balance‘-themed murals in New York, Mexico City and Amsterdam, launching a full-fledged ‘Balance’ escape room in the Dutch capital, seeing the album gain the certified gold status in the Netherlands within five days and evoking a truckload of magical moments through album track features in live shows across the globe, Armin van Buuren is adding even more fireworks into the mix by launching the first batch of ‘Balance’ remixes.

For the remixes, Armin van Buuren called upon the specific remix skills of several of dance music’s finest. Offering up imaginative new directions of respectively ‘Mr. Navigator’, ‘It Could Be’ and ‘Runaway’, i_o, Genix and Erly Tepshi adopt a more club-suited approach.

Between Genix‘s dark Techno-tinged version of ‘It Could Be’ and Erly Tepshi‘s atmospheric take onRunaway, i_o delivers a ferocious remix of Armin van Buuren and Tempo Giusto‘s‘Mr. Navigator’.

Driven by bulldozing kick-bass combos, crude hi-hats and the raw vocals of the original, this edit brings with it a natural aptitude for dance floor domination due to its extreme amounts of energy and power. All combined, this first batch of remixes ensures bags of mainstage appeal and fist-pumping crowds as far as the eye can see.

BICEP bring their live show to Creamfields 2020

Bicep

Over the past several years, BICEP have made waves across the dance music industry. While their infectious production style and massively popular DJ sets have been the backbone of their success, their most lauded achievement has been their spectacular live shows, and it’s just been announced they’ll be returning to Creamfields UK this summer to perform their live show at the festival for the first time on Sunday 30th August Bank Holiday weekend.

Much like their tracks, BICEP‘s live shows showcase a duo who’ve well and truly mastered their craft and know how to please a crowd. It’s a show packed full of complex live wizardry, as the duo play the role of conductor and full electronic orchestra, and like any great live performers, the make it seem almost effortless in the process. Add some equally “simple yet mind-blowing” visual production, and this looks set to be one of the highlights of Creamfields 2020, one that no discerning dance music fan will want to miss.

BICEP (Live) will be joined across the weekend by previously announced Armin van Buuren, Pendulum TRINITY, The Chainsmokers and Camelphat for Creamfields 2020, with more line up due to be announced over the coming weeks.

Creamfields returns to Daresbury in Cheshire, UK in 2020 on 27th – 30th August Bank Holiday weekend, full line up to be announced. Ticket on sale now via link.

elrow’art announce European tour to premiere Kaos Garden in brand new cities

Kaos Garden

Celebrating the new year in typically breathtaking fashion, elrow announces new concept elrow’art first European tour, taking in Madrid’s Art Week and London’s Roundhouse, to premiere Kaos Garden, powered by Desigual, in brand new cities.

In 2019, elrowart joined forces with Desigual and multidisciplinary artist Okuda San Miguel to create a unique spectacle that has never been seen before: an audio-visual feast named Kaos Garden where, through avant-garde art and electronic music from the mind of Paco Osuna, the audience features as an integral part of the experience.

The beloved confetti and immersive production remains, but the theme unfolded within Okuda‘s reinterpretation of the famous painting, ‘The Garden Of Earthly Delights‘, and signified elrow‘s commitment to once again consistently pushing the envelope creatively.

Having debuted as part of elrow‘s Amnesia residency to rave reviews, the show then touched down in international locations such as Miami and New York and marches into 2020 with more unmissable dates.

Those dates include a European tour that kicks off Madrid’s Art Week on Saturday 22nd February 2020 and finishes at London‘s prestigious Roundhouse on Friday 11th April 2020 to give elrow’art its long-awaited UK premiere.

Dancers will finally be given the chance to explore the Kaos Garden in all its glory, experiencing unparalleled fun and hedonism in paradise while battling the ominous gloom that lurks in hell, with the biggest names in house and techno unleashing killer sets throughout the night. Expect these shows to go down in the elrow history books.

Don’t miss out on elrow’art‘s European tour. Sign up here.

Julian Jeweil returns to Drumcode with stunning 5-track EP, ‘Schema’

Julian Jeweil

Twelve months on from his outstanding debut album on Drumcode ‘Transmission’ , Julian Jeweil returns with a stellar five-track EP titled ‘Schema’.

Since his label debut in 2017 with EPs ‘Rolling‘ and ‘Space‘, Julian Jeweil has confirmed his place as one of Drumcode‘s most vital artists. He’s been a mainstay of label events, playing the main stage of Drumcode Festival in both 2018 and 2019, Drumcode Halloween in ’19 and multiple showcases at Watergate in Berlin.

Transmission‘, his maiden LP, dropped in January 2019 and was an early year highlight, reinforcing his production nous.

Inspired by his experiences touring off the back of the album, ‘Schema‘ EP offers up a quintuplet of cuts showcasing the rawer and ravier side of the Frenchman’s sound. The title track is an immersive roller, primed for a Sunday session at Berghain. ‘Outline’ ups the intensity with cascading synth effects and galloping beats.

Music is the delicious brain-scrambler thanks to its intoxicating brew of shuffling beats, vox and swirling acid.Axis is a slam dunk of industrial bass and 303s that builds to a grin-inducing climax. ‘Landscape’ plunges the atmosphere into deeper territory, still propelled by a pummeling bass and acidic inflections.

Brando pushes into 2020 with new dance anthem: ‘Look Into My Eyes’

Brando

Drawing inspiration from the numerous musical influences he indulged in growing up in Los Angeles, singer-songwriter Brando is releasing his first single of 2020, ‘Look Into My Eyes’. The record was produced by the Amsterdam born DJ/Producer Avedon with input from guitarist Camden Bench.

Look Into My Eyes’ started off with the idea of flipping the ‘90s record ‘Would I Lie To You Baby’ by the UK duo Charles & Eddie. The end result is a range of cool vibes that dictate the groove with an innate catchiness that makes the track itself stand apart from the original and is perfect for the global dance music scene.

For those unaware, Brando was the voice behind Canadian duo Loud Luxury‘s multi-million-streaming hit ‘Body’ (well over 600 million streams on Spotify) and Don Diablo’s ‘Congratulations’, the latter of which is currently climbing the U.S. Mediabase Dance Chart through a surge of radio plays.

After making waves on an international scale with ‘Body’ and more recently ‘Congratulations’, Brando is also a prolific songwriter and was part of the team that penned the Loud Luxury and Bryce Vine smash ‘I’m Not Alright’ which is a top 10 record on US Dance charts. Amplifying the momentum generated through his earlier collaborations, Brando’s return to Armada Music means the birth of another sure-fire dance anthem.

Here’s what Brando had to say about his new single:

“I wanted to write a song that conveyed the current lifestyle that I’ve stumbled into, one in which I’m often performing at clubs late at nightand I observe guys who have a girlfriend back at home worried about whether their boyfriend out cheating. I wanted to capture that tension in a relationship where you really have to trust your partner will do the right thing.”

While his immediate pipeline is stacked full of more amazing collabs with artists such as Matoma and BRKLYN, he’s also in the studio finishing up an EP for release later this year. Fans will be excited to know Brando is working on tour dates that will be announced soon, as he’s ready for the world to discover what he’s all about, starting with his first single of 2020: ‘Look Into My Eyes’.

Origen Fest unveils the content of the first of these four dates: On Sunday 7th of June, Son Fusteret will overflow with colour and performances thanks to ELROW.

Looking towards the future, Origen Fest is planning a sustainable and kind to the planet experience that will reduce the use of plastic and use local products. More details will be unveiled before the festival.

Last year Origen Fest held 30.000 attendees, a number that will highly increase in the next edition, due to the great growth of international audiences that the brand is experimenting with.

ORIGEN FEST LOOKS TOWARDS THE FUTURE

The festival was born in 2018 with a strong look towards the future. A project well structured, with a clear vision and a strong philosophy: To grow in a sustainable and coherent way. Therefore, the brand has laid the foundations of what is nowadays the biggest electronic music festival in the Balearic Islands. And the growth involves responsibility, something that Origen Fest hasn’t avoided, increasing its commitment towards a truly responsible event every year.

Some of its actions include strong support to local products, the reduction of its carbon footprint and the use of plastic. But this vision towards the future doesn’t stop here. There’s going to be a twist to Origen Fest’s image and to the technical side of things such as its audiovisual production, an element that will make this edition really stand out.

ELROW, THE FIRST EVENT

ELROW goes to Mallorca! The brand of great international success returns to Origen Fest next 7th of June with a production that will bring all of its colour and craziness to immerse the attendees into one of its incredible parallel worlds.

One of the best parts of Origen Fest 2019 was its collaboration with ELROW, something that, judging by the extraordinary feedback from the audience, couldn’t be missed in this new edition.

The theme and artists will be revealed in the next few weeks but there is no doubt that it will surprise again, turning Sun Fusteret into a giant theme park full of decorations, costumes, animation, performances, activities, confetti, inflatable, Rowgelia and of course, a lot of fun.

ORIGEN FEST’S INTERNATIONAL PROJECTION

Origen Fest’s attendees haven’t stopped growing in each edition, from 25.000 attendees in 2018 to 30.000 attendees in 2019. Knowing that the expectations for this new edition are unbeatable, the brand international presence grows every day, due to Mallorca being such an attraction to tourists  and its never ending summer, making Origen Fest a unique and ideal destination to enjoy 4 days of partying, beach and hundreds of additional plans. The biggest of the Balearic Islands has an incomparable infrastructure and so much to offer. Also, the festival really takes care of its attendees , giving importance to equality and responsibility and working hard for their comfort with services and bars without queues.

We must also  add to all of this the undeniable economic impact that Origen Fest has generated throughout its surroundings. With its strong investment, which is more than  1.2€ million in artistic and general production for each edition, the festival also strongly supports the local community creating hundreds of new jobs for each one of its dates.

Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike headline C.E.A Festival a brand new experience in China

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Martin Garrix

Leading Chinese event promoters Brotherhood Music China (BHM) today confirmed the inaugural edition of a major new player in the global festival calendar, the C.E.A. (Charming Eastern Awakening) Festival.

C.E.A. Festival will create a mythical world in which international electronic music and entertainment will be combined with the rich elements of Chinese culture, show and art, a unique festival experience never seen before, with the local visitor at its core.

Announcing its arrival with global EDM heavyweights Martin Garrix and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike as their Phase 1 headliners, C.E.A. Festival will take place over two days (April 18th and 19th) at Joy Park in Chengdu.

Spread over three stages, the festival will feature over 60 electronic dance music artists from all over the world, including Yellowclaw, Vicetone, Sam Feldt, Julian Jordan and Sefa. One of the stages will be hosted by Armada Music, while Q-dance will also bring their Take Over experience.

In a particular coupe for C.E.A Festival, organisers BHM have secured the world famous show designers and producers Backbone International and T-Minus Design, who have collaborated on jaw-dropping stage productions at Tomorrowland, Mysteryland and Sensation. Promising to unleash a visual spectacle unlike anything else fans have ever seen before, the partnership looks to bring in a great global experience, raising the bar for premium festival experiences in China and beyond.

BHM has already had huge success bringing outside brands like the UK’s iconic Creamfields festival and of course Q-dance – known for organizing the biggest hard dance events in the world – into the Chinese music market.

The decision to launch their own festival was a natural one and has secured major support from Chengdu Media Group, Shanghai Tengli Culture Co.LTD, China International Development Corporation Limited, Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Wuhou District People’s Government.

“C.E.A. Festival is truly a project that’s been in the planning for over 10 years,” said BHM’s Managing Director Paul Neuteboom. “It’s been a strong personal goal to bring the rich elements of Chinese culture, entertainment and history together into one premium, international festival experience like the ones I grew up with in The Netherlands.

“The experience that we’ll create, bringing the best of both worlds together, will be strengthened further by our launch of a new international music conference the day before the festival,” Neuteboom added.

“Collaboration and cooperation are the keys to our vision for the future and I’m very thankful for the trust that all the partners involved are giving us. I’m very excited to start this creative journey together and I’m certain that the best is yet to come!”
